Simulation and Modeling of Turbulent Flows
It is an excellent book covering the main aspects of simulation of turbulent flows, starting from spectral energy transfer to development and applications of turbulence models. The chapters are written by famous names in the area, such as J. L. Lumley, C. G. Speziale and B. E. Launder.

J. L. Lumley writes chapter 1. This chapter presents a comprehensive overview of the main physical and modelling aspects involved in turbulence, from energy cascade to orthogonal decomposition and wavelet representations.

A. Leonard writes chapter 2. It discusses Direct Numerical Simulation, analysing the fundamental aspects of DNS and exploring the main features of incompressible and compressible turbulence.

J. H Ferziger writes chapter 3. This chapter describes the methods employed in Large Eddy Simulation. It starts with a brief overview of Reynolds averaged methods and DNS and presents the basic aspects of LES and its differences in relation to other approaches. It includes sections about filtering, subgrid models (including Smagorinski, dynamic procedure and spectral models), numerical methods and coherent structures capturing.

S. A. Orszag writes chapter 4. This chapter explains the concept of the renormalization group theory, discussing the basis of RNG method and illustrating its application to a variety of turbulent flow problems.

C. G. Speziale discusses Reynolds Averaged turbulence models in chapter 5. This chapter presents an overview on zero, one and two-equation models, presenting the full set of equations governing the flow. In addition, it presents the formulation for full second order closure and discusses its implications upon the prediction of turbulent fluid flows. The final two sections present the Reynolds Averaged equations for compressible flow and some illustrative examples.

B. E. Launder writes chapter 5. It examines the exact second-moment equations and the processes causing anisotropy. This chapter also presents the most popular current approaches for the second order closure problem and some basic guidelines.

Ignore Your Instincts -- Buy this book
I "never woulda thunk it" when I first saw this book (looks like something off of a bargain table), but this book has been massively useful for learning and understanding everything I've needed to know about effective database management from a "get things done now" perspective.

Particularly, it has the clearest explanation of SQL queries (joins, unions, and all those other gizmos) I've ever run across.

And it's been even more useful than that as a quick reference tool, way better than the highfalutin stuff I usually hear touted by "experts."

This book is good guidance.
I recently started study about Pattern Recognition. This book is so well organized.

- Introduction to statistical pattern recognition

- Basic approaches to supervised classification via Bayes' rule and estimation of the class-conditional densities.

- Discriminant function approach to supervised classification.

- Techniques of exploratory data analysis.

- Additional topics on pattern recognition including performance assessment.

Especially, this book contains URL which concerned with topics. It is very useful!!

Classic photographs of elegant 1950's fashions
In the 1950's, fashion designers and photographers produced commercial images that are now appreciated as fine art. Comparatively few books have concentrate on this work. This book, a collection of photos from the personal album of a leading Paris model of the period, is one of the best. Most of the photos show the model (Stella) in Jacques Fath, some are in Adele Simpson and others. Various types of images are included: studio, runway, etc. Many exemplify a particularly 1950's style - the model is photographed outdoors, on the sidewalks of Paris, lounging against a parked car, in a park, etc. Always gracefully posed in extremely elegant clothes. The photos are almost exclusively from 1953-55 and in black and white. Text is minimal. The book is produced to a high standard; photo reproductions are very high quality, paper is heavy matte stock, the binding is sewn. Most photos have captions identifying the designer, photographer, and date. Highly recommended to those interested in classic black and white photography and 1950's style.

Structural Equation Modeling With Lisrel, Prelis, and Simpli
Offer different softwares(LISREL8, PRELIS2,SIMPLIS) and cover single, multiple groups analyses and provide MTMM model, I thought Dr. Byrne's book one of the most useful resource to apply structural equation model for social science research.

A good introduction to a difficult subject
I found this book to be useful and informative. The review of current research and developments in three-dimensional surface inspection and how two- and three-dimensional surface features may be isolated is particularly useful. The book offers a practical guide to the subject. I strongly recommend.

Good for getting insight about surface modeling
Backgrounds about differencetial geometry are explained shortly but enough. If intermediates read and implement algorithms related to curve and surface generation in the book, they can know easily the main properties of the used curve and surface geoemetries.
