Dr. Cohen has written a book that can help individuals avoid most probems with medications- while at the same time being sure to get the most benifit from the lowest dose of drug.

I have often had problems with medication in the past- and this book gave me a simple and clear technique for avoiding those problems.

Problems with drugs are responsible for more deaths each year than autos and guns combined- and most of those deaths can be avoided by using the simple plan given in "How To Make Your Medicin Safe"- I give it my highest rating!!!

Dr. Cohen's book is an excellent resource for doctors, patients and family members. The information is current and the writing is easy-to understand. At selfhypnosis.com we always recommend that people learn relaxation, meditation or selfhypnosis for the selfcare portion of their treatment. Of course, medicines are an important part of most conditions. I have been working in healthcare for over 20 years and Dr. Cohen's book is my #1 choice for people to be intelligent about what they are getting from the pharmacy for themselves or their family members. If you take medication, you need expert advice. We all need and will benefit from a 2nd opinion. My recommendation is Dr. Cohen and his book, Make Your Medicines Safe.

I thought this book made a lot of sense. I finally understand why I have had so many problems with medication. I highly recommend this book for all physicians and the general public. This book is literally a lifesaver. Those people who have experienced side effects from medication will find this book invaluable.

This book makes a logical and reasonable case for the truth of Christ, the Bible, and the historic orthodox Christian faith. I have ready many books on apologetics and the Christian worldview, and this book is the most succinct and yet does not presuppose any extensive knowledge of Christianity. It is perfect for someone who knows little or nothing of Christianity but who wants to assess the claims of Jesus Christ and the historical reality of the biblical faith.

After reading this book, you have a good perspective on absolute truth in the God of the Bible. Not only does this book offer numerous arguements on why the God of the Bible is the truth, it offers logical arguements on why the God of the bible is the truth! I highly recommend this book to anyone who is agnostic or still searching for hard facts in a world full of confusing theologies. This book is also recommended for those who confess their Christian faith but often have troubles in apologetics and explaining why they believe in the God of the Bible. This is a must for every thinking persons bookshelf beucase it goes straight to the heart of hard to answer questions. I enjoyed the book mainly because it answered most of my questions with lavished accuracy and spared room for personal judgement on why or why not to accept the given arguements.

The author takes the reader through the simple reasoning (facts) why Christianity makes sense. He then proceeds to introduce how a person accepts Christianity as real. The last section deals with how a person can turn facts into faith into using this faith in everyday life. It is written so simply that no one should reject the book even if they don't agree with the facts presented. It is short and easy to read. Great for evangelism.

I am quite thankful for this book and its many valuable tips. I recently had liposuction and feel that had I not reviewed some of the information for recovery, I might have been in greater discomfort. You don't really understand what it will be like until you become a patient, but I can tell that the author is a patient as she is extremely thorough with her realistic and helpful explanations. I highly recommend this book.

With all of the hype about cosmetic surgery I have found it very difficult to get impartial and informative assistance on selecting a physician who best meets my needs. I had also never considered the importance of selecting an accredited surgical facility-but as I researched the horror stories and read the book, I realized this decision can be as important as selecting the right physician. The detailed information on what to expect before and after surgery was very helpful. A must read if you are considering cosmetic surgery!

This book is by far the best of about 3 Norman Vincent Peale books I have read. While it does tend to repeat stories from his other books(after reading a couple I think they all do), it also has the ability to make you motivated into doing something right now. Peale has the ability to make you want to do something with your life right now and not wait until tommorrow comes. I've notice his advice of just "putting a smile on your face everyday" really works and I think it will for you as well!

This is one of the best books I have ever read on the topic of turning adversity into advantage. I have several of Norman Vincent Peale's books and loved them all - but this one beats the rest in that it seems to me to be the easiest to put into practice. There are several real-life examples of success and lots of different ways of going about it. Basically - be enthusiastic about life, youself, and, of course, God. One of the good things about this book is that God doesn't come into it from the beginning, meaning that those who have no faith are hooked by the ideas for improving their lives before they get chance to be put off by ideas of 'the God squad' I have combed England to get hold of another copy. - The original one I read was published in UK in 1991 and is now out of print - I am more delighted than I can say to find it here - I have lots of people of my acquaintance to whom I intend to give it. I must be impressed to want to buy it just to give it away!

The book gets to the heart of investing, particularly in mutual funds. Dollar-Cost Averaging Plus, as detailed in the book, is, I believe, an excellent way to invest in funds.

The book is a clear and comprehensive guide to investing in mutual funds. It explains everything an investor needs to know about mutual funds. The Dollar-cost Averaging formula detailed in the book is a good idea and could increase an investor's return on a fund.

Of all the books on investing that I've read over the years, this one was at once, the most pleasurable and most challanging to my own beliefs. Mr. Phelps spent over 40 years in and around Wall Street and the world of investing. His activities included being a private investor, columnist, analyst, author and financial advisor. His career spanned from just before the Crash of 1929 to the 70's.

In spite of the the rather glamorous title, the book is actually about Buy and Hold investing. Yes, it is true that you could have made a million dollars by buying any of about 350 stocks he mentions if you had invested $10,000 and just sat back and watched it grow over time! Doesn't sound that exciting, does it? However, I hope you didn't miss the point that he mentions AT LEAST 350 opportunities to have done this! Most of the companies' names will be quite familiar to most readers.

With the histories of many of these companies available, Mr. Phelps goes back in time to examine what it was about these companies that made their potential as great as it was. How can one begin to see what it takes for a company to do well? Well enough to drive its stock from $1.00 to $100.00 over a period of time? This is the heart of Mr. Phelps' book. He comes up with common characteristics that show up in many of the stocks he uses as examples.

Now, what about his strategy of stock ownership? He says that the best way to preserve the wealth you accumulate from investing is to NOT SELL your stocks! Uncle Sam always wants a piece of the pie when you decide to cut it! Mr. Phelps says that no matter how long it takes, it's better to pass on stocks to your heirs than it is to sell them too soon!!

"The reason," he says, "that more people don't make 10,000% on their money is that they don't set their goals high enough!" He says that to sell a stock sooner than that is an admission that you have failed at this goal and haven't done your homework properly! Move over Mr. Lynch! Who wants a Ten Bagger when we can shoot for a 100 Bagger!

Certainly in these times of trading stocks as frequently as heartbeats, his style seems almost radical. After all, who interviews the guy that just buys stocks? CNBC will just ignore you!

Mr. Phelps shows in one example, an investor could have seen the possibilities of a 10,000% return several times during a 40 year span! This same stock returned $100 for every $1 invested if held for 40 years, 36 years, 28 years, 20 years and also just 12 years! In other words, the stock price bounced around alot over the 40 year period. This offered the investor who was shrewd enough to have perceived the possibilities several chances to have caught that 10,000% ride! The company story just got stronger with each price cycle.

We work hard to find stocks that will give superior returns over time. We are willing to risk our money based upon our perception of the company's future. Mr. Phelps develops very good selection skills. These same skills will benefit all long term investors.

Thanks Dave Rye for writing a book about the stock market that the average person can understand. After reading your book, I now not only know how to avoid making stupid mistakes when investing in stocks, but how to take advantage of the market and make MONEY.

I have read several other books on clothing and this is one of the best. Unequivocally a keeper. I always wondered why some clothes looked outstanding on me and others made me look like I just got hit by a truck. I have the answer now and will be sure to fill my closet with clothes that flatter my skincolor and tone. Also good advice on classic clothes. Read it a few times and practice! Good Luck

I loved this little book! Very gentle, positive message without being condescending. The art work is beautifully done, I found myself gazing at each illustration (pictures of things Xanthie and Zaybar encounter) and wondering if I can find other works by this talented artist. Read aloud to your child or grandchild, point out the wonderful pictures and wait for the further adventures of these two delightful young creatures. For myself I'll have to order a few more copies for the children I know- my copy is staying right here!
