a page-turner!
A one-of-a-kind book! I've never seen any other book on the shelves that discusses this topic. Certainly not as thoroughly as Mr. Paradise covers it. It's obvious he's done his homework. The research and time spent talking to the experts is also apparent.
I'm a librarian and I read a couple of hundred books a year so I don't waste any time on books I don't find interesting. I couldn't put this book down! Despite the catchy title this is a fun book to read. I'd recommend it to anyone interested in keeping abreast of current events of anyone who just wants to read a darned good book.

a stunner
the definitive guide to commercial counterfitting available on the market.

Paul really delivers the goods in this page turning expose'.

Why isn't this book in print?
I have several economic books, yet this book (written by economic investment professionals) is the most understandable, readable, and usable book on economics I know of. You can understand this material without knowing economics! Since it gives web site addresses for the actual data, you can view the economic results online or sign up to have the results e-mailed to you. It includes tables, so you have a comparison guide to help you figure out whether the data fits in the recession, recovery or expansion phases. As someone who came to economics through the back door (from observation of the markets), economic data does MOVE the markets......This book should be considered essential for traders or investors!

The most important book a trader will ever read
The new edition of "Trading The Fundamentals" is a book no trader should be without.

This book explains what is important about each release, how they are compiled, and how the market interprets them.

If I could choose only one book - THIS WOULD BE IT.

A Great Loss!
Another marvelous work from Mr. Meyer. Unfortunately there may be no further publications from this gifted lecturer, author and spiritual leader. Chuck Meyer died in a traffic accident on November 13,2000. I had the opportunity to hear Chuck lecture on many occasions and found him to be always inspiring, as well as personable and humorous. Hopefully his wonderful work and writings will continue to live on as a testimony to this man's spirit.

A great model of parent-adolescent communication!
This is a book I have given to my three children (ages 16, 18, and 21)along with the wish that I had the wisdom and courage to write and speak so forthrightly with them about issues and challenges that face them and us as a family. Chuck Meyer tackles the tough topics like sex and alcohol in a way that guides and empowers his readers--and, of course, catches their interest, but he also writes engagingly about friendships and career choices and parents. As the mother of two daughters, I found his words to his daughter about the difficult dance that daughters and mothers do so they can separate from one another beautiful--and helpful.

Don't wait for a graduation-gift opportunity. This is a book of comfort, wisdom, humor, and help for parents and teenagers.

The Ultimate No B.S., No Holds Barred, Kick Butt, Take No Prisoners, and Make Tons of Money Business Success Book (Self-Counsel Business Series)

Excellent
I'm amazed -- Where else can you get so much great business advice for so little money? This is an absolute must read for anybody who is starting their own business. If you really want to know what it takes to be successfully self-employed -- read this book. Hard core advice for people who want to succeed in business. As true today as it was in 1993 when Dan wrote it.

Loved it!
I've always been a big fan of Dan Kennedy. I don't subscribe to his marketing newsletter anymore because life has taken me elsewhere. (Actually, I need fewer clients, not more).

I read this book several years ago, and I read it at least twice more after that. I truly love this book as well as all of his other titles. What makes Dan Kennedy and this book in particular, click with me, is his contrarian approach to business and life. Dan has a high school diploma and that's it. He is street smart and self-taught. I love those nitty gritty real life "in the trenches" business war stories. You know the old saying, "Those who can do, those who can't teach." Dan has done it all, and then he teaches it. I'm glad he does.

One of the things that has always struck me about his writing is his sarcastic writing style. It's so "in your face." It's not sugar coated "feel good" stuff that goes away after you put the book down. It's real common sense. It works because he's done it. He's living proof of having done it, and this is a great collection of war stories. For the price, it's a steal.

I'm giving this book 5 stars because of originality and real-life examples. I found myself laughing much of the time at the hilarity of some of the stories.

Apparently, this book is out of stock or out of print. I would recommend using a search service to locate a good used copy. You certainly can't have my copy!

Seeing the "wood from the trees" with financial data
The business world is currently faced by concerns such as corporate governance, audit accuracy and management accountability. These concerns are affecting corporate and market credibility. There is a need for an investor tool kit to see the "wood through trees" within all the financial data that is currently available. This book provides the framework for just such a tool kit.

Stockpicker will initiate a new method of company valuation. It provides a fresh look at the often forgotten, but extremely important measure of free cash flow.

The Roadmap model addresses a complex problem by applying Theory of Constraints measures and pattern recognition. This enable focus by both an investor and the incumbent management on what the company should really be about.

The release of this book is both though provoking and timely.

Top Stock Picker
An excellent book that gives new insight to the study of stocks and investing. Mr. Putz a leading expert in Theory of Constants has combined that theory and Profit Pattern Theory to provide an easy to apply method to the selection of quality stocks.

The authors have provide detail explanations of both TOC and profit patterns so that even the novice can easily apply this approach. The book also includes spreadsheets to use to perform easy analysis of your stocks.

If you are looking for a method to use for long term investing this may well be the book for you.

Good general-purpose book
A good general-purpose finance book. Covers pretty much all the bases and is straight-forward.

This makes it perfect not only for someone just starting off to make sure they're on the right track, but also for people who are trying to put their finances back in order. Also great for those who may be established but just want to use their money more wisely.

If you're really only interested in investment info though, I would suggest buying a different book specifically on the topic.

A fantastic book that covers all aspects of personal finance
This is a great book to find out all types of information about personal finances. It includes buying a house, a car, mutual funds, stocks, insurance, credit cards, and more. I learned something new on every page. The book is written in a very easy language to understand.

He's even better in person!
I have seen Peter Meyer speak on his book tour, and he is as lively a speaker as he is a writer. Although I work in the public sector, I found his ideas interesting and his insights just as applicable to my profession. I strongly recommend checking out his book and taking any opportunity to see him speak in person.

Prudent Velocity
Meyer explains that "This book is about how to reach and sustain warp speed." If that is your business objective, Meyer provides a wealth of information, advice, checklists, graphics, strategies and tactics, flow charts, etc. Part One ("Foundations") introduces his basic concepts. Part Two ("Resources and Applications") focuses on growth and domination of markets, creation and leadership of new markets, management of human capital, the role of technology, and then -- in the 12th and final chapter -- "Warp-Speed Growth: Managing a Business Built for Speed."

In the final chapter, Meyer provides Chart 12-1, "Platform chart for sustainable warp-speed growth" which is first-rate. It correlates all of his key concepts previously discussed in Chapters 1-12 while suggesting a framework within which any organization can more effectively organize its own key information. "Where Do You Start?" Meyer suggests that you invest time to define success criteria and limit options. Next, consider creating and then dominating an entirely new market. Meanwhile, balance your resources as you formulate a strategic plan for their allocation. As that plan is implemented, be constantly alert to better ways in which to invest your resources. Finally, enjoy yourself: "The rewards of sustainable growth should be personal as well as corporate."

Perhaps your organization is currently experiencing little (if any) growth. Perhaps "sluggish" correctly describes its usual response to new opportunities, customer problems, a competitor's initiatives, changes in the marketplace, etc. Perhaps your organization needs to eliminate clutter, confusion, stagnation, and complacency. If any of this is true, Peter Meyer's book can be helpful. However, I presume to offer a few caveats:

1. The more serious the problems you seek to solve, the more difficult it will be to solve them. Hence the importance of strategic priorities.

2. Also, the worst problems have probably been caused by your own people, many of whom may still be around. Guess who will be most resistant to change?

3. "Warp-Speed Growth" must be prudent growth.

4. It is far easier to attain "Warp-Speed" but than it is to sustain it. Unless you and your organization are both willing and able to make a long-term commitment, forget it.

5. Finally, as Meyer repeatedly emphasizes, an organization's most valuable resources are its time, people, and money. They must be managed and conserved BY EVERYONE INVOLVED with meticulous care.

Of course, it is possible for an organization to attain and then sustain "Warp Speed" but be headed in the wrong direction. In ancient Rome, a traveler was often asked "Quo vadis?" Where are you going? Unless and until an organization has selected the correct destination and then remains on course, the speed at which it travels is irrelevant.

Don't wait too long to do retirement planning.
I have worked and socialized with many doctors who I thought were well off when it came to retirement savings. When they approached 60 to 65 years old, they couldn't afford to retire and maintain the lifestyle they wanted. How sad! I don't want to end up that way.

Great book! I wish they had written it sooner.
This book had everything I need to plan my retirement. Easy to read and informative, I have already recommended it to many of my colleagues. Thanks to the authors for recognizing the need for such a book for lawyers like myself.

When God is first, He redeems!
This book and its teaching have been revelatory for us. We have seen God redeem the 90% when we give Him the first 10%. The key factor is making God first! The message is this: When you recieve payment from earnings, always give the first 10th to God, before you write out a check or pay a bill, or purchase anything at all. Often times people look for quick overnight successes in the area of their finances, when in actuality, God has devised a plan whereby we CAN be successful - making God first is a sure plan to a life of financial success in and through Him. We are so glad that God has revealed this vital key of financial security to Mike Hayes. We are even more glad that God inspired this author to write this book so that many people can walk in the "blessing plan" God established when He is first. This book is a must read!

When God is First
This book is fantastic and I recommend it to everybody. I gave my copy to our Pastor and he found so much in it that he has been using it for guidelines for his sermons each week.
