THE best book on options...
Although this book was written in 1984 it is still, in my opinion, one of the best and clearest descriptions of options trading ever published. All later books have taken passages from this book. It also contains many formula for calculating Fair Price, days to reach a certain price, probability of reaching a price, and many more. I just cannot understand why it has not been republished given the interest in trading options. Stan Graham

I Guarantee You Will Buy Low Sell High and Make Money
This is the best and most informative and usable book on the stock market that I have ever read and is suitable for investors at all levels, even beginners. I wouldn't take $100 for my copy if it couldn't be replaced. The book is not based on theory but a proven portfolio management formula developed and tested sense the 1970's. I am using the method described in the book with success. The book is not a "get rich quick" scheme but a how you can make a steady 20-30% return on your investment safely. The author is very helpful and well informed on the market. The first author I have ever written to that the author will respond promptly and with a willingness to help. The author Jeff Weber also publishes a very informative and useful newsletter for only $15 a year in HTML format. Get this.... the newsletter tells you the stocks that have been thoroughly researched and recommended for this method of investing thus practically all the work is done for you. The author also has an informative web site at: http://jjjinvesting.com I give this book a 5 Star Plus. Buy it -is my recommendation. Feel free to contact me at jimboo@pldi.net if you desire more information on this book.

The Individual Investor Revolution: Seize Your New Powers of Investing & Make More Money in the Market
Published in Hardcover by McGraw-Hill Trade (26 August, 1998)
Authors: Charles B. Carlson and Chuck Carlson
Amazon base price: $21.95
Used price: $0.95
Collectible price: $3.95

Charles B. Carlson strongly believes that anyone can become a blue-chip stock investor: you can do it with $50 a month, little or no money up front, no fees, and--best of all--no broker. In his book, The Individual Investor Revolution, Carlson writes that this is the best way to participate in today's stock market.

For those who need an introduction, Carlson is a noted pied piper of "dividend reinvestment plans" or DRIPs--programs that invite you to buy stock directly from companies, without a broker. About 1,100 companies offer stock via optional monthly cash payments and reinvesting of dividends. Better yet, 400 of these--including Disney, Exxon, IBM, and Compaq--will sell you the first share without a broker. The increasing popularity of investing "drip by drip" is one sign of the extraordinary clout that small investors are wielding on Wall Street these days, Carlson says. The Internet also is changing the face of investing by providing online trading and easy access to high-level information and research, he writes. With DRIPs, 401(k) retirement plans, no-load mutual funds, and Roth IRAs, people are getting all the tools they need to build wealth over time. "You have the ability to change your financial future, as well as the financial futures of your children and your grandchildren," writes Carlson, who publishes investment newsletters and comanages a mutual fund.

Carlson's fans will enjoy this book's "ultimate individual-investor portfolios," featuring his best picks for mutual funds, individual stocks, and mini-profiles of 60 top companies. The book also includes a valuable directory with performance histories of nearly 200 companies offering direct purchase of stock. The Individual Investor Revolution is excellent for readers who want an all-inclusive guide to DRIPs. It's also a great primer for people starting out in the stock market. --Dan Ring

A Practical, Useful Guide For The Small Investor
Lots of practical, useful and down-to-earth information in Charles Carlson's "The Individual Investor Revolution". Carlson lists dozens of Internet sites, pointing and clicking the reader to valuable stock research previously available only to the professional investor. Carlson keeps things simple and easy to understand. He talks about the importance of owning stocks, investing regularly, simple investment plans, having patience with your investments. He provides a 100+ page list of U. S. stocks offering Direct Stock Purchase plans and a 28 page list of foreign stocks available for direct purchase through U. S. stock exchanges. He provides a lot of "how to" information for the small investor. This book has a lot of value and is worth reading.

Tools of the Bull: How to Make Big Money in Bull Markets
Published in Hardcover by Probus Professional Pub (July, 1994)
Author: Charles J. Caes

Used price: $9.94

Great Tool 4 Novice/Intermediate Stock & Options Investors
Superb investing book suited for beginners and intermediately experienced market investors. Complete chapters devoted to leverage and hedging. Well-written, Caes makes his points clearly, this is better than some books devoted only to options. Use this book and study options for free at cboe.com. Stock selection and gaining an overall market viewpoint also thoroughly covered. I have used strategies covered in Caes' "Tools of the Bear" book to turn $5,000 into $11,000 in two months by buying naked puts. Small typeface makes it mandatory to read his books under very good light. Do not hesitate to buy because they were written a while back, they are still very relevant. Better than many highly hyped market books of recent years. Buy it!

Required Reader for Every Investor (Who Wants to Succeeded)
After he spent years managing mutual fund that is bigger the GDP of most countries, Peter Lynch has learned a few things about how to invest wisely.

While a lot of investment books will tips that claim will triple your money (but only make you broke instead) Lynch preaches from the pulpit of common sense when it comes to making investments.

One up on Wall Street should be required reading for every investor who wants to succeed if you have never invested a nickel or hold stock in 1,000 companies, Lynch's life time of investing experience can help you make better investment decisions.

This book helps you categorize and what phrase different stocks (and the companies behind them) are in and then what strategy you can use when investing in these different stock categories.

It will help you sort through the maze of financial numbers and makes it easy for anybody to perform simple stock research that professional perform everyday and are often overpaid for.

Lynch's lessons are timeless and his common sense approach can work in any market, up or down. If you have never invested before and looking for some help or you have spent years investing, buy two copies of these books in case you lose the first one.

A Capital Read!
I borrowed my copy of "One Up On Wall Street" from a friend who is a longtime professional equities investor. He received this gift as recommended reading from a veteran investment analyst he knows. While Peter Lynch has written an easily comprehendible advice book on common stock investing - very much written in layman's terms and without emphasis on industry jargon - the principles he puts forth are fundamental and worth reviewing by anyone, amateur or pro.

Within the 300 pages of this book, Lynch outlines a useful rubric against which all stock selections might be measured. His stocks fall into six categories: Slow Growers, Stalwarts, Cyclicals, Fast Growers, Turnarounds and Asset Plays. Screening, buying and selling advice are outlined for each of these six flavors, although nothing revolutionary (eg., Sell a slow grower when the dividend is unattractive.) He delivers a wealth of the basic analytical tools (well, more like rules of thumb) for stock research, explaining price earnings ratios, the import of tax loss carry-forwards, goodwill accounting, inventories, and other basics of P&L statements and Balance Sheets. It's a pocket guide financial course for those who may have slept through Accounting 101.

Lynch urges stock pickers to do their homework, and suggests the regimen of a "Two Minute" drill, whereby an investor can recite a brief monologue of reasons for selecting a security: Reasons for selection, what the company needs to do to succeed, and pitfalls that stand in the way. Obviously, this is not a book for the technicians or chartists. Nor even speculators, as Lynch reminds the reader that his "ten-baggers" or "forty-baggers" all come as a result of having held at least three to four years.

Quite a bit of the book carries a populist bent. There is plenty of advice to pay more heed to what's happening in the local shopping mall than to investment brokers ("oxymorons"), and to avoid stocks with exotic names or that may have been whispered to be hot. Of course, we've all been aware of this, and we're all wealthy and drinking daiquiris on the beach now, right?

In sum, it is worth the investment of the few hours it takes to swallow this information. At worst, it is an entertaining look at some high-fliers the former Magellan manager scored with, but at the very least it serves as reminder that basics need to be followed, and nothing works as well as solid research, good discipline and old fashioned hard work.

A Good Book to have.
A Good book of investment for beginner as well as veteran.
I like the most about how he classified companies into six categories and talk about what you should reasonably do to make a profit out of them.

Also, the witty writing will give you a laught even if you are not interested in investment.

The fixed income benchmark
This is the benchmark book on bonds and fixed income, it is very comprehensive and very reader-friendly. What I like about it is it covers everything. If I did not have this one book I would need 5 or 6 others instead. It covers bonds, pricing, duration, risk management, swaps, futurers, options, yield curve modelling, fund management, charting, and a whole lot more.As one endorsment says on the back: an encylopedia on bonds written like a thriller! Very good buy.

The only book you need on bonds and derivatives
Anyone with an interest in debt capital markets will still be referring to this book many years after purchasing it.

In-depth and original - great reference
This is an enclopaedic reference work on bonds and money markets, but written like a thriller. Oustanding work, great value and highly recommended to banker or student.

I agree with the reviewer from San Mateo regarding Sept. 17
Isn't it really all so obvious that September 17th never even bothered to read this book?I've reread this book 4 times and never, repeat never saw anything where Wade Cook says that somebody made a million dollars in one day. Also, this is not just Wall Street Money Machine Vol. 1 on a "new cover", yes some parts are similiar, but there is also more informaion on rolling stocks, covered calls, stock splits which are NOT covered in Wall Street Money Machine Vol 1 PLUS new strategies not covered like naked puts and tandem plays and more.September 17th, try reading the book first before writing a review, better yet, try using the strategies and see for yourself how well they work. You'll be glad you did!

You'll want to add this one to your library
Wall Street Money Machine-Stock Market Miracles is an excellent companion to Wall Street Money Machine for the new millenium. It goes beyond WSMMFTNM and covers more information like selling puts and tandem plays. As for the advertisements, I think the bashers mean testimonials and whats wrong with listing success stories? I enjoyed this book and made money with the strategies. Recently, I bought puts on Cpq for 1/16 and sold them for 7/16 five days later using the peak strategy that Wade talks about. I knew Cpqs run wasn't sustainable based on valuations of their stock. There is a wealth of information in these books. Use them and benefit from them.

328% 1 day return! Thanks Wade!
Following the advice by Wade Cook in WSMM Vol. 2, I bought December 55 calls on THO on a stock split announcement. I bought @ (---) and sold @ (---) for a fantastic 328% 1 day return. If it wasn't for this excellent book by Wade, I never would have known how to do this. Thanks Wade! Looking forward to Wall Street Money Machine Vol. 7!!
