Confederate Money Insights
This book is great!! It accurately tracks much of the war. The adventure brings this time period alive and answers many questions about how the war actual ended for the South in Florida. The decline in the value of Confederate money, The benevelance of the people of the time, and the tendency to do good in hard times are central themes of the book. One is caught up in the adventure to the point that it is hard to put the book down. The battles at Shiloh Church, Chicamauga, and Olustee receive excellent coverage. However, the best parts to me were rescue of some white slaves that Sherman sent north, and the daring raid on the Confederate treasury as the war ended and the treasury was being divided in Archer Florida. A must read.

Confessions of a Sex Crazed Money Man: Alternatives to Twelve-Step Groups, Poverty & the American Way
Published in Paperback by Excalibur Pr (July, 1992)
Author: Alex S. Gabor
Amazon base price: $9.95
Average review score:

Who is this guy?
Former Mortgage Banker Gabor shares the agony of a collapsing marriage and failing businesses, his outrage at the Internal Revenue Service and societies phony restrictions, and his philosophy---freedom from tyranny for all Americans. A few have said that if this book could sell a million copies the military industrial complex, their financiers and the IRS would be out of business. Only 2,000 copies of this book were ever put into print. The author is rumored to be buying them back for prices ranging between $2,000 and $5,000 making a market in them like a stock or a bond. The book is now a rare collectors item, racy, raunchy, visionary...there has never been such a rationale for polygamy...a once famous Seattle radio talk show host says this is one of the first books in a new genre created by Gabor called "Kiss and Tell on yourself"....learn the inner thoughts and feelings of someone labeled a "sex addict" by the psychological professions....Sexaholics Letters, Journals and Poetry tell all. There is nothing like it, and his next book, "The Second Coming of the Sex Crazed Money Man" will soon be published by the Free and Clear Press documenting how he became the worlds first trillionaire. Who is he? Buy the book and find out.

Controversies in Monetary Economics

A ground-breaking book in monetary economics
This is a ground-breaking and truly original book in monetary economics. Smithin shows that neo-classical economists fail to understand money, because all neo-classical models are essentially based on various forms of barter paradigm (e.g. Walras' general equilibrium theory). In such models, money serve as "lubricants" only, and have no real impacts on economy.

Smithin rigorously develop an heterodox macroeconomic model. In this model, interest rate (as determined by the Federal Reserve) play pivotal roles, and money have real impacts on economy.

I highly recommend this book to graduate students in economics, or intelligent readers who desire to understand what money really is. For a more accessible and less mathematical treatment on money and political economy, you may try "Macroeconomic Policy and the Future of Capitalism" by the same author.

An Excellent Book for the Craps Beginner
If you are just learning to play craps, this is the book you need to read before you risk any money in the casino. Mr Medansky does an excellent job of covering the basics of how to play, but then goes beyond this recommends important money managment and betting guidelines.

Those craps players looking for a system will find one in Mr. Medansky's book. He discloses his evaluation of the system using The Craps System Tester and even his results playing the system in Las Vegas Casinos.

I like Mr. Medansky's sidebar chapters, too, on the history of the game, comps and craps trivia...

Creating a Functional¿a must have for parents
This book has a lot of parenting tips that are very useful and relevant in the millennium. The authors rightly say that children have the upper hand nowadays, especially when both parents have to work and thus have no time to discipline the children. The authors espouse a democratic parenting style, where both the parents and the children treat each other with mutual respect and dignity. I am a middle school guidance counselor and I talk to both the parents and students. This book serves as a great teaching reference for parenting skills and as an invaluable resource for me as a mother of a spunky three year old boy. A great book!

very helpful information
I read this book after starting my new job as a debt collector and it helped me to triple the amount i was collecting the month after I read it. I only read the areas that directly affected my specific job, so I can only speak for some of the book, but what i did read was well written and very informative. A definite for anyone collecting or dealing with credit collectors.

Crime of 1873: The Comstock Connection
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Robert R. Van Ryzin's "CRIME of 1873: THE COMSTOCK CONNECTION". This meticulously researched book offers an original perspective on one of the most colorful chapters in U.S. history. Of particular interest are the previously unpublished letters that expose the collusion of a high government official with a powerful California banker. Interwoven throughout Van Ryzin's story is the lore of gold and silver strikes and the characters who made mining in the West such an important part of American history. This book takes a close look at the creation of the U.S. Trade dollar, the Morgan silver dollar, and the famous Carson City Mint. Van Ryzin's chapter on the Free Silver Movement gives insight into this often misunderstood political movement, led by William Jennings Bryan. With financial wrongdoing ever present in contemporary reporting, the CRIME of 1873 drives home to readers that having the best government money can buy nothing unique to our times.
