Holiness Leads to Happiness
This book is a must for any saved single woman who is serious about having a relationship with Christ. I had an engagement ring on my finger---thought I was ready for the committment of marriage. Then I saw the video. Boy, did my perspective change. I was crying and didn't even know why the tears were rolling. The Word was convicting me--not condemning me. Presenting my body as a living sacrifice is my reasonable service (ICor 12:1). The issue of the sheets had been nagging at me, causing guilt and frustration, hampering my prayer, praise, worship and testimony. My lifestyle-despite a monogamous "compatible and healthy" mate--had caused many to stumble and affected the joy I should have in Christ. Get the book--(I read it through once and consult it regularly with my Bible for a new insight and strength) and listen to the Holy Spirit minister to you. And begin a new walk in obedience and repentance that will ultimately lead to happiness in Christ Jesus. Thank God for Prophetess Bynum.

IF YOU ARE SAVED FOR REAL!
I purchased this book two years ago and even though i saw the video and read the book i still got caught up in the sheets. Two years later I re-dedicated my life to Christ and God told me to re-read this book and I must say that if you want to truly be delivered from un-holy relationships and be purified and purged from sexual addiction you will want to read this book from someone who has "been there and done that" Ms Bynum teaches you how to work on building your relationship up in Christ through constant feeding of His word. She also warns you about what happens to a woman's spirit when we engage in pre-marital sexual relations with a man, that will shock you back into reality. I could not put this book down, and I'm going to buy the paper back edition so I can keep it with me and read from it each day so that I do not fall into another trap of the devil. God Bless you all.

this is a V.I.B.
Get this book if you're hungry for the unvarnished, hard-hitting, tough-loving T.R.U.T.H.
It should be essential reading for all Christians, with few exceptions...those rare souls that married their high-school sweethearts and are living happily ever-after...for the rest of us, it is a life-changer.
The principles apply to both genders, but especially to us women. It's not only about getting right with our God, but getting right with ourselves, and though her principal audience is singles, those who are married or have chosen the celibate life can reach back and get liberated from former sins and accumulated hurts and scars.

Though it may not a perfectly written, and might have the occasional grammatical and typographical error, it has much more content than most of the perfect prose out there in the worldly press; there is an immediacy to Sister Bynum's writing that I think adds to the punch of her message. The Prophetess is a very brave soul, and addresses subjects that most people dare not mention. We are enriched by her wisdom and her honesty, and there is a biblical basis to everything she says.
You will weep when you face your past and see the mistakes, but how the truth sets us free !
This book will shine a light into the dark corners of your heart, and shake off the emotional cobwebs, and it is all from The Word.

The Prophetess will guide you through "The Process of Purification". It won't be easy, but you'll feel so good afterwards. You will be getting rid of all the stuff that is not compatible with the new person you have become in the Lord.
Sister Bynum describes the attributes of the Proverbs 31 Woman, and shows the way to be one, and also gives 27 absolute rules if you're single and dating.

"No longer will the enemy be able to hinder the flow of the annointing in your life, or cause you to miss the purpose that God has in store for you" (pg. 217).
This is a Very Important Book. Buy it and get ready for a Major Breakthrough.

All I can say is.. WOW
I am in 8th grade and have been loyal to the Thoroughbred series since it came out, and I find this book a refreshing welcome back to Edgardale Farms. There was only one book regarding Edgardale (Ashleigh's Diary, Special Edition #1), and I'm really glad to see another one. Also, Joanna Campbell is a better writer than the new ones (not saying they're bad-- they're still good). I grew up with a longing to be a jockey (unfortunatly, I grew to tall- I'm now 5' 7") and I have had my own ex-racehorse Thoroughbred for a while now, and I'm really glad to see the racing part of the Thoroughbreds come back into action as Ashleigh comes back into the books.

Excellent book,Joanna!!
I think this book is awesome!I've read practically all the Throroughbred books, and they are good too, except Cindy is WAY to SELFISH!!Anyway, this is a good book.I am 10,and I LOVE horses, and the Thoroughbred book#26,#27 and#28 are my favorite, because they talk about jumping, which is what I do.Ashleigh #1 Lightening's Last Hope is a WONDERFUL!!!

READ IT!!!
I just finished reading this book, and I love it. This book is about a girl named Ashleigh who lives on a thoroughbred farm in Kentucky. When she is on a trail ride with her best friend, Mona, they find an abused mare living in a filthy stall. Ashleigh names the mare Lightning and tries to save her. But when the owner sees them he threatens to shoot them or call the police! Will Ashleigh save Lighting or will the mare keep on suffering? Read the book to find out!

One of my "remembered favorites"; different upon rereading..
I rated this book as a "5" based on the happy memories I had of it as a child. I read it during "free-read" time in 1st grade. Then I lost track of it. But I always remembered Gloria the fairy dog and the little girl who could kiss her elbow. I remembered the story as ending very sadly - with Gloria turning herself to a statue because of something Felicity did. That image - of someone being so deeply disappointed that she literally "turned to stone" haunted me for years. Recently, I found a copy of the book and reread it. To my surprise, there's a *happy* ending where everything is tied up neatly, and Gloria is not trapped as a golden dog statue forever. What a change, how different.... I actually like the way I *remembered* the ending better. But still, this is a wonderful book, Gloria is still one of my favorite characters (I remember wishing I had a tiny dog who could talk, just like Gloria). It's a good fantasy book, not tough reading, but not insultingly easy (or I would guess upon my adult rereading) for a reasonably adept beginning reader.

A Modern Children Class
What can I say about this book? One of my child hood favorites! It has been forever since I've read it, and seemed to have lost mine a long time ago. My story is much like the lady who is just below me. A story read long ago and far away, and so much better than the drivel today! Thankfully, like The Hobbit, I never forgot the title. It made a real impression on me. One of the best parts is Gloria the little dog figurine turning into ... well, just read and you will find out. There was something about kissing elbows, and the villan's name was Belinda. I need to desperately reread it to refresh my memory, however. But this was one of the stories that stuck out most to me when I was a kid. Hardy Boys are good, but a good faerie story is always excellent. One of my chief desires is to be a published fantasy author. This is one of my inspirations. I fell in love with the characters, while at the same time desiring to create characters of mine own. This process is now in development, as I write my own (adult . . . no sex, just aimed at adult) fantasy trilogy.

For the High Schoolers, read Alfred G. Graebner Memorial High School Handbook of Rules and Regulations by Ellen Conford

The Green Group from Dairyland Review!
We liked this book because it was a fairy tale. It was cool because it was about a dog that talks and did 367 tricks! It was about a girl that has a dog that acts like her mother. The girl is lonely because she doesn't have her parents. A cat tells her that she has special powers and that she is half fairy and half mortal. The little girl finds out that if she chooses to a mortal her parents will return from the Island of Exile. This book was sad, but had a really, really, really good ending!!! There is a secret surprise at the end! We would recommend that all of our friends read this book! We wish that there was a part 2, 3, 4, and 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This needs no summary, only one word: great!
This was such a great book, so were the first two!One thing I do need to say is that Benjamin is definately my favorite character, no doubt. If anyone wants to talk about the books with me, go ahead! I love to hear what other people thought of this very cool book! I wish more people would read her books. She's a really busy lady. She writes the Animorphs books, the Making Out series, and i think it called the Ever World Series. I don't know if she writes anymore than that, but that's a lot right there. Now, lets just talk about "Nina Won't Tell". I think it was very brave of Nina to say something. It wasn't her fault and I'm glad she realized that. Her uncle... well i would like to sy some stuff about him, but I don't think I can because, you know, it's online. lol. Claire should just give up. Jake loves her and Claire loves him. There's only one problem, Wade. And Christopher, my God. I'm not even going to start. I'm glad that Claire and Nina kinda made up. Peace People!

This author has to be gifted!
Katherine Appelgate is probably the only author to EVER get me started in a book. It is from 230 - 260 pages per book, I read each book within two days! I've never done that before. This book is No. 3 in the Boyfriends, Girlfriends Series so I suggest the reader may want to read the other two before this. I am only 13 years old, and I'll tell you, this is nothing like the silly, unrealistic Babysitter's Club books. This is about something that may happen to any of us. Each character has something that is relevent to my life, friends, school, or relationships.

"Nina Won't Tell" isn't about she doesn't say she loves Ben, but more along the lines of her uncle abusing her as a child. This series contains adult matter, yes, but is nothing too serious and is definately worth the reading. Katherine Applegate is now my favorite author (before it was Caroline B. Cooney).

I rate this book a ten because, just like the rest of the series, this book captivates your mind and sucks you in. I love it, nothing can top this series. Except for maybe Dove's Chocolate Promises

Ever Girl Should Read This Book
This book should be read by anyone not just girls. It teaches
people that if they are molested or abused it is not their fault
especially if they are kids. They didn't do anything wrong. I would recommend this book to anyone who can read.

Tibitz: A Land Of No Lies
Published in Spiral-bound by C & G Pub (15 May, 1999)
Authors: Kenny Griswold, Nick Colachis, and Jim Colachis
Amazon base price: $12.95
Average review score:

good for adults and children
Tibitz puts "lying" into perspective, in that, it is destructive and wrong. Adults, as well as children should read this book and use its simple message - lying is something that you should not do. Children will relate to this book as it is cleverly written and the illustrations are both informative and colorful.

A fantastic story!!
This book is written for children to instill values of honesty and morals. Despite that it is written for children, I read it and found it amazing. I am 31 years old with no children but found it inspirational. I, as an adult, appreciated its simplicity. We all make life more complicated than it has to be. The world of Tititz is ideal and can be achieved if we all just strive to be happy and appreciate those around us. Everyone should read this book. It is worth the short time it takes to read and will be a book you will want to read over and over and share with those around you. If you have children, it is a definite must.

I loved it and you will too.
My mom recently bought me this book I think that I have read it one too many times. I still read it often to my friends and have even shared it with some of my teachers.

No Time To Say Goodbye: Surviving the Suicide of a Loved One
I found this book to be extroadinarily helpful. My husband took his life a year ago. After he suicided, I started reading every thing I could find about suicide. This book expressed every emotion that I have felt. It touched me. The book helped me to realize that my emotions, anger and grief were normal and felt by other survivors. I was not alone in what I was going through. I found No Time To Say Goodbye so moving that I have given away about 20 copies to friends and family. If you want to know what a suicide survivor is feeling, how they are coping then this book is a must read.

A suicide support group in a hard cover.
In a frantic attempt to understand the sudden suicide of my brother, I read numerous suicide related titles. Carla Fine's "No Time to Say Goodbye : Surviving the Suicide of a Loved One" was the only book which in anyway connected with my raw feelings as a survivor. It's not a great academic study of suicide. The professional, academic titles are painfully remote, inaccurate and inadequate from a survivor's perspective. "No Time to Say Goodbye:" doesn't answer the only question that matters most to survivors, "Why?". It provides a supporting context for the horrendous assault on a survivor's emotional and intellectual resources following a loved one's suicide. Knowing that others feel the same things doesn't make the pain go away, but reassures that probably you too will survive what feels unbearable. I personally found this book more helpful that the visits to "professional" counselors. Some things in life have to be experienced, not studied, to be understood. Sadly the author has the painful real life credentials to understand and connect with survivors. From her own traumatic loss Carla Fine has provided a great measure of help in what appears to be a helpless situation.

Highly Recommended
If you are a survivor of suicide or know someone that has lost a loved one to a suicide, this book will let you know that you are not alone. It tells many individual stories but also the author ties in her own experience losing her husband to suicide. Also if you need help consoling someone who has been through suicide I recommend this book. I myself am a survivor this book comforted me.

you'll enjoy this if...
You read it and the other 11 Christy Miller books before you read the Christy Miller college books. I had a hard time reading this book because of the fact that I had read The Christy and Todd: The College Years series first. I was used to the twenty-something Christy who had been dating Todd for awhile when I started this ( won't give away the ending of the College years trilogy) and then I got to read about Christy as a teen. It was a little hard to get rid of the annoying, child-like habits of Christy Miller aged 14. But this book does have some good points. Christy learns that decisions you make can affect your life. She learns this through Todd and one of Todd's friends. Her Aunt Marti is an overbearing character, though. For the bulk of the book Christy is trying to find herself and wants to be cool. But through Todd and his friends, she discovers that there is more to life than being cool, and she makes a summer promise she'll never forget. A good read overall. Just take my advice and don't read the college books first.

A Great Start to a Great Series
'Summer Promise' is a great book. It is definitly one of my favorites, not just of the series, but of all Ms. Gunn's books. In this story, Christina Juliet Miller, better known as Christy, spends the summer with her Aunt and Uncle in Newport Beach, California. While her Uncle Bob is a nice, caring man; her Aunt Martha seems very fake and superficial. Aunt Marti gives Christy a makeover, completly changing her from the plain Wisconson girl she was. She buys her a new, mature wardrobe and a lot of make-up. Christy makes friends with a girl on the beach (Alissa); and has her first run-in with Todd. I'd say more, but I don't want to give the story away! Even though the story is a third person narrative, the author makes you feel like you're there with Christy. I love this book (I've read it twice), and reccomend this to any teen girl in the mood for a good Christian story.

Go, go Christy Miller!!!
14-year-old Christy Miller from a small town in Wisconsin visits her Aunt Marti and Uncle Bob in sunny California. Aunt Marti takes one look at her and decides that Christy needs a new makeover, to be 'the real Christy Miller'. Aunt Marti spoils Christy by getting her a new hairstyle, new stylish clothes, make-up, and gives her tips on becoming good friends with the kids at the beach. The thing is, Christy is not sure who the real Christy is, the way she is, or the way her Aunt Marti is. Then she meets Todd, the perfect guy from her dreams. Todd is different and when she asks why, she finds out that it's because he's a Christian. But she's a Christian, too, and what does he mean when he keeps talking about 'accepting Jesus as his Savior'? As she ponders on this new look on Christianity, she deals with also an unexpected death of a friend and trying to get Todd to like her. But should she make him like her for what she is trying to be, perfect? Or maker him like her for who she is?

A wonderful Christian book, definitely one of my favorite books. The characters and the situations are so beliavable and real so when I read the Christy Miller books, I think about how what she learns can be applied to my life too! I want to be like Christy, Todd, and their friends, a lover of Jesus, our Savior.

Bleak House: A Novel of Connections (Twayne's Masterwork Studies, No 42)
Published in Hardcover by Twayne Pub (January, 1990)
Authors: Norman Page and Robert Lecker
Amazon base price: $23.95
Used price: $10.59
Collectible price: $17.67
Bleak House is a satirical look at the Byzantine legal system in London as it consumes the minds and talents of the greedy and nearly destroys the lives of innocents--a contemporary tale indeed. Dickens's tale takes us from the foggy dank streets of London and the maze of the Inns of Court to the peaceful countryside of England. Likewise, the characters run from murderous villains to virtuous girls, from a devoted lover to a "fallen woman," all of whom are affected by a legal suit in which there will, of course, be no winner. The first-person narrative related by the orphan Esther is particularly sweet. The articulate reading by the acclaimed British actor Paul Scofield, whose distinctive broad English accent lends just the right degree of sonority and humor to the text, brings out the color in this classic social commentary disguised as a Victorian drama. However, to abridge Dickens is, well, a Dickensian task, the results of which make for a story in which the author's convoluted plot lines and twists of fate play out in what seems to be a fast-forward format. Listeners must pay close attention in order to keep up with the multiple narratives and cast of curious characters, including the memorable Inspector Bucket and Mr. Guppy. Fortunately, the publisher provides a partial list of characters on the inside jacket. (Running time: 3 hours; 2 cassettes)

Nothing bleak about this...
After years without picking up a novel by Dickens (memories of starchy classes at school), I decided to plunge into "Bleak House", a novel that had been sitting on my bookshelf for about ten years, waiting to be read. Although I found it heavy going at first, mainly because the style is so unfamiliar to modern readers, after about ten pages I was swept up and carried off, unable to put the hefty tome down until I had finished it. This book is a definite classic. The sheer scope of the tale, the wit of the satire (which could still be applied to many legal proceedings today) and the believable characters gripped me up until the magnificent conclusion. One particularly striking thing is the "cinematic" aspect of certain chapters as they switch between different angles, building up to a pitch that leaves the reader breathless. I can't recommend "Bleak House" too highly. And I won't wait so long before reading more Dickens novels.

Magnificent House.
This is the second book by Dickens I have read so far, but it will not be the last. "Bleak House" is long, tightly plotted, wonderfully descriptive, and full of memorable characters. Dickens has written a vast story centered on the Jarndyce inheritance, and masterly manages the switches between third person omniscient narrator and first person limited narrator. His main character Esther never quite convinces me of her all-around goodness, but the novel is so well-written that I just took Esther as she was described and ran along with the story. In this book a poor boy (Jo) will be literally chased from places of refuge and thus provide Dickens with one of his most powerful ways to indict a system that was particularly cruel to children. Mr. Skimpole, pretending not to be interested in money; Mr. Jarndyce, generous and good; Richard, stupid and blind; the memorable Dedlocks, and My Lady Dedlock's secret being uncovered by the sinister Mr. Tulkinghorn; Mrs. Jellyby and her telescopic philanthropy; the Ironmaster described in Chapter 28, presenting quite a different view of industralization than that shown by Dickens in his next work, "Hard Times." Here is a veritable cosmos of people, neighbors, friends, enemies, lovers, rivals, sinners, and saints, and Dickens proves himself a true master at describing their lives and the environment they dwell in. There are landmark chapters: Chapter One must be the best description of a dismal city under attack by dismal weather and tightly tied by perfectly dismal laws, where the Lord Chancellor sits eternally in Lincoln's Inn Hall. Chapter 32 has one of the eeriest scenes ever written, with suspicious smoke, greasy and reeking, as a prelude to a grisly discovery. Chapter 47 is when Jo cannot "move along" anymore. This Norton Critical is perhaps the best edition of "Bleak House" so far: the footnotes help a lot, and the two Introductions are key to understanding the Law system at the time the action takes place, plus Dickens' interest in this particular topic. To round everything off, read also the criticism of our contemporaries, as well as that of Dickens' time. "Bleak House" is a long, complex novel that opens a window for us to another world. It is never boring and, appearances to the contrary, is not bleak. Enjoy.

Wonderful Book
Umm, I thought the book was too short! I fell in love with the book within the first ten words, and like all love affairs, this one ended too quickly. For those who thought Bleak House was dull, boring, lengthy, and wordy, may I suggest a television reality show?

Ok, ok, so I am a bit old to be reading such books. . .But I thought it would be interesting to look back at some of the books I used to read back in the day. To my surprise, I found this book! Say Cheese and Die! is one of my favorite scary books of all time. Initially, I had read this book because I loved the picture! Still do. . .Anyways, It is about a boy named Greg who obtains a camera, though kind of an old camera, and takes pictures with it! (obviously!) But it appears the camera is broke. It doesn't show everybody in the picture! What's up with that? Greg soon unveils a haunting revelation which may put his own life in harms way! How can he convince others that this camera is more than just broken--it's EVIL!?

This is a fun book to read and I would recommend it to all middle schoolers! Of course, if you really enjoy a good horror, by all means read it regardless of age! Well, I did, anyways. ;)

SAY CHEESE AND DIE
Say Cheese And Die

Who won't like a book about an evil camera that does bad things? After reading this book you will have to sleep with a night light on. I would recommend this book to all Goosebumps fans. It is a Fantastic book from R.L.Stine and it is his fourth Goosebumps book.

Say Cheese And Die is about a boy named Greg you finds an old camera in an abandoned old house. But bad things start happening his dad gets in an accident his friend Michael falls down the stairs and his friend Shari disappears. Also a man named Spidey is stalking Greg to get the camera back. This book will leave chills and thrills down your spine. I think part of the reason this book is good is because it has a good author, the author R.L. Stine.

It has a lot of action like the scene when it was Greg and Shari vs. Spidey. It has mystery like the scene on where they where searching for Shari when she disappeared. And it has horror though the whole book. So I hope you read this fascinating book Say Cheese And Die.

"One picture is worth a thousand screams."
I was addicted to these books when I was younger and it wasn't until I was majoring in education in college that I figured out why. They were interesting with bizarre plot twists that most 9-12 year olds don't think about and they were short (usually between 110-130 pages). I could read the whole thing in a day.

My parents also didn't have a lot of heartache with buying me a new book because these are relatively inexpensive (in the neighborhood of 3-5 bucks each).

R.L. Stine's "Goosebumps" books aren't scary, just kind of creepy. There aren't graphic descriptions of murder and mayhem. Just some ghosts, werewolves, or potions. The main character is alive in the end, and the final chapter resolves everything.

**Keep in mind, R.L. Stine has other books that aren't in the "Goosebumps" series that tend to be a little harsher when it comes to hauntings and plot. They are written more for the 12-14 age group and are longer (around 150-200 pages).
