Now I understand
I read the book Each of Us and now understand why I felt like I was on the outside of the team of computer guys I worked with last year. This book articulated things that I suspected were hindering me but I couldn't name. I am recommending this book to my friends and family.

This is a MUST READ
This is a MUST READ book if you're thinking of changing careers, have been out of the workforce, or just want to make more money. This book changed my life, and I can't say that about very many books. Because of this book, I went for jobs I would not have considered before. I had several offers, and have a job I love.

Read this book!
I have read this book and can't say enough good things about it! It's wonderful, insightful, uplifting. Even if you don't think it's what you want to do, read it. You will believe in yourself. You will want every woman you know to read it. It will make you strive for something more. It will make you happy to be you.

Best Book in my collection
This one is the most worthwhile of all the books I have read like it. There is a Real story to go with the steamy but tame sexual encounters. These boys keep Very busy throughout. I had to read it twice to keep track of who was doing who. It made me wish Mitch was a real person. Need I say more??? A must have book. Thank you Bob Condron.

Wonderfully written gay fiction
Bob Condron's Easy Money is a terrific book. Unlike other erotic novels that are merely sex scenes loosely connected by a flimsy storyline, this book has a real heart and a great story to tell. It is all about a group of talented guys who are chosen by a producer to become the next big "boy band". The story focuses on the relationships between the guys and how they deal with their meteoric rise to fame. With a great story to back it up, the sex scenes are all the more enjoyable. Some scenes are tender and sweet while others are sexy and rough. This book is a terrific addition to the Idol line of adult fiction. I hope Bob Condron will write more just like them.

hot gay fiction with a bearish twist
I enjoyed this book a lot! It has lots of hot sex, but also interesting characters - and, unlike practically all of the books in this genre, it made me laugh out loud on a number of occasions. A great holiday read - or anytime read!

When is Dr. DeRooy going to publish "More Economic Literacy?"

"Economic Literacy" was just the new coat I needed after over twenty-five years of post-college economic news flowing my way in ever increasing volume and my memory of college macro and mirco economics 101 courses worn threadbare.

Dr. DeRooy put the issues into perspective; he tells what's important. He tells why.

So much has gone on since 1993, what appears to be the last year Dr.DeRooy had all the annual statistics available to him when he wrote "Economic Literacy".

I'll buy, and recommend to all who come across this comment, "More Economic Literacy".

I laughed and learned at the same time.
This book is great! I read Economic Literacy once through, and now I find myself returning to it to refresh my memory on econ-related topics I encounter in the news or at the office. De Rooy uses a combination of brief lessons and anecdotes to relay information in a comprehensible form. I can understand best if I think of things in terms of real life experiences--Economic Literacy appeals to somebody like me because it is realistic. It is not at all lofty or overly theoretical. And hey, how many other econ books have cartoons in them? Economic Literacy makes a great gift, too! The friends with whom I shared it really enjoyed it.

The best economics textbook not found in a classroom
This book saved me in multiple economics classes, explaining terms that most books clouded with superfluous rhetoric and boring text. A must for anyone interested in money, and in that case, who isn't?

Specifically for people on a paycheck and a tight budget
Peter and Anna Lisa Montessi's Everybody Wants Your Money: A Guidebook To Keeping It is quite different from most financial guidebooks, which tend to be written for people who already have a sizeable amount of money to invest. Unlike those books, Everybody Wants Your Money is designed specifically for people on a paycheck and a tight budget; it concisely and clearly narrates strategies to save, invest, and accumulate wealth even for the most perpetually cash-strapped workers. Chapters discuss topics such as goals and plans, maintaining records, cutting back spending, saving through a checking account, balancing one's checkbook, credit, and building one's reserves. Samples, examples, forms, and questionnaires to self-test your knowledge are included throughout. Written in highly accessible language for the lay reader, Everybody Wants Your Money is a "must" for any working person looking for tips, tricks, and techniques to making their money work for them, create a college fund, put aside something for retirement, or just make a simple emergency cushion in case of unforeseen financial hardship. An excellent, "user friendly", very highly recommended financial and instructional book.

WONDERFUL
I THINK THIS BOOK SHOULD BE IN EVERYONE'S HOME AND IN THE SCHOOLS. IT IS JUST WONDERFUL. I WISHED I HAD READ THIS BOOK WHEN I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL. SO INFORMATIVE. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE AUTHORS.

I wish I had read this book 20 years ago
This is a great book on the basics of budgeting and money management. Step by step, the authors guide the novice through saving accounts, checking accounts, and how to avoid credit pitfalls.

The Everything Kids' Money Book

Author: Diane Mayr

Average review score:

An excellent resource!
The author managed to clearly and simply explain complicated financial concepts AND keep it fun and interesting for kids -- not an easy task! Topics such as saving, investing, credit, interest, reading stock quotes, history of money, etc are covered in depth. I learned quite a few things myself -- most adult personal finance books should be this easy to understand! The book has lots of games, puzzles and activities as well as some really interesting money trivia. This is a great resource for both the classroom and home.

A great resource book--and fun, too!
This book is the best of all possible worlds--fun, factual, practical, and completely appealing to kids. It contains importantinformation on what could easily be a dull subject and presents it in interesting and clear text, accessible to kids of all ages. A really terrific book.

Where was this when I was a child?
My fourth grader is reading this book, and I borrowed it to stay ahead of him. Everything you ever wanted to know is in here-- even things you didn't know you wanted to know (like why we have piggy banks.) Tough concepts like the Federal Reserve are explained in kid-friendly language, and the book is packed with riddles and games. Great for a classroom, fun to read, fast-paced, yet thorough. Highly recommended.

Everywoman's Money: Confident Investing
Everywoman's Money: Confident Investing was outstanding. Delightful read for invaluable results. Not only is Deborah Owen's writing style easy flowing -- she takes a set of complicated topics -- "recognizing the need to" and "knowing how to" save and invest -- and provided simplicity, clarity, and thoroughness. Simplicity of the complicated factors savers and investors need to consider and understand to develop good financial programs.
Clarity in the specific actions that need to be taken. Thoroughness in the breadth of savings and investment industry alternatives there are to choose from -- and guidance on making those choices.

Highly recommend this book!
Confident Investing is a terrific book for anyone who wants to understand the topic of money management and investing. It is entertaining, easy-to-read, and loaded with interesting anecdotes and "coaching tips" on how to get started and what to do! The topic of investing can seem intimidating at times, but Deborah knows how to break down all the "hard-to-understand" lingo and speak to the reader in a conversational and common sense language. I thank Deborah for giving me the motivation and knowledge level to take control of my own financial future!

"You too can invest with the best!"
Pryor to changing careers, I worked in the Brokerage/ Investment Banking Industry for 13 years and daily watched the insiders use the Stock Market wisely to build their dreams and financial futures. During those years there were very few books on the market that educated the average investor about the basics of successful investing. Debbie Owens has written Confident Investing to fill that void. Though there are many books on the subject these days, Confident Investing is one of the first books I have read that has provided the basic information and the encouragement one needs to become a successful investor.Though the book solely focuses on women, the information rings true for all novice investors. How much you invest is not the focus. Having a firm foundation about investments is key to making wise decisions with your hard earned dollars!

Debbie begins each chapter with stories about women in various life stages and how each person with financial education was able to change the course of their lives. Each women was able to make their dreams come true.

Each chapter also has coaching tips and a money therapy section to emphasis the theme for that chapter. The chapters end with a journal section to help you analysis those unspoken blocks that prevent each of us from reaching our goals. You can not read this book without wanting to make a change for the better.

I would encourage anyone who wants to achieve their financial goals to begin with this book! The best place to start is with basic information.... Debbie has "cornered the market" on that!

Kids get more than "Fast Cash"
We have had this book for over 2 years, and I have watched my 11 year old develop in her ability to choose increasingly more sophisticated jobs. This book is a great tool for children to develop a creative business sense. The ideas are practical and attainable for children to produce. As they work out the details of a chosen task, they can learn business ethics and how work well done can increase their earning potential as well. My daughter was interested and encouraged by the section on stories of famous and successful entrepreneurs who started creating various projects as children. This book is definitely worth buying.

Exellcent and helpful book.
exellcent book. Has some faboules ideas. It is a must read for any children.

Fabulous, with real-kid examples of success
I have only skimmed it, but am ordering 10 copies to give to inner city kids through a non-profit organization.... stimulates the reader's creative imagination. It's easy to become convinced that a successful REAL business is possible. Dozens and dozens of creative teenage entrepreneurs are interviewed, each with a different kind of business, each one successful, and many of whom have continued running their business as an adult!

A new world
My firm took on a civil asset forfeiture case and I received the daunting task of trying to get the case to court. I found Mr. Sibley's book most informative, as it made clear an area of law that is unfamiliar to most. The book includes sample pleadings that I found very helpful. The area of civil asset forfeiture is complex, and Mr. Sibley's book is a must-read for anyone who is considering tackling it.

BEST book/cd on Civil Forefeiture!
This is truly a BIBLE to handling civil forefeiture cases! It contains everything you need in battling with the government in forefeiture cases.

Excellent, easy to use, consice & complete practice guide
Mr. Sibley has taken the mystery, wonder and guess work out of the Federal Foreiture arena. This Practice Manual is structured to equip any attorney with the knowledge and skill necessary to challenge a property seizure by the Feds efficiently, effectively and with confidence. As a sole practicioner criminal defense attorney the Manual is perfectly suited as a practice guide for the occasional forfeiture matters I handle. The time savings alone are invaluable as compared to conducting research from scratch and the ease of use allows for quicker, more complete planning of case stategy and preparation. I find the CD format ideally suited for this type of manual as compared to a 600 page book. If you handle any Federal Forfeiture matters this manual will provide you with the amunition and armor needed to do battle with the government.

An outstanding and interesting book
Every once in a while, you find a book that changes your view of the world. FREE MONEY showed me why the common knowledge about the economy is completely wrong. It showed me how to predict the stock market, which I've done successfully for the past 5 years, using the simple method described.
It showed me why we had the recession and the recovery. It showed me why Chairman Greenspan's mistakes were largely responsible for the recession, and how close we were to a depression.
It showed me solutions to the Social Security and Medicare problems.
In short, this is one of the most important books I ever have read, and it made a lot of money for me, too.

FREE MONEY IS WORTH IT AT ANY PRICE
FREE MONEY is one of the best non-fiction books I have read. It's logical and easy reading, and it challenges every notion I've had about our economy. I now understand what has happened in the stock market, and more importantly, what will happen. A terrific book!

FREE MONEY and how to save Social Security
An excellent book. Shows how to lower taxes and at the same time, support Social Security (as well as Medicare, the military, crime prevention.) Has dozens of ideas you never see in the media. No gobble-de-gook. Very easy reading. It's counter-intuitive but logical. If you want a fresh view of what has happened in our economy and what will happen, this is the book for you.

The Gaga Years: The Rise and Fall of the Money Game, 1981-1991

Authors: Brett Duval Fromson and Brett Duval-Fromson
Amazon base price: $14.95
Used price: $2.85
Collectible price: $12.71

A classic
Some critics have complained that Brett Duval-Fromson's the Gaga Years falls short of his Running and Fighting: Working in Washington. That's a bit like comparing the Cherry Orchard to King Lear and concluding that it isn't a very good play.

And in any case, the critics may not have been paying close enough attention. It is only on the second or third reading that one sees how Duval-Fromson's wit suffuses this book. One of many examples: The chapter on MiniScribe, a disk-drive maker whose financial shenanigans are compared to fall of Acre in 1291, is written without recourse to the letter "E" -- a wry comment on how MiniScribe ulimately lacked earnings.

While many consider the Gaga Years a business book, in my library its shelved elsewhere -- between Dumas and Eckhart.

Excellent
Duval-Fromson's work has it all: The braces, the big cigars, the Lydians. Drawing parallels between Croesus, Ivan Boesky, the beginnings of Lyme disease in Westchester, and George Soros' sparring with the Hunt brothers, the Gaga Years weaves a tale that will keep you turning the pages through pot after pot of Earl Grey.

Duval-Fromson's finest book is matched only, perchance, by E.A. Roy's work on Hungarian bearer bonds. I pray that it will come back in print.

Fromz Is Tops in My Book
Few financial journalists ask the tough questions as determinedly as the polymath Brett Duval-Fromson. This book is a freewheeling, far-ranging essay on how money works, how to play it -- and what it means.

Without lapsing into intrusiveness or self-involvement, Fromson practically makes high finance into an Aesop's fable in this incredibly accessible narrative. From his insight on the society of the Lydians to a quirky story about the Egyptian Pharaoh Ptolemy II, Fromson keeps the reader turning the pages -- and you just might learn something while you're at it!
