I had an old canvas canoe I used for duck hunting that was in desperate need of repair. My hunting buddy and I decided to tackle the job of replacing broken ribs, rotten planking and re-canvasing the old girl. We literally had no idea of what we were getting into, and without the help of this book we would still be lost. It provided us with some great ideas and great step by step instructions.

Okay, I have to be honest. Robert C. Genn was my grandpa and I love his books simply because I'm his granddaughter and he was one of my heroes. The truth is, if you want an up-to-date text, this is not the one to buy. If you want an older and outdated text by the man who owned Genn Technical Institute in Hollywood, years and years ago, this is the one to buy. It's a good insight into how much has changed and how the electronic industry has evolved...and how much is has stayed the same. Thanks for the legacy granddad!

ALthough I have not reviewed the 1984 edition, I was priveleged to review the 1981 edition. It catalogs every automobile manufactured around the world, by automakers large and small. What was most interesting, was that many American cars long gone, are still being manufactured in other parts of the world! For example, in 1981, Chevrolet was STILL manufacturing the 1969 Nova in South America(they call it the Chevy Malibu, interestingly enough!) The early 1970 Torino/Fairlane was still being made in Australia. The 1970 Maverick was still being produced in Brazil, and the Rambler American was being assembled in Mexico! Evidently old tooling from American plants are shipped overseas, where the "oldies" continue in production (without the expense of producing new tools in those countries).

In addition to photos, each highlighted car is accompanied by a full technical description of mechanical specifications. Not every car is photographed, but an index at the back of the book DOES list each manufacturer in each country, and describes every model assembled. Although I have never travelled to most of the places described, if the book is accurate, many treasures await U.S. antique car collectors in foreign showrooms around the world!

Practical experience and basic concept of imaging equipment theory, function and repair. Lots of valuable information on installation, calibration and quality. Could be a good book for an associate degree program in biomedical or clinical technology or for someone already working in the field who would like to migrate into imaging repairs.

I found this book to be very useful. I has great color and B&W photos of the details and clear instructions for repairs. It includes complete engine and outdrive disassembly and assembly. I took my boat to the dealer two times and they still did not get it fixed correctly. I read this manual and did the tune-up and my boat runs super now. Most marine dealers are not interested in repairing older Yamaha stern drives so this manual becomes vital if you want the job done right. I have not found any mistakes or omissions. I give this book 5 stars.

This book is great. I thought I would have trouble finding info on a bike i picked up used but I was wrong. This book has EVERYTHING you need to know and even a few extra tips.

This book is divided into about fourteen sections and deals with many different parts of the home. Like the book LIVING WELL ON A SHOESTRING, it puts strong emphasis on saving money. But this book puts more emphasis on recycling common objects around the house and using them in a plethora of ways.

His office suggestions are worth the price of the whole book! He suggests using a current glossy calendar for a mouse pad for the computer, using extra envelopes that come with greeting cards as storage for computer disks in file folders -- and show you how to specially cut them for the purpose. He suggests using a dish rack for temporary sorting of file folders. And get this -- for car enthusiasts, he suggests using a clean distributor cap as a pen and pencil holder and conversation piece!

This book is a smorgasbord of great ideas for every part of the home. If you put these ideas to use, you'll get back the price of the bok many times!

In the first part, the book give the essential procedures, for each listed tractor, to take apart garden tractors major sections as :  - Front axle and steering system  - Drive belts, clutch, brake, PTO drive  - Transaxle (gear and hydrostatic)  - Hydraulic system The adjustment procedure where it's applicable with excellent exploded view of each section. The second part treat of transaxles by brand name for overhaul procedure. The last part contains the overhaul procedure for almost all garden tractor's engine treated in first part with remove and install procedure, critical torque specifications and referenced figures. It cover the mechanical and electrical section. Very usefull book!

A recent addition to my Jaguar book collection.This book covers just about everything any XJ40 owner and enthusiast will love.And it even covers the 6.0 V12 models.This book fits the "Complete Companion" series of books.I love the section that includes modified cars.This is the best book on the XJ40 model Jaguars.I hope Nigel writes an eqivalent book on the X300 models that followed the XJ40.

I highly recommend this book.
