What MBA Students Say About the Book
This book provides an excellent framework for discussion on economic policy. It presents a stark realization of overall economic impact to people who are traditional profiteers. For those who only see "the two silver dollars", this book provides a starting point for a bigger picture view.

What MBA Students Say About the Book
I found the book interesting and especially found the study of entrepreneurism as an ideology unique and interesting. During review, I found opinions and topics that could introduce more discussion into the study of entrepreneurship. Two areas that I saw particularly intriguing are: 1) defining approaches to business as traditional or entrepreneurial, and 2) the introduction of law into defining entrepreneurship. These two topics bring further questions and consequently greater discussion. -- Chris Barker

authors comments!
Few dolls speak of childhood like the Ginny doll. As a young toddler in the 1950s, Ginny the character, was a spokesperson for her generation. In the days when children played in the present with dolls that represented themselves, Ginny doll was always a favorite. Her wardrobe, accessories and study construction has made her a living legend that still continues today. The Ginny doll is a part of the American heritage of dolls. I hope you enjoy this book as it is a chapter of Americana that we never want to forget. A. Glenn Mandeville

I've seen Dr. Donald-Mims build a new church on tithes only.
She has proven that selling is not how God wants the kingdom to survive. When our faith increases enough to trust God with the great treasures that we hold, we flourish along with the kingdom of God. Excellent book. I am already wealthier, wiser, and more faithful.

Don't continue to block your blessing-Read and Receive!!
For those of us who continue to struggle with balancing the desire to tithe with the desire to have creature comforts, this book gives you the affirmation to exhale with a deeper understanding. It challenges us to make our individual contribution, thus putting God to the test. Read and unleash your blessing!

this author, mr. erhorn, "might" just be the father of a friend of this valued amazon.com customer... and if you're around 20-22 years old and want some food for thought, or maybe if it's required for class, keep that in mind.

Edmund's Values are Right on the Money!
As a somewhat novice coin collector (2 years), I've found theEdmund's Coin Price Guide a very easy to use reference.Even moreimportant, the prices quoted in the current Edmund's Coin Prices Guide are right on the mark as to what my coins are worth now. Coin values fluctuate constantly, ... invested semi-annually in the current issue of Edmund's more than pays for itself by keeping my knowledge of buying, selling and trading values current.

three in one set makes a delightful holiday gift
"This Present Darkness". In Ashton, a doubting Thomas reporter and a troubled pastor conclude that their town is in the forefront of a holy war on earth. The side the tempted locals choose will have the edge. Fans of the forces of heaven vs. those of hell on battlefield earth with to the victors go the souls will appreciate this deep action-packed thriller.

"Piercing the Darkness". In Bacon's Corner, a factory worker with a dark history hides from her past until otherworldly events force her to look back to what haunts her. Demon driven law suits have risen as accusations and counter charges resound throughout the town with child abuse as its focus. However, the real war is at the local Christian school between angels and demons over the souls of the residents. This "Darkness" sequel is another powerful angel-demon war on battlefield earth.

"Prophet". Although his father constantly embarrassed the news anchor with his politically incorrect but piously principled beliefs; still he did not want his dad to die. To gain closure, the reporter needs the truth about the alleged accident, but that means breaking the first commandment of broadcasting that deception in support of a certain secular vision is required. Though radically different and not quite the action-packed thriller level of the two Darkness tales, this is a solid story centering on religious redemption at the cost of losing material possessions and reputation.

These three reprints placed in one package focus on a war for the soul of people. Though biased against a left wing perspectives, the novels lead readers to reconsider their relationships with God, family, and community. This three in one set makes a delightful holiday gift.

Hidden Value - How intellectual property know-how can make or break your business
Published in Mass Market Paperback by Derwent Information (05 March, 1999)
Authors: Meg Carter, Paul Gosling, and Richard Poynder
Amazon base price: $45.00
Average review score:

An invaluable, well researched but accessible guide to IP
'Hidden Value' is an excellent guide to IP, written for and from the perspective of business people who need to know the answers to a comprehensive range of questions, from 'What should my company be doing about its IP?' to 'What are the major differences between Patent Law in different jurisdictions across the globe?' It manages to provide an unusual balance between user-friendliness (it is engagingly written, amusingly illustrated, and takes examples from intriguing and colourful business histories) with a tremendously high degree of accuracy on technical matters of the law. Most comparable books fall between these two stools. I particularly enjoyed the practical case studies at the end of the book -- especially the story of how Dow Chemical saved large sums of money by active, preemptive management of its patent portfolio. The style of the volume is unusually elegant and precise, making it a pleasure to read as well as extremely useful, and the editor, Richard Poynder, has done an excellent job in integrating the chapters by different experts in the field including himself. If your company has any form of IP at all (and who doesn't these days?), then you neglect the publication of this fascinating and factually reliable guide at your peril.

Javier's Dream

Author: Linda Sibley
Amazon base price: $5.95

JAVIER'S DREAM
This is a great book! I use it in my Reading class with my immigrant students. Word gets out that we read this book in my class. The first thing the students what to know when they get in my class is when we are going to read Javier's Dream. They can really relate to the book. The author has come to speak to my classes and the students love to hear her stories. I recommend this book to anyone interested in what it feels like to be a young boy who longs to come to the United States - and then has his dream come true. You might be surprised how Javier reacts when you read the sequel, My Brother, Javier.

Resource Allocation in the Public Sector: Values, Priorities and Markets in the Management of Public Services
Published in Paperback by Routledge (September, 1998)
Author: C. M. Fisher
Amazon base price: $39.95
Average review score:

An Excellent Guide
Until I read Mr Fisher's seminal work, I had no or little interest in resource allocation in the public sector. After reading it, however, I consider myself a complete convert!! Mr Fisher makes what would appear to be a somewhat dull subject abolutely enthralling - in the same way that Hamlet is not just a play about a fictional Prince, this book is not just a book about resource allocation in the public sector, and I would advise anyone with even the slightest interest in values, priorities and markets in the management of public services to pick up a copy now. A perfect stocking filler!

Singapore's Authoritarian Capitalism, Asian Values, Free Market Illusions and Political Dependency
Published in Mass Market Paperback by The Locke Institute (1996)
Author: Christopher Lingle
Amazon base price: $24.00
Average review score:

I wish I could have read this when I lived in Singapore
This was the book I needed while living Singapore in the late nineteen nineties. I so much wanted to know more about the frankly rather sinister government I was temporarily living under(ultra-efficient rubbish collection, local people too afraid to even discuss politics). But there was nothing available on the shelves except hagiographical titles about Singapore's ruler, Lee Kuan Yew, or Harry Lee. (I remember one entitled What If There Had Been No Lee Kuan Yew?) Lingle was a professor at Singapore U and was tried and found guilty in absentia by S'pore's kangaroo courts for published comments in the Herald Tribune.

This book is essential for an understanding of Singapore. It is the "twin" recommended to be read along side (or instead of) Harry Lee Kuan Yew's autiobigraphical junk. Another good book for understanding S'pore is Francis T. Seow's A Dissident in Lee Kuan Yew's Prison (To Catch a Tartar).

Anyone planning to visit or live in S'pore should read this (even from the armchair).
