This is an excellent work on the development of time-tested
strategies to invest. For instance, analysts watch for
a levelling of the market (near the top); whereby, companies
hire large staffs and raise money in the markets. Astute
investors watch for over-valuations. Industry bottoms are
critical to identify. Sometimes industries vanish or they
improve with added investment-private or government.
Smart investors identify stocks with increased earnings.
Occasionally, an OTC stock will have a good balance sheet
with no term debt. Look for a current ratio of better than 2:1.
In the late 1980s, the Japanese market was overpriced.
The authors advise against investing in complicated derivative
instruments because these activities may detract from
monitoring the fundamentals in downturns or upticks.
The authors provide specific investment firms experienced in
the art of performance monitoring. i.e. Cambridge Associates,
Warburg and Charter Oak (hedge fund). The book is a worthy
investment if you intend to monitor the personal portfolio
of stocks and funds.

This is a great book for girls age 9-14. As a mom of a 12 year old, I was estatic to see the broad range of subjects covered from managing money, to earning money now, to career choice. And though the title is Money, the book also contains an interview with a musician who passes up a chance for lots of money to do what she loves. There is also an article about earning money by cleaning, which also talks about the joy of doing chores for free to make someone else happy. A great book!

Bob Proctor is a pioneer in personal transformation. Together with his protege Michele Blood, they have created an audio program that has changed my thinking. I now feel free to create my life according to the beliefs I have developed over my lifetime. My favorite topic is the one on Synergy, and Bob and Michele are an excellent example of that concept! I highly recommend this audio program to anyone who is ready to make radical changes in their life.

Exactly what it promises to be, "Numerology for Beginners" is an introduction to the study of numerology. Written in a basic, easy to understand manner, a complete novice can start examining the implications of numbers in their life right away. The single digit method of numerology is discussed and interpretations provided for each number and aspect. Each of your most influential numbers is examined as to how it affects character traits, energy levels, opportunities, and relationships. Gerie Bauer also discusses the vowel and consonant interpretation of names and how these can be used to understand your personality or the personality of others. For those interested in a basic introduction into numerology "Numerology for Beginners" is a recommended read.

First published in 1918 this novel will keep you laughing. Characters are richly built in this story of a millionaire who gives a portion of his money to unknown cousins and then goes to live there incognito to see how they spend it. Who will be worthy of the rest of his millions? Will his disguise really work? Read this funny, thoroughly entertaining novel to find out. This is a great book for family reading. Enjoy!

Mr. Aldrich is an incredible thinker and writer. He objectively describes the various class structures in America and the values that accompany them. The book evinces that there is an inherent responsibility that goes along with financial success in this democratic society and what can result if there is an abrogation of that resonsibility.The book is written from a generous standpoint in that Mr. Aldrich genuinely shares himself with the reader. It is indeed "a gift" the "pietas" that Mr. Aldrich so eloquently describes.

I never got to see the off-Broadway production but I loved the film and reading this play is the next best thing!

In many ways, this is a better written story than "Wall Street" or "Barbarians at the Gate." It is technically accurate and really gives you a flavor of high finance in the 1980s. Like "Glengarry Glen Ross," it really gets at the heart and mind of the people in the business.

MARCUS DID A VERY THOROUGH JOB OF NOT ONLY SCRIPTURE SEARCH, BUT OF PULLING THE SCRIPTURES TOGETHER TO GIVE A CLEAR PICTURE OF WHAT OUR RIGHTFUL HERITAGE IS AS A CHRISTIAN! I KNEW MOST OF THE SCRIPTURES, BUT HE PULLED IT ALL TOGETHER, SO THAT I GAINED MUCH INSIGHT THAT I HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN LACKING IN. BUT THE BEST PART IS, HE TAUGHT HOW TO ACTUALLY TAKE AHOLD OF THAT HERITAGE.

When I bought this book, I was looking for something to guide me and my husband during this difficult economic climate. "Our Money, Ouselves for Couples" offers practical, easy to implement advice for anyone who is trying to get a grasp on their personal finances. This is a great book for married couples, unmarried couples, and business partners!

This is THE book to turn to when fixing up your home to sell, or even if you are just looking for inexpensive fix-ups--this book covers everything, from each room individually, to the house as a unit, to even how to make the best of a bad view from the windows. Also, there is an extremely good section on how to decide whether you should or shouldn't use a broker to sell your home, how to conduct a home tour, etc.

Best of all, not only are most of the suggestions at or under $100, even though the book is a bit old ('86), they are things that anyone can do--not major undertakings which require a contractor.There are black and white photos of before and after rooms, which really show how just a little money, spent wisely, can make a huge difference in how your home will look to a potential buyer. Using this book as a guide, any home can show (and sell!) like a model home.

I loaned my copy out once and never got it back. Luckily I was able to purchase a used paperback copy (for $2 more than the original price!!), but there is a reason why it is priced $$$ on ZShops. This book really needs to be in print again--the other books on the market are a waste of money compared to this one.
