I'm a professional home inspector and I include this book as a free gift to my clients. I reviewed numerous books and had several final candidates to choose from before deciding to include this book with my report package. I've had nothing but positive feedback from my clients and would encourage all home owners to have this book in their home reference library. It has beautiful color pictures and and easy to read and follow format. It lists just about every practical repair a home owner could do and helps you decide whether or not you want to do the repair or call on professional help.

I'm pretty thorough when it comes to investigating which books to buy for any given topic. Based on my "research", THIS was my choice for learning more about modifying the Harley V-Twin engine. I couldn't be happier with my selection.
It's well written, easy to comprehend, and offers tons and tons of useful information for the novice who wants to learn more about the performance aspects of the Evo and Shovelhead V-Twins.
It begins with a brief review of the basic 4 stroke principles, then gets into the details of what creates power, then offers various combinations to do so---to meet YOUR bike's purpose and how you intend to ride it.
Do you know what defines a Stage I, II, III motor? At what RPM does torque and horsepower always cross over on a chart? At what RPM is the optimum shift point for YOUR bike's engine?
Buy it and find out! I highly recommend this text !! And, I'm picky !!

This is one of the most up to date bicycle repair manuals that I have seen. Includes sections on selecting a bike, necessary tools, quick fixes, advanced repairs and maintenance, and bike extras. All information is given in easy to understand language (there's even a glossary for those of us who want to learn the latest cycling jargon). What stands out most, however, are the full-color photos and illustrations. This book is not only useful, but fun to look at. The Bike Book is definitely the best value in a bicycle repair and maintenance manual that can be found anywhere.

This book was interesting, entertaining, and very informative in the most hilarious manner! I laughed, I cried, I redid my bathroom! I recommend this book to anyone who is in need of a laugh or needs to repair a household. I love this author. I hope he writes many more books in the future!

From my first RB repair manual VW Golf 85-92, I was able tocomplete many tasks from brakes to suspension then even did my ownclutch... Then now with my BMW this book is nothing but outstanding. Does not even compare on any scale to Haynes or Chilton.

I'm a professional boatbuilder in Port Townsend ,WA. While there are dozens if not hundreds of boat repair and building books out there, few are as user friendly to the uninitiated as this book is.If you are contemplating purchasing this book to perform maintenance or repair on a wooden boat, buy it! Along with "The Arts of the Sailor" and " The Marlinspike Sailor", this volume belongs on any traditional sailor's shelf.It is one of very,very few books I've encountered that explains repair of a lapstraked (clinker) plank. The overall layout and terminology as applied to parts of the boat is outstanding. The next apprentice that walks through my shop door is getting this book handed to him.

On the one hand, this is a very instructional book with good, practical advice on driving and parking in the Boston area. On the other hand, it's simply hysterical. I almost wish I had this book when I first started driving in Massachusetts, but I think having experienced it all before reading the book made it that much funnier.

Anyone who lives and drives in Boston, or anyone moving to Boston who plans to drive a car, should read this book. Afterwards, you will fit right in on the Massachusetts roadways. Even if you aren't interested in using these techniques, understanding them helps protect you from other drivers who do. And the more you've actually experienced Boston drivers, the funnier it gets.
