Money

This is really a must have. I handled my own chapter 13, start to finish with this one. Even handled the emergency filing to get mean ole nasty pasty creditors that were harassing me intentionally off my case. I was even able to file a complaint with them thru the bankruptcy courts. This book references this, and I called the clerks office, and checked out web sites, and this book gave me the confidence, to file a complaint against these creditors. The interderagatorys are fanstasic. THese really helped me out, at my creditors meetings. I was able to even able to pursue a wage garnishment out of my soon to b X's pay check. This was the only way I was going to keep my stuff. I really enjoyed I must say representing my self. It is really not that hard, and more of u folks out there need to try it. They really don't chew ya up and spit ya out like everyone believes. It was not that stress ful, after everything was filed. Actually, It was nice to bask in the quiteness of the emeregency filing. My phone quit ringing. It was soooo nice. This one belongs rite up there with my bible. It was a thrill I must say to stand in line to file my paper work, schedules, and yes, I even filed a motion.! It was great standing there next to some of my towns high power bankruptcy attorneys. ONly thing, I have to say, when attorneys, start offering free advise, have a pen ready to write. I also learned be nice as pie to the clerks. They are so busy, and swamped with work. U will be glad you had patience. Patience is a virtue on this one as far as filings go. THe creditors meetings went well, I even drafted my own propsals of what I wanted, to happend. I even learned how to contest the amount of my truck, and did so, and requested the interest rate be dropped. I got just what I wanted. It actually was not as a terrible as we are taught in society to think. Oh my she/he file bankruptcy. It was not that bad, and also the bankruptcy court I went to, had a class on how to balance your budget, and it was very informational. Dom't feel bad if you have to do this someday. It happens to the bestest of us. IF you do this is definitely the book you wanna seek. I have compared up to some of the competetions, and I felt this one was the easy one to use. Plainest english. Simplest terms. I didnot feel intimidated at all by this book. This book covered all the bases, and then some. Others books I feel were not as complete as this one was. I researched books and sat down and looked thru them at my local book store. THis one won hands down. I must say, it is flexible, easy to tote with you, easy to put in babys bag, and easy to tote on bike with grocerys, and easy to clean up. I spilled coffee on mine... wipes up great. I highly recoimmend this book as a great place to start for anyone who needs help getting their finances and budget in order. Along with solid fiancial advice, the workbook includes areas for you to write about your own experiences and lessons that you've been taught regarding money and money issues. It is important for someone who wants to get their personal economics under control to understand the forces which work against them: specifically their own bad habits and ideas about how money does/should work.
But the most important part of this book is the budget worksheets already laid our ready to be filled. It becomes easy to log all reciepts and track expenses with this workbook since the spreadsheets are already designed for you. I have recently completed the 12 months and will now continuing to use the same spreadsheets for the next 12 months. This year, i paid off both of my credit card debts and am now focusing my attention to the larger, lifelong task of paying off my school loans. I have personally recommended this book to two close friends who showed frustration with their finances and willingness to learn. Now i recommend this book to everyone else. Thank you Glinda.

I highly recommend this book to anyone. Especially people who feel they don't make enough money to live their dreams. This book shows you how it's not how much you make, but what you do with what you have. It is simplistic in its style which makes it perfect for one not knowing how to handle money. Giving you basic everyday principles to apply and think about. With great examples of how we take our money for granted and use it poorly and how not to. Covering setting goals, budgeting, purchasing cars, real estate, insurance, investment, traveling and more.

Kirzner and Croft have written a no-nonsense, down-to-earth book of advice on investing for the confused lot! Their well written guide is not only practical, but also includes information from the academic world of finance: important studies are briefly summmarized and enhance the concepts presented. This is also a book of great interest for Canadian investors because it provides information and examples specific to the Canadian markets and tax system. In the sea of investment advice books for US investors, it surely can be considered a life-vest for the Canadian investor. Irreplaceable!

This Book is the greatest! It perfectly defines just how horrible President Clinton is!

When my children were babies, this book was my favorite. It gives you hints on what you need for every occasion. For example, my car was always stocked with everything I needed because the book told me what to keep in the car. When we went on an airplane, this book was my reference. I used it daily at first. When my second baby came along, the book went to the hospital with me to remind me of what I needed to do to get ready to take my child home. Unfortunately, it is now out of print. I have been searching for it so can I have it on hand to give to friends who are pregnant. My copy is so worn that it has rubber bands around it to hold it together. Buy it while you can!

This is a good book. We used it in '96 to negotiate a good lease, and we're getting ready to use it again. It has lots of helpful info and advice without adding "fluff." It's short and to the point--a fast read, and NOT BORING.

I, as well as many others, see NO Fun in getting organized. Although I have been "at times" and felt the joy of being able to find items within a moment's notice, I've always fallen backa to my old pack rat ways. Company comes over; friends drop by and my place is in a constant state of FLUX & Chaos. Then I had seen Ms. Koopersmith as a SpokesPerson on QVC, the Shopping Channel (in May of 97, I believe) & was immediately hooked by her charisma, poise & confidence as she showed one & all - millions of shoppers, about how a person, as myself, can get organized. She was repping a product line at that time, but I found out about her Book & accompanying Video a few weeks later; ordered both & now, every day make it a Passion to stay organized. The Book is my new Outline to Life as I analyze what she is attempting to do. And, yes, it has given me proven, positive results already. People have stopped in; friends have unexpected dropped by & they do not have to crawl over mountains of paper or boxes that seem to have "no home." If there is one book, I now highly recommend to everyone - whether it's for a young person in their formative years (needing to know how to be an Organized Individual) OR a college student going away from home for the first time & thrown into the throngs of a tight, dormitory cubicle, it's to read & DO as Linda says. Don't do as I do - DO as the Professional, The Beverly Hills Organizer says. Linda has a 30 Second Rule that is Golden in my Book (pun intended). It reads as: IF you take it out; put it back. Life couldn't get any simple than that. My environment couldn't look any better once I abide by that Philosophy. Many of the Pages have listings and places where I can check items off. This is very convenient. It's evidently PC-generated and makes for very easy reading & understanding. Ms. Koopersmith tackles IT all. I know I will be buying many of these Books as the Holidays roll in. I want to be organized and this is the only way via the Methods presented by The Beverly Hills Organizer, Ms. Linda Koopersmith, in which I can make a clear-cut & clean sweep as we all collectively enter Century 21! She knows how to do it & I commend her for taking the time to help others who have no idea on how to tackle this on-going Situation - Situation: Clutter! Three Cheers & 3 Stars for The Book that totally changed my life. In due time, since my home, studio & business are in better working order, I will then have the time to read MORE Amazon.com Books - indeed opening up more doors of opportunity for me. Those which had been closed since I was too busy trying to sort thru piles of papers, files & who knows what! In final summary, "I did not know Organizing could be SO much fun & it's actually good for you!" Koopersmith puts The ZING into OrganiZING. Who could ask for more!

This book makes an important contribution to the study of legislative institutions, not so much because of its content but in its original examination of a much neglected subject. Bicameralism is an important political institution that has been under examined by public choice scholars. The authors build a coherent positive theory of bicameralism and back it up with empirical analysis. A first rate job. A must read for students of legislative organization and Jesse Ventura (who advocates a unicameral legislature).

This academically intense book deals with the issue of media concentration and control by the corporate giants - a concern that of course has been dealt with in the more famous books "The Media Monopoly" by Bagdikian, "Manufacturing Consent" by Herman and Chomsky, and numerous others. But Bettig and Hall's book has the advantage of cutting edge coverage of the contemporary (for the time being) effects of the lack of diversity in the media, and a fast-paced and thought-provoking writing style. This is most evident in the authors' research into how modern media reports on itself, especially the internal reactions from media players to the mega-mergers of the late 90's. Up-to-date examinations of the movie and music industries are another plus, including the ongoing debate over piracy and how that populist craze has inevitably succumbed to humble copyright laws, regardless of the big-money corporate crackdown. Great insights in the second half of the book include how advertising is designed to preach the ideology of consumerism, with the media (and recently, the schools) being used by advertisers as compliant tools in a nearly religious quest for unyielding capitalism. The book wraps up with a bang as Bettig and Hall examine the media's hideously one-sided treatment of globalization protesters, which of course supports the position of the corporate media oligopoly. This short but jam-packed book is essential for the understanding of the dire cultural, political, and economic effects of the corporate concentration of the modern media. [~doomsdayer520~]
