I bought this book to read to my first grade class. The illustrations are wonderful and held the attention of my class better than most books. The progression of the story's events was just the right blend of humor and suspense to keep them intrigued and looking forward to the next page turn. They hardly noticed that they were also learning a value lesson for life, while enjoying a very good story.

This is the best book I've come across on the subject of HMOs and managed care. It is truly aimed at helping the medical consumer. And, it works. Not only does it help a person pick an HMO or other plan, but it also gives people wonderful insight and strategies on how to get the most out of the HMO once you're in.

This is by far the best book I found on the subject.

Dr. Don Mayes was able to represent in a excellent way the knowledge requirements for a professional management of dental care. I have read you book many times and also used it as a parameter for the development of the first commercial dental plan with capitation concept in Brazil, the second largest private health market in the world. I am looking forward reading your next and most modern edition, with a lots of new informmation about the dental plan management.

i want a overview of each content in 5 lines each of the boo

for a long time now, i was looking for a "start from scratch" book in understanding auto electronics. a book with illustrations that actually explains how it works. this book is a great introduction, a must buy if you really want to know the fundamentals. even though it's about RV's too, it tells you all you need to know about autos.
the more you read, the better you understand what you read.
i now know how the battery really works, know what it really does, what the altenator does. i know about switches, sensor,actuators and solenoids now. at first you you need time to grasp the concept, but it gets easy to understand very quickly. 5 stars.

This book is well written with lots of documented examples to support the authors views. Its a ralatively easy read and is laid out in a logical format. I recommend this book to anyone in the maintenance field, and not just avaiation maintenance, who wishes to understand why errors are committed and who like to develop a plan to identify and reduce their occurance.

. . . so why am I rating it 5 stars, you may ask. Oh, that's the easy part--my grandfather wrote it. Not to say I won't give it an honest review, so here goes:

This book was helpful twenty-years ago. The writing style is appropriately technical yet easy-to-read. The illustrations (done by my grandmother) are helpful and could have been put together by a modern-day tech writer. All that said, technology advances sped ahead, and because of that, this book is good only as an electronics primer or an example of what USED to be. Five stars because it fulfilled it's purpose perfectly when it was published. It was never meant to stand the test of time.

Oh, and lets not overlook the other reason for the five stars: nepotism. At least I'm honest.

I really enjoyed this book. It's an in-depth history of the Norton Manx racing motorcycles from their inception, through their racing successes, famous tuners, and all the way to the current vintage scene.

There is reasonable technical information, but more enjoyable are the narratives of racing successes, the development of the bike, etc. There are lovely period photographs of the bikes in action, the engines as they evolved, period memorabilia, etc.

There are even sections on the use of the Manx engine in car racing, etc.

I truly enjoyed this book. As I am a fan of the Norton Manx bikes, I liked this book more than many of the other Norton books which describe all the single cylinder bikes, or the twins, etc.

Highly recommended.

An excellent review of topics. The best for engineering examination preparation leading to Engineers Competency Certificates.This book covers a clear description of all relevant chapters. Modernisation in marine engineering and relevant rules and regulations are also dealt with in an orderly fashion. A must buy book for marine engineers.
