Ben needs to shape up
I understand wants to go through with this alone. However, he allowed Nina to come with him during the test and he even slept with her. So why doesn't he quit being selfish and let his woman be by his side and quit acting like it is pity. I like Ben; but, he is messing up. As for Zoey, well history does repeat itself. These were similar circumstances that lead to her and Jake breaking up. Aaron is a bit manipulative, but that is what Lucas gets for pushing the sex issue with Zoey. If he would have been intelligent enough to back off the other 100 times Zoey said no, this situation would no exist.

I understand that he loves Zoey, in fact I get that. But, no is no, and when she told that she wasn't ready for that he should have left well enough alone.

THIS BOOK WAS GREAT!!!!!
I think the Making out Series of books are great!! I hope Ben's surgery goes well so he can see again. I just finished it and I recomend it to everyone who likes a good romance/teen novel. Lara and Jake should definatly stay together and I hope Lara can stop her drinking problem. My least favorite character is Clair. She is sooooo mean. Me and my friends have all started reading the books. Some of them are really hard to find though cause they are out of print!!!

I love this series!
OMG these are the best books! I just got done reading Nina Shapes Up and I think it's the best one yet! Nina and Benjamin are my fave island couple, they are so in love (even tho I peeked at a review 4 a later book and it said they break up and now Nina is with LUCAS of all people...I hope she and Ben get back 2ge+her!). NEwayz, the point of this book is that Ben finds out about a blindness reversal surgery project in Boston. He and Nina run away so he can have tests done 2 see if he's eligible. Then something...*surprising* happens between him and Nina. You'll just have 2 read it 2 find out! If you plan 2 read this one start w/ Zoey Fools Around and work your way up...you'll get more out of it that way! C-ya later! - Sara -<3-

Can assist all of us in being reflections of God's kingdom.
Is God prompting you to include a disabled person in your circle of friends? Are you uncertain of what to do next? Are you uneasy about perhaps offending the person by your interest? Dr. Jim Pierson, a speech pathologist, advocate, educator, and pastor, has used his years of experience to produce a slim, practical volume that will dispel your questions and give you the confidence to follow God's leading. No specialized education or professional skills are necessary to be a friend. The beginning of a life-enriching friendship between you and a disabled person is as simple as introducing yourself and asking, "What is your name?" Each chapter introduces the reader to another of Dr. Pierson's friends with his or her unique perspective on life and on the opportunities our God provides. Mental, physical, emotional, and learning disabilites are defined and illustrated, and very practical suggestions are given for working past difficulties in communication, mobility, and social behavior. Dr. Pierson emphasizes that whether a person's disability has been present from birth or acquired at a later time, each person must be included in a social and spiritual community. Friendship is an expression of love. The most lasting love ensures that each friend is included in God's kingdom. Begin with simple social pleasures: invitations to coffee or dinner at home or at a restaurant. Disabled people are people first, and they enjoy sports, hobbies, gardens, and festive events. However, unlike nondisabled people, their opportunities to enjoy these things are usually more limited. Once a relationship is established, there will be obvious opportunities for both of you to express faith and trust in God's promises. Be ready to exercise the spiritual fruit of patience as you begin to communicate and understand one another. Do not be afraid to admit when you don't understand immediately. After you have conquered these problems, you will share joy.Whether or not communication is easy, there is never a barrier to the work of the Holy Spirit. Every soul can learn God's loving care and intent for His people. When the friendship reaches spiritual levels, invite your friend to attend worship with you. If he or she is already involved in another congregation, attend their services occasionally. Dr. Pierson has developed easy, step-by-step procedures to assist church staff in expanding their educational opportunities to include disabled people. Of particular interest is a chart that explains the symptomatic behaviors of autism in terms that anyone can understand. This and other basic how-to information on each type of disability will make classroom inclusion of disabled students much less stressful. Disabilities rearrange the lives of family members too. They often need assistance to cope with the stresses of accepting diagnoses and making lifestyle changes. Ordinary family chores can become a burden when therapy sessions occupy a major part of each day. Befriend the family of your disabled friend as well. Intercessory prayer, practical assistance, and listening ears make waiting for the removal of every disability much easier (God promises that each one is temporary). Our God, who calls the lame his beloved remnant (Micah 4:6, 7), loves the diversity of each unique person. This book can assist all of us in molding our lives and congregations to be clearer reflections of His kingdom.

A must handbook for every Christian.
Jim Pierson has delivered a heart-touching book. This collection of vignettes from Jim's experiences present real people with disabilities who have come to faith because of the ministry of those who care. Each chapter concludes with helpful ministry hints. Pierson is eminently well qualified to write this book. An outstanding preacher, most of his professional life has been devoted to mininstry with those who have disabilities. For 17 years, he directed the East Tennessee Children's Rehabilitation Center in Knoxville. He has developed a minor in disability ministry at Johnson Bible College, also in Knoxville, and teaches courses in that program. He is a special consultant to Standard Publishing for the development of materials and services to churches interested in ministering to those with disabilities. He is currently the director of The Christian Church Foundation for the Handicapped in Louisville. His entire professional focus-and much of his personal interest-is involved with ministry to those with disabilites. The hints for extending friendship and ministry at the end of each chapter are invaluable resources for any individual who wishes to reach out to those who are disabled. The book is a must handbook for every Christian.

The best book we've encountered in this field
We have read numerous books on disibility ministry. Without a doubt, we would have to say that "No Disabled Souls" is the best book we've encountered in this field. It is easy and enjoyable reading, yet practical. It outlines bite size steps for individuals and churches to take as they enter the world of disability ministry. We are recommending this book to all.

short stories about tough issuses
This book is a great book about teens dealing with tough issues. It touches on many issuse that teens deal with every day, such as teen pregnancy, drug use and abuse, not knowing how to handle. The fact that it is written as a group of short stories makes it that much more appealing to a younger audience.

If you are looking for a book that deals with tough issues in an appealing manner than I would highly recommmend this book to you.

Great stories...there's at least one for everyone
I read this book in less than a day. The stories were really realistic, and they're things that real teenagers face in everyday life. All the stories are by different authors, and I liked how they put a mini-bio after each of the stories to tell about that author's most famous books that had won the most prizes, etc. It helped, because if there was a story I really liked, then I could get the book with the longer version (most of the stories came from a book the author had written). It was an awesome book.

An excellent discussion tool for character education . . .
Given the recent trend toward violence with teenagers, this book provides a powerful discussion piece in the middle school classroom. The stories in this collection all have characters who face difficult moral delimmas. This can spark many classroom activities where students determine the best course of action. This gets young adults talking about character, taking responsiblity, and choosing the right path. Furthermore, the high interest level of the stories hook even the most reluctant of readers! It was hard for anyone in the room to put down.

A Wonderful, Wise Reference Guide thats Works!
It is so helpful to have a book that is designed for easy access to a specific topic of concern. I bought this book for some school concerns that we were having with our grade-schoolers. Many of the major hot-button isuues are covered in this book that were of current interest to me. I have found the suggestions and specific steps to correct the behavior to be sensible and for the most part easy to implement; we have already seen positive changes in the homework and school behavior of our two sons (ages 9 and 11). Additionally, we as parents are yelling, nagging, threatening, and complaining much less and that feels so good as far as the general ambiance in our home. On a good day, we seem to have found a few more minutes of 'hanging out' down time together as a family. Another book we highly recommend that we have been using with our 2 and 4 year old is The Pocket Parent. This book is also an A-Z compedium of worrisome behaviors with many sanity saving suggestions that have also worked well for us. I like both quick-read reference books becasue they include very specific strategies of what you might say and do to change the undesirable, often annoying behavior. Both have a sense of humor and compassion throughout, and they are both reasonably priced.

Lots To Cover
This book covers a lot and is written where it is quite easy to digest. Her tone is similar to other favorite authors of mine and this always seems to keep me reading. Also recommended, Mommy-CEO, by Jodie Lynn. I received both books as gifts and they are a must have for every household who want to finally get cooperation and peace back in the house and love back in the relationship with your kids - and hubby too.

You Can Do It!
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. From the moment I opened this book, I felt as if it was written for me. Now, my children don't even come close to exhibiting all the behaviors covered in this book, but the author has given me the skills and set the tone through realistic strategies and step-by-step recommendations that will serve me well for years to come. I have even given copies of No More Misbehavin' to my parents and in-laws. Now we are definitely (and finally!) on the same page.

awsome story, couldn't put it down, the humor, story line was great. tells a man growing up as a marine dealing with past decisions and what he finaly decides. 2nd part the first was 'the old corps' during ww2.

A 3 war Marine Grunt discovers the real meaning of John 3:16
Jessie Slate is a 3 war Marine based on the lives of real Marines. The combat is real, you'll freeze and you will sweat from the Chosin to Viet Nam. But the real story is deeper than even these heroic Marines. The depth of this book goes beyond being Always Faithful to the Marine Corps, the real story is that God gave His only son and until one of these Marines feel that same pain and sacrifice they did not understand the true meaning of John 3:16.

GOD BLESS THE CORPS
A VERY INTERNAL NOVEL ABOUT LEATHERNECKS IN A PLACE COMMANLY CALLED HELL. MAKES ME REALLY THINK ABOUT MY UNCLE CHUCK (MY DAD'S UNCLE) WHO WAS A PARAMARINE IN THE 1ST MARINE DIVISION AT GUADALCANAL AND WAS WOUNDED AT IWO JIMA (HE WAS RIGHT THERE WHEN THEY RASED THE FLAG), HE HOWEVER PASSED AWAY ABOUT SEVEN YEARS AGO. AND IT REALLY MAKES ME THINK OF A YOUNG LANCE CORPORAL WHO WILLINGLY GAVE HIS LIFE FOR HIS PLATOON ON FEBRUARY 8, 1968 AT KHE SAHN, AND GOT THE BRONZE STAR FOR IT. THAT LANCE CORPORAL WAS MY COUSIN. HE DIED 14 YEARS 8 MONTHS AND 5 DAYS BEFORE I WAS EVEN BORN. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SHED ENOUGH TEARS FOR GUYS LIKE THEM. IN THE WORDS OF THE MARINES AT GUADALCANAL: "AND WHEN HE GETS TO HEAVEN TO SAINT PETER HE WILL TELL 'ONE MORE MARINE REPORTING SIR I'VE SERVED MY TIME IN HELL.'" SEMPER FI JIMMY. SEMPER FI UNCLE CHUCK. AND THANK YOU.

The most controversial section of this ringing denunciation of corporate law is that on tort reform, which Ralph Nader, the consumer advocate and 1996 Green Party Presidential candidate, and Wesley J. Smith denounce as "tort deform" measures sure to further insulate corporations from the damage wrought by pollution and dangerous products. But Nader has never shied from controversy, and this series of case studies attacks confidential settlements in injury cases, state ethics boards, and links between high-power corporate lawyers and government officials with an equal measure of indignation and reformist zeal.
Average review score:

Essential for lawyers or anyone interested in justice
This is one of my favorite books I've read in recent years. It opens your eyes to the horrible tactics used by corporate lawyers to deny victims their full day in court. Also, Nader and Smith present bulletproof arguments against tort reform. You will learn a TON by reading this.

Required Reading for Law Students
As a law student, I have to say that this should be on every law students "must-read" list! Nader and Smith clearly describe the hardball ruthless tactics used by today's corporate lawyers. This is not the kind of stuff they teach you in law school!

It took real guts and courage to expose the unethical tactics used by too many lawyers today, and I'm grateful that they did so. Highly recommended.

THOSE SUE-HAPPY CORPORATIONS
Beware of the multinational corporations. Not only do they stick it to the taxpayers in forms of bailouts, tax "incentives", and other similar accounts recievable, they are quite willing to stick it to citizens in court and screw up the meaning of the word "due process" in America and the world. A sad commentary on our justice system but a MUST READ.

Anarchism in thought and action
No Gods No Masters is a work of monumental proportions. Daniel Guerin has created a masterpiece of libertarian socialist literature, a truly comprehensive look the history and practice of anarchism. The work brings together hundreds of source articles and declarations, from the original documents of the International Working Men's Association, on through Kropotkin, to Malatesta to the intricacies of the Spanish Revolution. There is an excellent balance of theoretical manifestos and documents and reports and interpretations of actual revolutionary events. This is a prime source for information on some of this centuries most important events, from the point of view of the participants.

I was quite satisfied with the huge amount of excellent information in these two books, so much so that I think there should be more. Although he covers the most important aspects of anarchist history an practice, Guerin leaves a few things out, while focusing too much on other things (Proudhon for example.)

Overall, though, it is an excellent read, and an inspiring and useful addition to the long list of anarchist literature. No God's No Masters is not so much an introduction to anarchism, or an argument for it, it's more of an enlightening look at anarchism throughout history. Definately recommended!

Essential reading for any advocate of direct action
Both volumes of "No Gods No Masters" are a magnificent contribution to anarchist thought and its ongoing traditions of libertarian justice and fraternity.Daniel Guerin states that "the constructive ideas of anarchism retain their vitality, that they may, when re-examined and sifted, assist contemporary socialist thought to undertake a new departure...[and] contribute to enriching Marxism."

In "No Gods No Masters" Guerin is concerned not only with anarchist thought but also with the spontaneous actions of popular revolutionary struggle. He is concerned with social as well as intellectual creativity. He attempts to draw from constructive social achievements of the past, lessons that will enrich the theory of social liberation.

One of the better books on Anarchism available for those who truly wish to understand the world and who wish to act constructively to change it for the better. Essential reading for any advocate of direct action for social change.

For those who wish not only to understand the world, but also to change it, this is the proper way to study the history of anarchism.

Very good book
Guerin's two volumes are really worthwhile, because they feature anarchists of the time in their own words, describing the idea. This is very good for anybody wanting a sense of the history, and it's also worthwhile for modern applications of anarchism -- to see what's been done and thought of before, and where to go from there. An excellent companion to "Anarchism", also edited by Guerin.

Cats will be cats
This little gem of a children's book addresses the sometimes difficult relationships between parents and children with a dark humor that is hard to ignore. I have owned my copy of this book for years, and it has enough complexity to provide new meaning each time I read it. I have always found Piper Paw's world somewhat grim--perhaps the smudgey, black and white illustrations have something to do with this. His relationship with his parents, teachers and schoolmates is so antagonistic that I begin to wonder what made him so incapable of love--this of course is a conclusion I have reached recently, and not when I first read the book as a pre-teen. But Piper comes around at the end, if not completely, at least to a level of compromise that he can live with, which includes no kissing. Because of Piper's antics and some of the more bizarre illustrations, I would recommend this book for kids 9 years and older.

Simply the Best!
This is my absolute favorite Children's book! Growing up as a child, I would read this several times each summer and would laugh for hours at the expressions and the illustrations. The illustrations are brilliant. I think that deep down, we all share the desire to be as mischievous as Piper.

A Lot of Fun
My mother used to love to read this to me when I was a kid; we still have one of the earlier issues.

I'm glad it was re-released. It's a classic: recommended for adults as well as children.

No Longer A Dilly Dally
No Longer a Dilly Dally was about two families who moved away from their friends to start a new home in the country. I thought this was a very good book about the lesson of getting your work done first and playing later. It would be a good book about the lesson of hard work and working first before you play. My family is just like the Work Play Family, and even though we follow this good rule, I still have lots of time to play. Great color and illustration, I really like the pictures. My Mom and I read this book together and had a good laugh about how the Work Play Family was just like us.

Help for parents
What parent doesn't spend alot of time trying to convince their child that play time comes after work time. This book is a fun way to reinforce that lesson to kids. Great book!

Don't Put Off Till Tomorrow What You Can Do Today
No Longer A Dilly Dally is an adorable book about the hard working ants, however some ants don't understand that in order to eat they must work first. This story warms your heart as you see the Dilly Dally's learn a hard lesson about laziness. The picture illlustrations are superb and they put a smile on my face. As usual, they have lots of detail. I will share this book with my class and it will enable me to integrate teaching about ants and hard work.

Enough with the kissing, already! Momo the monkey cannot fathom why everyone, everyone insists on doing so much kissing. Lions, wild boars, snakes, flamingos, even Momo's own family has to kiss hello, kiss goodbye, kiss to make it better... "I wish no one had invented kissing," poor Momo laments. He's positively dreading the smoochfest when his new baby brother is born. But little does he know what his own reaction will be to the wailing tot.

Emma Chichester Clark, author and illustrator of numerous acclaimed books, including I Love You, Blue Kangaroo!, writes with a warm, fresh style, and drenches the pages of this irresistible jungle tale with tropical colors and droll details. There's an eminently recognizable Everyboy in Momo's furry body. When a girl relative tries to put the kissing in cousin, the determined look on Momo's face as he beats a hasty retreat is priceless. And when his adorable baby brother wins Momo's heart (and lips), every reader will cheer. (Ages 2 to 5) --Emilie Coulter

Momo doesn't like kissing!!
Momo is a cute little monkey who lives in a Babar-like jungle created by Emma Chichester Clark, the author/illustrator of the Blue Kangaroo books. In general he is a very happy little monkey ,,,, until the kissing starts! Kissing everywhere, all the time, for this and that, hello and goodbye, morning and night. Momo tells everyone he knows, "No more kissing!" But it doesn't do any good. He cannot understand why everybody likes it so much .... until his little brother smiles at him.

This is a sweet book for little ones who don't like kissing, or new big brothers and sisters, or even babysitters.

Excellent Big Sibling Book
I think this is my three year old daughter's favorite "big sister" story. It's an adorable, original tale with very cute illustrations; just what I look for in a children's book.

Kissing is Monkey Business
Momo is a little monkey who is disgusted by all the kissing he sees around him, from relatives, parents and children, even strangers. They kiss for every reason, and for no reason at all, and finally he orders everyone in his household to stop: "No more Kissing!" It makes no difference at all, so he takes comfort in the fact that at least he is not a baby, because babies get the most kisses of all. Then one day he tries to comfort his new baby brother, and a very amazing thing happens! This colorful jungle tale is funny and silly, with just the right amount of tender sweetness. The illustrations are watercolored, and the lettering is hand done, but very clear. The monkeys look a little like Curious George, but have much more expression.
