An "ok" book
Since I like Civil War history, New Moon Rising was an "ok" book. But you would have to like Civil War history to even pick this book up. Because if your looking for a good romance novel this is not the book to read, because there's not much in the romance department in, New Moon Rising. But like I said, it was a fairly good book if you enjoy Civil War history.

Her Island
Another great book for Ms. Price. Read the book in two days. Her story telling has a way of pulling the reader into the story. After reading the St. Simon Trilogy my future visits to her island will have a new meaning for me. I have gone to St Simon's for the last five summers and I always felt so at peace once I got there, I feel that is how she must have felt. It is the most calming and restful place I have ever visited. And after reading her books I can see how she felt. I can hardly want until next summer.

New Moon Rising
It was very intriguing, I felt that it gave a lot of information about the time of the Civil War. I liked the series, how it is about the family and continues their lives.

Disappointed in Michigan
I was extremely disappointed with this book. Most of the items are photographed in back and white and in large groups, which makes it nearly impossible to identify items using these photos as references. I wouldn't recommend it for identification purposes.

The best price guide series available.
Dorothy Hammond's series is of more use to serious antique collectors than other price guides because the items illustrated are identified as having been sold for the price given by auction or by dealer, the date of the sale, and the location of the sale. The information is timely and accurate. Items that I sold at auction in 2001 are illustrated here accurately. In other price guides, I've seen items that I can specifically identify as having been sold seven or eight years earlier listed with the old prices. In a rapidly changing market, that kind of misinformation can be costly.

Dorothy Hammond books
My husband & I have been collecting antiques for over 30 years. This book is wonderful because EVERY ITEM DESCRIBED IS PICTURED.
There is no guessing if this is your antique by the written desription, there is a picture to be certain.

Price's best
For fans of Eugenia Price, this is her best. In my opinion Margaret's Story comes from an era years ago when Ms Price was at her best writing. Although the Civil War is becoming an increasingly common subject for fiction, M.S. is set in North Florida, a state that many forget was part of the Confederacy. Ms. Price chronicles generations of this state's history, from Indian wars into Reconstruction, through the eyes of the factual woman Margaret Fleming. Here Ms Price is at her best with characterizations-they're more full-blooded here than in any other of her novels. The story is often tragic but never boring. The character is one with whom the reader cannot help but follow.

A wonderful accounting of history.
This is beautiful true story of a woman who lived and loved in in Northern Florida during the 1800s. Margaret Seton had always loved Louis Fleming from the time she was a young girl and admired him from a distance as she was many years his junior. Years later when Louis' wife died leaving him to raise his children alone; Margaret was determined to capture the heart of the love of her life. The book brings the life of this incredible woman to life. Myself, living on the shores of Doctor's Lake on Fleming Island, I was drawn into their lives, and I felt as if I were there watching the Flemings as Margaret's joy and heartbreak came alive on the pages. I cried right along with Margaret, Louis and the children. At times, I found myself wondering if the Fleming family had ever picniced on my property or perhaps Louis and his son's had sailed by or fished out back. I couldn't put this book down. After finishing the book I was compelled to visit Hibernia. I saw the Chapel that Louis had built for Margaret and visited the family grave plot. It was as though I knew them. A definite must read for anyone that has an appreciation of the Old South or loves history. Accurate in details.

Excellent book
World War II historical fiction brought to life with powerful images, well developed characters, and thought-provoking situations. Real people facing extreme circumstances with the full varity of human triumphs and failures. Well worth the read.

EXCELLENT BOOK, BUT THE EDITING IS HORRIBLE
THIS BOOK TIED HISTORY AND FICTION TOGETHER VERY WELL. THERE WERE SECTIONS WHICH WOULD SEEM IMPROBABLE, BUT GIVEN THE FICTIONAL NATURE OF THE BOOK, WORKED WELL. HOWEVER, THE EDITING WAS VERY POOR. MISSPELLED WORDS, LACK OF OR NO PUNCTUATION, AND POORLY CONSTRUCTED SENTENCES MADE IT DIFFICULT TO READ. ONE HAS TO BACK UP AND REREAD MANY SECTIONS TO DISCERN THE MEANING OF THE AUTHORS

many tense adventures of catching various arctic animals
Hal (20 years old) and Roger Hunt (15 years old), sons of a world-famous zoologist, are sent to Greenland on a daring expedition. Their father want's them to collect as many arctic animals as they can get and transport them right in New York. He intend's to sell them to the zoo which can take the best care of them. With a boy they met, named Olrik and a polar bear Nanook they tamed, they set off for the ice cap in pursuit of the rarest creatures of the Arctic. But the ice cap holds many dangers so the expedition becomes very complicated. The Hunts are always in life danger not just because of dangerous animals but also because crime here goes undetected. A despicable hunter named Zeb is out to harm them. They are suppose to bring a walrus, the polar bear, big bearded seal, sea lion, musk ox, narwhal, wild reindeer, caribou, humpback whale, sea otter and the Greenland shark. Although knowledge is not everything, luck is very important. They caught all of them but everyone was caught in a very strange way; for instance, they caught the bear by sitting on him or a narwhal when he got stuck in their kayak and was haled to the shore. Every animal needed a different procedure none of them deffinetly wasn't easy. Whet they caught everything they could in Greenland they set of to Alaska. It was a sad farewell especially from Olrik and one-foot man and his family. They could not do it without drops of tears in their eyes. A few animals more were caught in Alaska of course witha great help of a sleeping gun and of course Nanook. There is no doubt they survived some the most exciting and thrilling months in their life. They flew back to NY. Their father was full of enthusiasm to see such beutiful rare animals and of course even more to see thir sons which have done such a great job. The last thing he said was that the money will go into a trust for them so they could get the education they need to be a wildlife scientists. The time will come when they will know the animals inside out.

An Unexpectedly Valuable Book
This is one of the best books I have read integrating price with volume and OI and trade mix .
It drives home most eloquently the necessity to consider all of the above in analysis and highlights the value of COT reports .
To sum up , one cannot be the same again after having read this book .

You don't see the real stock market here!
When I started reading the book I really liked it because there are many chart patterns and not many boring texts. Especially like the chapter that gives you various charts asking you whether you should buy or sell or hold, you can then check answers at the end of the book. As I read it through, though, I became very disappointed that there is NOT A SINGLE REAL LIFE STOCK CHART! All the charts are made up by the author on graphing paper with extremely typical patterns for the purpose of teaching. How can the reader learn to recognize the patterns in the real stock market, where the price changes are seldom so regular or typical??!! If someone has never seen a real life stock chart he will be lost in the real world of stock investing. Even one real chart will tell a lot more to the reader than an fabricated chart. Is that because the author didn't want to take the time and work to find the real charts to illustrate the patterns? It's easy to draw the graphs and make them look like a head and shoulder, triangle, etc.

A Practical Book Written By An Investor
This is a practical book about Technical Analysis written by an investor with over 30 years of experience who has "been there and done it". The book has a section with exercises. If I had a complaint, it would be that the patterns shown in the example charts are too clear; things are not that crystal clear in real life. Anyone who reads this book should also read "Trading The Plan" by Robert Deel. Both are very practical.

Simple, Concise, Powerful Read
If you have never read a technical analysis book then I highly recommend this above everything else. For startes it's barely over 200 pages short, with more than half those pages dedicated to charts. Simply put you only read about 100 pages.

The beauty is those 100 pages are powerful and geared perfectly for the beginner. After reading this book I was bitting at the bit to apply my new knowledge, and no longer regard picking stocks as a crap-shoot.

You CAN educate yourself to financial freedom, and this book will help you do that.
