Great Book
I bought this book at a book fair in kindergarten and never got around to reading it until it was out of print four years ago. I love the book and every time I read it fall in love with the characters. The story is great and the series is to. Highly recomended

other books by zack emerson
I havent read this book; I plan to, though, because I've read books by this author under the name ellen emerson white which are great, including one called The Road Home. The Road Home has some of the same charactersas this series. Thought fans would like to know!

Very good, fantastic!
I've have read all his books in the series of Echo Company. This is one of the best vietnam, or rather any war book I've ever read.

wonderful, the best book next to the bible.
I think this is the best book, but I realy wish monte did not die. I think she should write another book to the series, and have monte not realy be dead, and have it turn out that he realy was just badly injured and before they put him in the dirt a native american came and grabbed him and patched him up but lost his memory. So Abbie falls in love with cole and gets married, and so monte comes home after a few months they've been married, with his memory back, and abbie has to choose between them........you could finish the rest kristen if you decide to use my idea in another rocky mountian legacy. Keep up the good work, and GOD BLESS YOU! P.S Keep me informed please!

Please keep wring this series, Mrs. Heitzmann!
I just wanted to say that I love this series! It has quickly become a favorite of mine and I hope you will continue writing on Abbie's story! I can hardly wait for HONOR'S REWARD to come to one of our local bookstores. I couldn't even put the books down because they made me want to know what would happen next. Thank you for writng such wonderful books!

Another winner by Kristen Heitzmann!
This book is great! Kristen Heitzmann obviously has talent in writing historical fiction. The plot was great and characters unique and realistic. Abbie has finally started getting over her loss as her former foreman Cole Jasper returns and brightens up the atmosphere around her Lucky Star Ranch. Then out of the blue 2 bounty hunters came and took Cole saying that he is wanted dead or alive for the murder of a saloon girl in El Paso, Texas. Abbie knows it couldn't be Cole who killed the girl because it isn't in him to murder. But Cole is not denying the charges and has the look of a guilty man. Abbie decides to go after the bounty hunters and save Cole from a certain death. Will she be able to find the truth before it's too late? Great story and plot. I can't wait to see what's next in this series!

Hridaya Rosary is attractive at the deepest level.
In one essay in this book, Adi Da says, "You cannot merely read my Wisdom-Teaching and 'get it'". He is right. I found that these writings were addressing some part of me far deeper than the thinking mind or even the emotional being. Throughout the book, he describes and recommends a process of "melting down" which I found overewhelmingly attractive at the deepest level. Carrying out the instructions in the book has re-arranged my orientation to life and my place in it. I feel more real, more balanced, more sane than ever before.

The essays and talks in Hridaya Rosary are sophisticated. When I tried to grapple with them mentally I just became frustrated. When I was able to relax the mind, then the words somehow enforced themselves at a primal point in me, at the heart. In these moments the wisdom of the book became intuitively clear and I felt a profound relief. At these times, it was obvious that the way things really are, Reality (with a capital R), is much different from what I ordinarily assume.

I believe this is the most efficacious instruction I have ever read.

Adi Da is perfectly unique in his writing.
This book amazed me. It opened my heart to feeling such love and bliss that it seemed I was standing in the Rose Garden of Love Adi Da was depicting. As I read further he revealed that I am fully capable of entering into this sensual, blissful domain of perfect love he offers, that I am already in and only have to become aware that this is so. It blew my mind that I and everyone can feel this love at all times if we follow his instructions about how to relate to him and everything.

This book cannot be read in a conventional way.
The Hridaya Rosary is profoud, sublime and utterly brilliant. No scripture or esoteric spiritual text can equal the magnificence or the overwhelmingly direct transmission of tangibly felt Love-Bliss this book and the essays and talks which accompany it convey. Adi Da Samraj does not spout poetry in the conventional sense. His words inherently go beyond language. I couldn't (and I don't think anyone can) read this book in a conventional way, for it took me on a deep feeling odyssey into the ultimate spiritual process. I found its mysteries are fundamentally unspeakable, but spoken with perfect eloquence and discrimination. Every cell of the body was screaming YES! to this outrageously sensual, delightful infusion of Divine-Bliss. Adi Da Samraj writes, "I Am not elsewhere, and yet I Am Infinitely Beyond... evey thing and every one Is in Me." This book convinces me that this is completely true.

Great series!
Wow, this series is awesome. The Hunt is the second book of the series Year of the Cats. This series is very hard to find. If anyone who read L.J. Smith's books, will like this series too. Because it is kind of like that. This series contain horror, adventures, and romance. 5 Stars and 2 thumbs up!

Year of the Cat : The Hunt *review*
I first found the Year of the Cat trilogy seven years ago at the local library. I loved the book when I first read it. I reccomend this book to anyone interested in the supernatural and mystery.

Major Changes
I started this series when I was 13 and 1/2 and I fell in love with it . Though I will add the 3rd book gets a little confusing . ( It also took me 2 years to find it ) I ended up finding it at the local libariy in Indiana ( I`am from CA.)Anyway the second book is the most importent in this 3 book series . This is where everything changes and true agendas are showen . Well most of them . It shows who Alex truly is. A cold , unremorseful , savage , self centered maniac. Who relishes using the gift for evil. Yet , you also see a different side of Holly. A young women with a gift of evil and fights it to protect the ones she loves. This book is such a dramtic turnig point in the series . It`s a must read and forgive me if I don`t make it sound like a great book . It is , there `s just so much you`ll find it`s hard to put in words.

Hypatia of Alexandria (Revealing Antiquity , No 8)

Legend and history.
Prof. Dzielska unravels the real life and murder of Hypatia.
Instead of the legendary young virgin martyr for paganism, she sketches a, for the period, remarkable older woman and teacher of neoplatonism and tolerance.
Her murder was instigated by the vicious ploys of a jealous catholic archbishop and executed by his ignorant mob. It was a political murder.

This book should be read because it treats of an age-old conflict that still rages in the world today: the power struggle between the civil (secular) and religious authorities.

This small work is a difficult (based on very few original sources), but very convincing reconstitution of the life of one of the very few known remarkable women of that age. A revealing work.

Female Socrates
Socrates was executed by the state of Athens as a scapegoat for its defeat by the Spartans. His crime was being a free thinker in a short age of turmoil. He was however fondly remembered and documented. Hypatia was first brought to my attention by Carl Sagan in his television series Cosmos. She has often been represented as a pillar of wisdom in an age of growing dogma. Unlike with Socrates we know much less about her life and teachings. She is remembered precisely as a martyr who was sacrificed rather than executed by a literalist Christian mob inspired by "St" Cyril, apparently as she was regarded as a threat to Christendom and theology by certain regio-political figures. Enough material on her survived not least owing to the strong memories evoked at the manner of her despatch which turned her into a historical icon.

This excellent short well sourced book is a biographic scenography in the best sense of the word. It does not sadly cover the destruction of the great library or go into great length about the history and politics of 4th century Alexandria but it blows the cobwebs and embelishments that are associated with this enigmatic figure leaving a strong, uncompromising educated presence who would have been of extreme high standing to have obtained the death she received at the hands of bigots.

The importance of Hypatia is that she represents a phase in history where Greek religion was being destroyed by the then politicised Roman state religion. Hypatia represents a tragic victim of this dark phase when a great deal of knowledge was irrevocably lost (e.g.Gandy and Freke, the Jesus Mysteries etc.,).

To know the real Hypatia, and that phase of history, this is one of the best places to begin.

Going behind the curtain . . .
Those who have an interest in the Fourth Century are familiar with the name Hypatia of Alexandria. Unfortunately she has become a figure of legend and myth. Maria Dzielska's small, short book (106 pages, each about 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" ) first examines the various persons that made her a myth, as well as their motivations. It then goes to the source documents, sorts through the credibility of each, and then redraws our picture of Hypatia. (For example, most encyclopedias give Hypatia's date of birth as about 370. Dzielska builds a strong case that she was born about 15 years earlier than that, and was in her 60's when she was murdered). This book excels in distinguishing fact from fiction - in other words it is a work of historical research. Dzielska also points out where her knowledge ends and her inferences begin. This virtue - once known as humility - also contributes to the value of this book. As one would expect, it has an annotated bibliography ("Sources"), is fully footnoted, and includes a good index. Those whose interest in Hypatia involves "her meaning" may be disappointed; those who want the truth about her will find this a useful piece of research and analysis. Maria Dzielska's book could be used as a sourcebook on HOW historical figures are appropriated for the political or religious agendas of persons less interested in "the facts" than "making a point". This alone makes it of wider interest than it might otherwise appear.

Excellent Guide for the New Catholic or Old Catholic!
I was born Catholic, before Vatican II and there is so much about the Mass that I didn't know, well I thought I knew until I read this book. The author does a great job at showing how every prayer in the Mass is from the Bible and a running meditation throughout the book helps one to see the connection between the connnection between the Mass and Jesus.
The book is full of helpful advice on how to stay focused during the Mass, how to deal with the quirks of liturgical ministers, and even how to hear a great sermon at every Mass--I found this to be especially a big help because my pastor isn't the greatest preacher.
Everything is presented simply, yet there is a depth of knowledge here that even impressed my pastor when I mentioned to him a topic that I had just read about Lord's Prayer.
I highly recommend this book to those who are Catholic and have never really been given any instruction on the Mass (like me) and also to those who are thinking about joining the Catholic Church and want a better understanding of what goes on during the Mass.

An Enlightened Cradle Catholic
As a "cradle Catholic", I'm pleasantly surprised to find how much I learned from this book! At age 25, I obviously know the "how" of mass, but this book also gives the "why" - something I was (unfortunately) never taught in CCD growing up. It explains the rituals of the mass by telling of their uses in the early church and/or relevant passages in the bible. It also gives "opportunities for spiritual growth" in the sidebars that are especially helpful to the cradle Catholic. I know I will get at least twice as much out of attending mass from now on!

The book is an "easy" (fast) read. I read half in one sitting; I suppose it might take a little longer for a new or non-Catholic not already familiar with the traditional mass. It is not too overbearing or complicated and would therefore be great for teens with a ho-hum attitude toward attending mass.

My mother always used to complain that my generation was not taught the "parts of the mass" in CCD as hers was. I don't know if this is a result of changes made by Vatican II, or simply the archdiocese I grew up in. I hope CCD children today are again taught the parts of the mass; I personally purchased this book to learn more myself so I can teach my own children better. After reading it, I wish I could afford to pass out copies at my church to the other parishioners of my generation who are obviously also not getting as much from the mass as they could be!

I agree with another reviewer that it would have been nice if the text of the prayers explained were included in the book, even if just in the back. But don't let this keep you from purchasing it; if you are a cradle Catholic, you already KNOW the prayers. If you are new, they can be easily found in a missal at any Catholic church.

I highly recommend this book!
I bought this book several a couple of months ago but just really delved into it more deeply this week. I used it in preparing a talk about the mass for our RCIA group. I have many books on the mass but this one was the most help. The catechumens and candidates and even some of the sponsors got interested in it after seeing me refer to it a few times in my talk. Several of them asked me to order copies for them.

One of the nice features of this book is the content on "how" to go to mass. The author tells us what happens in the mass and why, but also explains how to get more out of the mass every time.
Great book. You won't be sorry for buying it.

It makes you believe in time travel!
I've never been one for sci-fi literature or any types of novels that suggest unrealistic events, but this book made me believe that it is possible to cross back to the past! I'd read the book to which this is a sequel, and couldn't wait for this book to come out. I went to the store weekly to check to see if it was out. I snatched it up and soon as it hit the book shelves. It did not disappoint! But don't read it until after you read the first book!

Delightful
...Miller's plots almost manage to seem plausible, and the stories always are captivating. HERE AND THEN is no exception to her series of books. It is touching and riveting and hopeful, even though it clearly is make-believe.

Loved it!
Linda Lael Miller never fails to write well. She pulls of this set of Time Travel series just as well as her vampire set. Time travel is difficult to write, but I found "Here and Then" steamy and suspenseful, and impossible to put down. What a well-written plot! You develop alot of real feeling for the characters. This is exactly what I feel a romance book should read like. A definite recommendation for romance readers that favor time travel and the other supernatural.

Delicious!
Heroine: generously-curved

Venture capitalist and gallery owner Gabe "Romeo" Marquezis is determined to mete out his own brand of justice against power-rich-money-poor Senator Chandler and his wealthy-but-shady business associate Richard Grimes. His plan? To seduce lovely socialite Cristina Chandler and destroy any possibility of the two families merging through matrimony.

After a "chance" meeting at an art exhibit, Gabe puts his scheme in motion by offering to paint Cristina's portrait. But as artist and model become intimate, the unthinkable happens to this world-weary Casanova: Cristina not only gets inside Gabe's bed but also his heart. Will the financier play against the odds, carry out his destructive plan, and risk losing the only woman he has ever loved?

What worked for me:
Gabe was very well-depicted as the smooth, gorgeous man that no woman can tie down but whom every woman wishes she could. And I loved Cristina's portrayal as a woman on a journey of self-discovery, yearning to break free from the mold her parents had crammed her into. The sexual tension between the two characters was absolutely delicious!

Size-wise Cristina was lushly-built, having put on some weight after coming to the decision that being thin was not for her.

What didn't work for me:
There's a reason why I don't usually read category romances; namely that they are so darn short! :^) But on the plus side "His Seductive Revenge" is part of a series, so perhaps I'll catch a glimpse of Gabe and Cristina in book two or book three.)

Overall:
A great read! If you savor sexual tension between your protagonists, you'll love this story. Be aware that there are some pretty steamy scenes toward the end.

The Cover doesn't do it justice!
The cover is all wrong for this book. The heroine, Cristine, is a plus-size redhead while the hero, Gab, is Hispanic. Yet, by the cover you would have not thought that. This book was HOT!You come to care for both characters in a short time.
For anyone who is tired of reading books about skinny women who get their man and want to read a story about a plump and beautiful woman get her man, this is for you.

A good book for those of us who do not measure 24-36-24...
Of all the books I've read, this one has become my favorite. I could really relate to Cristina, and I loved the fact that she was portrayed as a beautiful woman even though she did not fit the CONVENTIONAL image of beautiful women. I thought Ms. Crosby did a wonderful job of rounding out her characters, giving them layers, which made them people I cared about. I am looking forward to reading more by Ms. Crosby soon.

Pretty good, but definetly not Bonnie's best......
I guess it was pretty good, but it was kind of a mixture of a couple of the earlier books. It was fun how they wanted this stuff and how Veronica bought the bridle that Stevie wanted. But it was kind of monotonous. They were endlessly working and so on, great, but not awesome. This was a pretty good, and funny book, but definetly NOT Bonnie Brayant's best.

The Book that got me into the series
This is the first Saddle Club Book I have read and it is still one of my favorites and I own over 40 of the books. After reading this book I went out to get more and it basically got me into this series and now I am hooked! This book is full of crazy plans and crazy buisness deals and there is also a little bit of pay back to Veronica!

You have to grab this Book!
This is my favorite Saddle Club book ever! Stevie Lake, Lisa Atwood, and Carole Hanson are just plain broke! And they die after going to a horse store. Stevie, well knowingly got carried away and blabbed around with a horse-sitting business. And WAY too carried away! Veronica also pitched in blabbing around with 6 polo ponies to get watched.
