I highly recommend this book. It really should be required reading, especially for couples before marriage and young people in general. While it does contain a chapter on how to get out of debt, even those who are not in debt would benefit greatly from the understanding they would gain about credit and debt.

Mr. Blue discusses "the magic of compounding interest" and how it can work for or against you. He also outlines four common sense rules that should be followed before going into debt of any kind. He specifically discusses credit card debt, car loans, and mortgages as well as church, business, and investment debt in light of the four common sense rules.

The book is well-written and easy-to-read with real-life examples. It will help those who are in debt to get out, and, if Mr. Blue's advice is followed, it will help anyone to make wise financial decisions in the future.

Anyone reading this book, and putting its ideas to work, can accomplish the goals set forth in this publication. Easy to read, practical, entertaining and truthful are but a few of the praises I place on this book. What it professes really works. I have tried it. Prior to reading this book, my wife and I had no hope of getting out of debt. Following Mr Blue's advice,with lots of faith, we are on our way out. Thanks Mr Blue.

This book isn't just for enforcement people. For someone like me who isn't a law officer and just wants to understand how terrorists and drug traffickers work, this book is great.

I always thought of terrorism and drugdealing in simplistic terms of what happens in the street. Now I understand how the system works and why our fight is so unsuccessful.

What I learned:
Our laws change slowly in response to rapid innovation by the traffickers and terrorists.

Horse-and-buggy standards for banks like "know your customer" are pointless in a modern world economy.

The worldwide supply of drugs is variegated and impossible to control. As a result, our approach to fighting drugs by cooperating with drug-producing countries is stupid. My guess is that a bread-and-butter approach of customs inspections and death penalty for dealers and launderers would work better. The mindset of modern law enforcement is dead wrong.

As icing on the cake, it was interesting to learn that the Afghanis, Arabs, and Iranians who attack America for our moral degeneration are number 1 in heroin production and smuggling.

A few disappointments:

Richards barely treated terrorists. If he had, his book would have had more mass appeal.

Some of the explanations would have been clearer with flow diagrams.

I still don't understand why layering is so effective. It sounds as if a simple computer trace would unpeel the layers.

This book is not light reading. But if you really want to know how the world works, it's worth the effort!

I became acquainted with James R. Richard's Transnational Criminal Organizations, Cybercrime, and Money Laundering : A Handbook for Law Enforcement Officers, Auditors, and Financial Investigators when it was used as a text in Utica College's Economic Crime Management Master of Science Degree program in the Advanced Economic Crime as well as the Legal Concepts of Criminal Fraud and Corporate Criminal Liability graduate courses. After quickly thumbing through it, I immediately recognized that it truly contains a bounty of useful, pertinent and relevant information.

Extremely well written, it is a well flowing, very easy read that is both highly informative and enlightening. The book provides a very extensive and detailed examination of organized criminal enterprises engaged in international financial crime. The book fully details the specific steps of the placement, layering, and integration stages of money laundering as well as fully itemizing the techniques and uses of non-financial institutions (casinos, securities et al.) in money laundering. The expanded international focus documents a very detailed and thorough examination of the scope of global financial crime. The book fully integrates an expanse of information on banking, money laundering and cybercrime basics, international criminal organizations - in both a national and international context - in a manner that is easily understood by the reader.

As a police officer, I would highly recommend this book as a "must have" for the reference shelf of federal, state, local or corporate based investigators engaged in financial crimes inquiries and analysis. For the non-professional who is interested in organized crime of a more cerebral nature, the book is more than worth the purchase price.

As a college instructor (Introduction to Economic Crime Investigation at Herkimer County Community College; Herkimer, NY), this book in invaluable to the both the instructor and the student engaged in a comprehensive review of money laundering actvities.

As a side note, Mr. Richards also gives an excellent presentation and lecture on the topics and subject matter covered in his book.

My father wrote this book. Even though I am only eleven years old I already want his job. I love to read and learn and I am very interested in this field. I read his book and I can finally understand what he's talking about at the dinner table! He now tells me about his cases in the car and I love hearing about them. This book helped me learn about things I wouldn't have learned about in college. It really opened my eyes to what was out there. Good work daddy! I was in dire need of help.This book solved all my money problems,and gave me a new outlook on life.

As a financial counselor for the military and DOD civilians, I have encountered a gereral lack of education and awareness in finanical planning. I have long searched for a text that is geared to mainstream families. The author emphasizes the need for most of us to examine the basic building blocks of wealth and position. I emphatically support this money philosophy because it works!!! How do I know? Because I have benefitted from this knowledge by establishing a debt-free, investment rich lifestyle that has allowed me to independently fund my college education, travel and retirement. If you feel that your're in over your head and can't get out, YOU ARE WRONG!

Ken Knouse has written a clear and extremely useful guide for the hordes of people sinking under the burden of consumer debt, as well as anybody who wants to have the freedom of living below their means. The fact that he, himself, was once one of the consumer debt horde gives him the kind of real-life credibility that cannot be had any other way. He and his wife are accessible role models because most readers can relate to their lives. I find the fact that they are ordinary people who have done extraordinary financial feats very inspiring. Knouse's main premise is that financial problems, in the large percentage of American homes, are a result of poor money management. What a hopeful statement! If you believe that things will only be better if you get a higher-paying job, win the lottery, etc., then achieving that goal seems quite difficult. If you believe, however, that you have sufficient funds, but insufficient skills at managing them, then change is well within your reach by simply setting yourself to learn those skills. Burkett brings to light the full repertoire of the liberal spin doctors in one concise volume. The terrifying thing in this country is the way most people believe what they are told by the government and what they hear on the news without ever stopping to ask themselves, does this really make sense? After you read this book, you'll never take anything for granted without considering what someone has to gain by convincing you. A must read for any modern day patriot.

I was both pleased and angered by this book. Larry presented his facts in a well written, no nonsense fashion. He provided all sources for the information he used. It gave me an entirely new outlook on how government intervention in every aspect of our lives has hastened the erosion of our basic "rights" as free Americans. I have read it three times and it continues to infuriate me.

This book opened my eyes to the deceptions that are being feed to each of us today. Larry Burkett exposes the EPA for who they are and gives evidence that proves the hole in the ozone layer scare is not to be believed. You will be outraged at the injustices people are sujected to by a government that is much too big and too busy tending to matters that were never meant to be handled by our law makers. Every Christian and/or person who wishes to be exposed to another version of the stories we here every day should read this book because it will reveal how important it is that we not believe something to be true because the media says it is or some government agency says it is. My way of thinking has been forever changed by reading this book.

This is a nifty book. It givesa wide view of ways that a small business entrepreneur can use the Internet to market successfully. The dot.com craze may be over, but that doesn't mean that the Internet won't continue to be a long-term vital tool in marketing for small business. With this book, any budding or seasoned entrepreneur will gain a learn of get many wokrable strategies.

As the chair of the American Bar Association's Subcommittee on Electronic Commerce, I recently reviewed this book for an upcoming issue of the South Carolina Law Review. In that review, I noted that few other works have addressed the intersection of electronic commerce and banking law, and characterized the book as "a consistently impressive combination of a treatise and a client memorandum." I found particularly useful the authors' detailed, informed, and intensely practical surveys of electronic payment technologies, regulatory actions, and judicial decisions. Separate sections, which can be read independently, are devoted to the missions and relevant activities of various regulatory agencies such as the Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Other chapters discuss security and privacy of online banking systems, the operation of stored-value systems such as Mondex and Visa Cash, online brokerage and insurance services, intellectual property online, and Internet-based jurisdiction. I believe that this book is useful not only for reference but as a survey of developments in this rapidly-moving area. In my opinion, someone who sat down and read 50 pages a night of 21st Century Money, Banking and Commerce could get painlessly in two weeks more substantive information than most seminars on electronic commerce could deliver.

This book is another page turner that I would recommend to those interested in some real life type s*&*.

this was one of the hottest books i've read, it really makes you stop and wonder it it's really worth the money... it really kept me on the edge of my seat, what an exciting and adventours book, a must go getter.
