The Weight and Wealth Factors
Great book, I had never realized the parallels between weight and wealth. The book made alot of sense and was easy to read. I loved the activities at the end of each chapter, they made it easy to get started. I realized I needed a push in the right direction and this book did it for me. I would highly recommend it to anyone who struggles with their weight or wealth.

It makes so much sense!
Angie writes with clarity and grace to help us see where the influences in our lives affect both our financial and physical well-being. Her twelve factors help to explain the complex origins of our behavior patterns. Most of them are common sense, but seeing them all in one place is very helpful. This isn't technically a reference book, but it is easy to "refer" to when I need a quick reminder of how to overcome external factors and internal impulses that might be leading me off track. Easy to read or browse and full of fun quotes and facts.

HELP YOURSELF!
This is a fabulous book that is very easy to read!! I love the idea of managing my weight and wealth within one book - two very important needs in my life. This book breaks down, step by step how to "help yourself". Make up your mind and DO IT!

With short, snappy exercises that help the reader focus on his/her specific view of money. The reader will discover self-attitudes only evident after the right questions (Linder's) are asked and answered. Then Linder guides the reader to an understanding of his/her personality type and how to make that work with the money at hand, with one's marriage, and with one's career. Online investing may get the lion's share of attention, but Jennifer Openshaw says the Internet really is the perfect vehicle for managing all personal finance information--especially for women, whose fiscal requirements often are ignored by traditional guides to money management. In What's Your Net Worth?, Openshaw, founder of the Women's Financial Network and a frequent financial TV commentator, describes a complete 12-step wealth-building program that combines sound advice concerning women's precise needs with Web sites that should be helpful in addressing them. It boils down to mixing time-honored (albeit gender-specific) techniques with today's technology to develop a three-part game plan Openshaw calls "Earn It, Save It, and Grow It!" Toward the second goal, for example, she describes various ways that expenses might be trimmed to increase savings, "not only by using online budgeting tools to get a handle on your spending but also by devising an online strategy to spend less on the things you still need to buy." Other individual actions focus on eliminating debt and building credit, protecting assets, minimizing taxes, increasing earnings, and giving back through charitable contributions. --Howard Rothman

Sound advice - for men as well as women
Openshaw writes this book for women, but the advice is right on the money and can be used by everyone. An excellent feature of the book is the list of internet links at the end of each chapter. These references easily allow the reader to find additional information of any specific topic. For example, her brief discussion of options opens the door to using those investment tools to produce additional income. This is a topic often overlooked in books of this type. To learn how to use options, I also recommend THE SHORT BOOK ON OPTIONS.

Oprah found a great expert!
I saw Jennifer Openshaw on Oprah just a few days ago and was so impressed that I picked this book the very next day. Great information about how women can take charge of their financial futures. On the TV show Jennifer seemed to really understand the kinds of obstacles that stand between women and their financial goals, and after reading the book I think she has given us all a clear path to achieving them! Once you finish reading What's Your Net Worth? pass it on to your sister, your daughter, your mom, or your best friend.

Finding Financial Freedom
This book was fabulous! I loved the personal accounts of all the different women and their financial stories. It really spoke to me in particular because I was divorced several years ago, and all of our joint assets were in my husband's name. It was incredibly difficult to start all over again, trying to build credit, and get loans. I was forced to become financially independent, but learned everything the hard way. If only I had known earlier what I know now! I would recommend this book to any woman who is looking to build wealth or secure her financial future. A great resource no matter what your age, marital status, or career!

Make work fun
Very easy read. Don't be like most people who go through their whole life hating their job and have it affect their whole life. This book has easy excercies to figure out what you should be doing. Has some unique ideas on getting in to where you want. Once you read it you'll say "why didn't I think of that?" So go for it!

A Great Book, Over and Over Again!
I bought this book a couple years ago when I wanted to figure out what I wanted to do next in life. A friend has told me it was a great book. Here we are two years later. Unfortunately, I lent the book to someone and haven't seen it since, so I bought another copy.

Tom Welch's knowledge if far beyond any "career" book I've ever read. He's honest and shoots straight from the hip. No silly hype. All I can say is that I think this book gets better each time I read it. Thank you, Thank You, Thank You, Tom.

Best of the Bunch!
This book is the most down to earth, easy to follow, and practical of its kind. It not only motivates you, but also gives you exact steps to follow to achieve success in finding a job or fine tuning your current job to make it more desirable.

Simple ways to save money
51 Easy Ways You Can Prevent Global Warming converts this public concern into positive action, providing simple, everyday things you can do to minimize global warming-and save yourself money at the same time! Global warming may seem like an overwhelming and insurmountable problem but there are easy things you can do around your home, in your backyard, and with your automobile that will help the planet and your pocketbook. While the book contains 51 topics, there are actually hundreds of tips and suggestions within the book that will help you address this global problem.
Whether you are one of the nearly three-quarters of people who consider themselves environmentalists, or you're interested in practical ways you can save money each year, the straightforward tips packed within 51 Easy Ways You Can Prevent Global Warming (and Save Money!) will make this one of the most important and useful books on your bookshelf.

One of the best books I have ever read!
The thing that I enjoyed most about this book was the fact that you didn't have to start with the first chapter and continue all the way through form start to finish, instead you could pick a topic that interested you and read about that. I also liked the fact taht they included a website with links about things such as how to install dimmers on your lights step by step as a do-it yourself weekend project. The book seemed like it would be a fantastic educational tool for all levels of education all the way form elementry school to high sicool and even beyond. In two words the book was tremendously empowering for all ages!

Great tips for ordinary people to prevent global warming
This book is well-organized, and provides practical information about how the average person can reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. There actually are a lot more than 51 tips since each tip gives a lot of other action steps you can take. It not only rates each action as to whether it's no-cost, low-cost, or an investment item, but also provides financial savings info and - most important - the amount of CO2 emissions prevented by taking the action. Considering the huge financial savings possible by implementing these tips, the book is a bargain. But considering what's at stake, the financial savings are irrelevant. As the book's dedication page states, we take these actions for "... the members of the next generation, who must live with the decisions we make today."

Unclaimed Assets: Money the Government Owes You!

Good book for those without internet access.
I found this book to be helpful in understanding how to find claims, but it was a bit of a hassel trying to get current links for online searches. I found a web site using GoTo's search engine that helped me to get started as a finder and has made it very easy to search for claims online. I would recommend the book for those without internet access and the web site for those with access.

Great resource
Really a terrific resource written by an acknowledged expert in the field.

This book provides a wealth of information of how to go about finding and claiming your share of the unclaimed billions of dollars held by government agencies and others. I used it successfully to locate funds owed a family member I never would have known about.

When used along with the author's Unclaimed Assets website, - it's really a great deal.

Unclaimed Assets: Money the Government Owes You
This book provides an indepth look into every state and their policy. It will tell you if you can look at the records via the courthouse or if they are currently not allowing anyone except the actual person claiming to money to search their records. Very well done with updated information.

A book everyone needs to read
Talk about a book that everyone should read, but no one will, this is it. A terrific, plain language explanation of the origins of money and how understanding money leads to political sophistication and concommitant societal benefits.

This book makes many cogent arguments that deal with war and external defense, interior political and civil stabilty, the societal need for a stable currency, the need for a rule of law to protect private property rights, and the implications of the velocity and movements of global currency trading. It does a great job of explaning financial derivitives, options, inflation, debasement of the currency via political corruption, and financial globalization of trade and currencies.

It contains a marvelous retelling of history thru the eyes of a currency sophisticate, one who incorporates a history of revolutions, and the subsequent rebuildings of the societies that gain prominence in their aftermath.

The backdrop for this fascinating tale is the rise of the micro-chip, the story of the digital revolution. This running-wild tale illustrates how technology has outstripped the ability of dictators to throttle it, and how society has commensurately reaped the benefits. It's a paradigm for the future and deserves to be more widely understood. It has shaken up the strangle hold of one political philosophy ruling the media, and in the future it will reform tort law and academia. It's all here for those willing to study it.

Read it!

History of how money came to rule us
Fantastic book, clearly written. A history of the systematic shift in power from governments to asset markets, especially in the Reagonomics era (which includes the 1990's). A 'must', along with "Inventing Money" and "Wall Street Capitalism", for those who want to understand the financial system and it's consequences.

Understanding Options and derivatives.
I finally understand what Options and derivatives are. This is a wonderful, fun book which guides the reader through the history of monetary exchanges. Did I say fun? You have to read his description of Berkeley in the late 60s. Although I lived through it, I never understood the inflation or high interest rates of the 70s and how it related to taking the dollar off the gold standard. Oh yes I can see clearly now!

Excellent Investment Companion
This book focuses on analyzing Real Estate Investment from a financial calculation perspective. It is very well written, very easy to understand, and extremely useful. In a very short time, you will quickly learn the 37 calculations that a sophisticated Real Estate Investor uses to evaluate whether a deal makes financial sense. By knowing the numbers better, you'll have an edge in negotiating your next real estate deal. Highly Recommend!

Outstanding detail with a straightforward explanation.
This book is the best read for understanding financial analysis. It is not often, if ever achieved, that a subject as complex as financial analysis can be explained so perfectly suited for real estate professionals. The work doesn't lose itself in silly analysis or "paralysis of analysis", Gallinelli's approach is straightforward, sometimes hard hitting as a practical sense guide to investing in real estate. This doesn't mean the work is simplistic by any measure, you can spend plenty of time taking this work into great depth. Gallinelli offers a web page support system with free worksheet downloads, financial software and valuable resource links. Every deal I consider is now held to a new financial standard. This is a must own book for investors, brokers and corporate real estate professionals.

The book is as good as the software---GREAT!!!!!
Initially when I began to read the book, I thought it was going to be a well written work that might be useful to me. Well, it is cetainly much more than that.

Physicians have their chief referance book called the Physicians Desk Referance,(PDR), and Attorneys have various desk references which are used in their specialties. Now real estate investors have a wondefully written "desk book" that is suitable for the novice through the most highly qualified professional.

All students of real investing should have this book. It will be perfect for beginners as well as "old-timers" who have been around. The presentation is extremely easy to read and is precise and accurate. The 37 calculations, explained in detail, are absolutely the calculations you have either already used or will need to perform -- at times on a moment's notice.

There are also discussions and examples of much of the material found in the real estate analysis software published by realdata.com. If you are in a rush and don't like to waste time thumbing through volumes of vague examples and poorly written explanations you will absolutely appreciate this book.

I wholeheartedly echo the comments written by David A. Taylor whose thorough analysis is "Right On."

Keep the book handy on your desk

Bet on the long shot.
Most likely you've never heard of this author or his stories--he's been published in a lot of smaller, literary journals. (A fact proving that a lot of good authors slip through the cracks at the bigger, more important magazines.) And if you're not a gambler or someone who frequents horse tracks or OTB parlors, you probably don't know firsthand about the pain and dazzling success that come from winning and losing--experiences that happen sometimes all at once. But Plattner and his characters have seen all of this. And whether you're a horse person or not, the dignity and grace that his characters achieve in a lifestyle that's dying around them is compelling. And hopefully, Andy Plattner will be a name you here about later.

A promising and original debut
I was hesitant to award five stars to this book---since it seems a common practice to heap inordinate praise on books that are usually undeserving---but I give Winter Money five stars because of its originality and freshness of voice. Ostensibly, the theme is horse-racing and the track, but really this is a loosely-linked collection of coming-of-age stories. Plattner's prose is lean and unpretentious, sometimes almost bare-boned, but he turns phrases of simple elegance, putting me in mind of Richard Ford's style in Rock Springs. And the characters and voice also somewhat resemble Richard Ford's collection; if I were Plattner's writing professor, I would ask him, "You've read and learned from this book, haven't you?" Not that this diminishes in any way the power of the collection. The characters, situations, and dialogue linger long in the mind after reading, and it's a book you'll find yourself drawn to again.

It's good.
The characters feel like real people, and Plattner seems to care about them. He obviously cares a lot about horses too. The mood reminds me some of the film version of "Last Picture Show."

These stories are worth reading--no flash, just straightforward, intelligent writing with heart.

Women, Men, and Money : The Four Keys for Using Money to Nourish Your Relationship, Bankbook, and Soul

Author: Jr. William Fran Devine

Easy read, excellent book with fresh perspective!
This book provides a different approach to thinking about money. The author suggests that you can take control of your life's goals and then the money will follow. I found this book to be more about getting true to oneself and your spouse than a "get rich" plan. I agree with the author's theory that links happiness and pursuit of one's goals with financial rewards.

I appreciated the "getting started exercises" at the end of each chapter. They have encouraged some incredible discussion in our family as we face choices regarding relocation, and home purchases. I also do seem to have more money around and have found myself re-thinking purchases and my buying "process." Having fresh flowers in my kitchen has been very uplifting in February and is noticed by everyone who comes to visit.

I strongly recommend this book for anyone looking to improve on the quality of their life and leave behind "worrying big about the little."

Fulfill your promise
After feeling bogged down with the minutia of finances (managing budgets to the penny, searching for countless tax deductions, considering buying a house solely for financial reasons, and obsessing over my 401k), Women, Men, & Money provided me with an integrated approach to a relationship with money that supports manifestation of my and my spouse's full, unique promise as human beings. It helps me keep money decisions in perspective by staying connected to money's true value and purpose -- to help me and my spouse bring our authentic selves fully into the world. Part of that self actualization is our service, our unique potential for contributing to others, and that's the crux of satisfying and rewarding work (psychologically/spiritually *and* financially). Women, Men, & Money also has lots of great information about how to interact with your spouse about money in a way that affirms and grows your relationship. As a twenty-something married just one year, I found this book extremely helpful in creating a healthy relationship with money in my marriage. Highly recommended.

Great Read for Generation X-ers!
I totally enjoyed this easy to read format.

William has introduced a great book about Talent, Being Deliberate and strategies to deal with career, money and relationship problems.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself reading this elegant book. I really like his poignant story about his real estate woes and comeback.

The title of the book should be How to create a better relationship with your family, spouse and career with new prosperity/talent consciousness.

I enjoyed the section about finding one's Talent.

I emailed the author because I was so excited about how to create a better solution in my life.

I'm always looking for better ways to live and

Mr. Devine creates a paradigm for wealth consciousness.

He helps define a better relationship to the almighty buck! We can all use his advice.

A talented author, narrator and financial guru is behind this work of art in nonfiction.

I recommend this highly to all my peers in the Generation X and all those followers of Tony Robbins.

I hope I get a chance to meet the author in the reading book circuit!

This is a must read, I've been recommending to all my friends.
