This book is an excellent source of information for novice and expert alike. It includes many exploded diagrams, photographs, and color wiring diagrams. If you own a 1966-1969 VW Bug or Karmann Ghia you NEED this book in your shop or garage!

Sure beats skinned knuckles.....

If you own the car, you should own this manual. For those of you who own these cars, and need service, you will be much better prepared for dealing with a mechanic. Fluids specs, full description of features, and service recommendations are included.

For those of you who will work on their own car, you will find the "german method" for completing the work. An absolute godsend when installing stereos, etc, as the each of the approximately 2 billion VW/AUDI clip styles are covered (okay, I exaggerated)These manuals are derived from the manuals supplied to the dealers. Worth every cent.

VW Passat TDI Repair Manual

Wonderful content. I have owned multiple volkswagons and their repair manuals are exceptional. Being able to do my own repairs saves me money making the manual well worth the price. There is even a troubleshooting section where if you don't know exactly what is wrong with your car you can narrow it down based on the conditions you are experiencing. The book points you in the right direction. The diagrams of the components are clear and easy to read.

Yet another manifestation of Rilke's poetic genius

Though personally, I find him much sounder on the Mercedes or BMW, but that's just me. Also check out Soren Kierkegaard's masterful explication of the inner workings of the Volvo, and Haruki Murakami's recent works on Toyotas; he is especially enlightening on the interaction of enviromentalism and modern urbanism as represented by the Prius.

This is a great book for the Do-it your self, back yard, VW mechanic. Information is easy to find and easy to use. This book has full wiring diagrams. They were color coded at one time, but the black and white version is still quite useful. I find this book has much more info than the Chilton repair guide. If I had to choose one manual for my VW, this would be the one.
