Maintenance

Well this manual is great! I used it in rebuilding my motor and the clymer manual gave me the biggest pictures and best instructions on helping me tearing it down, fixxing it and putting it all back together with out the help of a professional. I saved big bucks by just purchaseing this manual and i have a greater knolwlege for the bike now. Also it helps in doing regular maintence like oil change, air filter cleaning, installing every part or taking off parts. I hope you can use this as well as i am and save some money by purchasing this manual.

It's obvious that this book lives up to Clymer's claim of "Based on a complete tear-down" because the photos of just about every process are great. When they substitute line drawings or schematics for photos, they are of equally excellent quality. If you're marginally handy with mechanical stuff, this book can easily take you from beginner to intermediate. Clear, logically laid out instructions on how to do everything from tear down the transmission to wash the bike. The motorcyclist's equivalent of the Chilton's manuals that shade-tree auto mechanics use.

This is the second manual of this type I have owned and they continue to impress me. For someone who never was terribly mechanically minded, this book helps me solve most if not all of my problems fast and cheaply. To me the most important factors about riding are reliability of the equipment and price. With help from the book I can perform general maintenance, fix faults and diagnose performance issues cheaply and efficiently. Most people know how to perform general maintenance on a dirt bike, but this book covers many extra steps to increase the reliability of the bike. To help also there are pictures of most steps being performed to help me identify parts, and also to make me more confident about doing this maintenance. I recommend this book for the any dirt bike rider who is looking to become more technically involved and understand more about his/her bike. The only other books available containing this content are the workshop manuals, but they are very expensive.

Clymer has the best books that helps you do it yourself. This one has all the information you need to maintain your VN 800 and has a lot of tips that helps you manage the best from your bike.

Having used many manuals over the years I found this repair manual the most comprehensive and easy to understand yet. This manual has more photos and more exploded views that I could have hoped for.

If you like to do your own work on your bike or even just want to do basic maintenance then this manual is invaluable.

This is an extreamly clear and concise manual that covers all aspects of maintence, light and even in-depth repairs. The manual gives accurate reprinted information and specifications from the OEM original shop manuals. This is a must have for the ATV owner! If you are a seasoned technician, or do-it-yourselfer, this is one to add to your library! It has many excellent photographs, and well detailed illustraions to help in identifing components, and assemblies. It is easy to read and understand, and even has recomendations for specific tools needed. If you own one of these ATV's , you won't want to be without this book!

I was impressed on the amout of detail and pictures.new and long time banshee owners alike can benfit from it's knowledge.it also applies to the 97,98 banshee's as well.

I found this book to do a fine job of meeting its stated objectives of giving general guidelines to the beginning and intermediate level racer. I would consider it a "must read" for anyone seriously thinking about buying or preparing a car for competition. While it is less technical than a Carrol Smith book, and it isn't a "how-to" cookbook, it does guide the reader through the thought processes which should be undertaken prior to spending hard earned money.

Mr. McBeath's writing style is both clear and entertaining. It takes the reader only a short time to realize he has "been there, done that". I first became aware of Mr. McBeath's skills after reading articles he has written for "Race Car Engineering" magazine. His understanding of the subject matter is evident and he teachs from the point of view that most racers can appreciate, that is, how to do things on a limited budget.

The book is geared towards road racers as opposed to the circle track or drag racing crowd and many of the references are for the UK audience. But the lessons to be learned can benefit anybody willing to take the time to give what he says some thought.

The photographs and the illustrations are used to clarify and are fine quality. It's worth the price.
