This book is a must-have for Audi 100 or 200 owners. If you would like to work on this car yourself, I highly recommend buying this book even before you pop the hood. The exploded views of parts and detailed information provided in this book makes it a godsend to those of us who are brave enough to fix these beasts!

If you own the car, you should own this manual. For those of you who own these cars, and need service, you will be much better prepared for dealing with a mechanic. Fluids specs, full description of features, and service recommendations are included. For those of you who will work on their own car, you will find the "german method" the only method for completing the work. An absolute godsend when installing stereos, etc, as the each of the approximately 2 billion VW/AUDI clip styles are covered (okay, I exaggerated)These manuals are derived from the manuals supplied to the dealers. Worth every cent.

The Audi 100, 200 Official Factory Repair Manual 1989, 1990, 1991 is the most comprehensive repair manual offered for the Audi. As many Audi owners know, Chilton nor Haynes does not offer a repair manual for the 100 or 200. However, this manual covers every repair and maintanance detail in an easy to read and navigate manual. This IS the manual used by Audi Dealer Service Centers. It is a must-have for owners of the 100 or 200 who prefer to repair thier own automobiles.

I have two copies of this manual, one to take with me in my car, and one to read at night. Great reference, great photos.

When I was a teenager I watched the movie 'Ferris Bueller's Day off'; it was then I wished to own a vintage convertible. I ended up with not the Ferrari as in the movie but with a very stylish sports convertible Triumph Spitfire (1969). One sunny summer afternoon I was zipping through the windy roads of Big Basin California and it was there I experienced a disaster. Regrettably I was warned about this from a few mature friends and colleagues but I just failed to acknowledge it; the warning was breakdown do happen. With smoke blowing from the engine it was a sign for a bad news. My most capitalistic mechanic quoted me a maximum price for which I could have almost gotten another one of these mobile. I had a hard choice to either cut my losses and walk away or somehow get it fixed. My many memories spent in the car along with my childhood dream prevented the former action. My only choice was to get my hands greasy. Well that was the easy part; my minor limitation was that my
knowledge about working of the car was limited to three steps 1.Put keys in ignition and start the engine. 2. Something happens 3. Wheels rotate and car moves. Very simplistic I agree; but I needed more understanding in step 2. Something happens. So I searched around and I came across this bible for dummies in car repair. Over the last 8 months I have spent much of my free time under the hood and getting my hands dirty; my guide is this 300 pages manual. I have learnt immensely from it and am more aware of the mechanics of the car; I (surprised myself) was able to dismantle the engine diagnose the cause correct it and put it back together.
If you interested I found that I was running low on radiator fluid due to a hose leak; the car was overheating which caused the pistons to blow up. The machinist did a fine job in replacing the pistons and I had them oversized which adds more firepower to the engine. I have the car running but it needs minor adjustments on timing. My goal is to make this a high performance car and race with it. In my to-do list I intend to have high performance exhaust system; Side-Draft Carburetor; and an Electrical distributor, all this will add to the horsepower. I highly recommend this book to anyone still afraid of working on cars. The illustrations along with the text will guide you very comfortably and answer all the questions that may arise

A must have. The book provides all the typical Haynes information and is an invaluable assest in repair and service. It provides full and detailed descriptions on inspecting, tune-ups, and rebuilding all parts of the car from the electrical system to the carberators. The book good has many details about emissions controls, but could use more.

Every technology in the book is covered from a troubleshooting perspective. There isn't the usual fluff about new features and installation. This book has a permanent place on my desk for quick reference

This book is becoming my first reference when I need something explained or I need to troubleshoot. Written in a straight forward manner that is easy to understand. Lots of command-line tools explained. Included disk has good third-party tools. The fact that it also includes Windows 2003 and XP makes it relevant for today's Microsoft networks.

This book is plain Awesome.

As an IT Pro with over 10 years experience supporting Microsoft Technology, Networks, and teaching classes, I find myself wishing that I had this book when I was starting out, and developing lesson plans.

It covers every aspect of troubleshooting, reviews many tools and their useage from both MSFT and some third parties.

What it didn't include, but will most likly have in future releases is the following.

Networking Tools the new MSFT NetBIOS / Browsing troubleshooting tool isn't covered because it is new.

No SQL coverage. More and More admins are supporting MSDE or SQL 2K lite technology, I think he should include a chapter about that.

No IIS coverage. More and More admins and helpdesks are gonna need skills troubleshooting IIS technologies. Look for a book from Brett Hill coming out soon.

No Exchange or SMTP coverage. The reason many people setup Microsot Networks in the first place is do provide groupware.

No Clustering Information. This guy works for Comm Vault. You would think he would cover clustering technology and troubleshooting.

This is the best Mileage book I have ever seen. It kept me organized and my taxes were a breeze.

I have found this book to be very useful for keeping track of vehicle mileage and related expenses. I highly recommended this for anyone who needs to keep this information for tax purposes. It has a durable, thick vinyl cover that has really held up in my car. The forms are well designed and have plenty of room for writing. My favorite features are the built in envelope for holding receipts and the spiral binding which allows me to lay it out flat.

I ordered your book when I heard about it on your radio show. I found the book very helpful because I did not want to sound like a fool on the radio. I showed the boat to my boating friends too.

This is the best book that actually explained to me how to use my boat's radio. The examples make is so easy and the index is very helpful. Also, I like your weekly newspaper column too as I read the articles on line.

It has it all, don't buy any other manual, if you own a fox, this is the one you want. It helps the do-it-yourselfer become a do-it-righter.

Extremely detailed and informative, this book has all the information the home mechanic could ever possible need. From changing a sparkplug to rebuilding the transmission (yes, there *is* a detailed transmission breakdown), it's all here. All systems are covered and diagramed in detail (even circuits), and things that are often passed over by other manuals (instrument panel, etc.) are covered.

While the author assumes that the reader has some knowledge of auto repair, those with even a basic knowledge should not be confused and will learn a lot from this book. This book is well worth the money.

Those who drive and love their Volkswagen Fox understand that although many parts will bolt on from different VW models, the Fox is somewhat quirky in the way it is put together. The Robert Bentley service manual is the Bible for VW Fox owners who want to service their vehicles properly. It contains detailed diagrams of wiring and vacuum systems (very important in a VW) and though not written for the novice mechanic, is easy enough to understand for anyone to get started servicing their own vehicle. Additionally, if you want to get into more complex service issues, the Bentley manual will take you as far as you want to go. If you are looking for the right way to take care of your Fox, look no further.

If you plan on doing a restoration of a beetle or bus this is a must have. There are other VW books out there that mention body work to a degree, but this book goes into detail for every step of the process. Of particular interest was replacing floor pans, heater channels and just about every other problem area on a beetle. There are step by step pictures as well. The book also covers interior restoration and mechanicals.

Through-out this book you will find very detailed drawings directly from Volkswagen and step-by-step instructions with illustrations. Book covers: chassis and bodywork, interiors, as well as mechanical and electrical components. Illustrations are black&white.

You begin with a foreward by Ivan Hirst himself. The man responsible from the British military for breathing life back in to the recently war torn vw plant in 1945. This is the definitive book on restoring your vw beetle and transporter. The resto focuses mainly on the beetle and only touching the real problem areas on the vw transporter (van). With this book, and some skill with the welder, you can rid your vw of painful rust and wear. You'll get a history lesson as well as a religous lesson on getting intimate with the structure and mechanics of your beloved vw. If you think you won't need this one, you're passing up an opportunity.

Want to impress your friends when they start talking about 'tuning' and 'horsepower'? Buy this book then. A lot of good info for beginners and even people with a lot more experience. If you know all about engines, camshafts, etc., then this book will not be a good buy. Personally, I think it didn't have enough info on Honda engines, so I hope Mr. Edgar will write 21st Century Performance Part 2.

What a great book !

This book was recommended to me by a fellow car enthusiast in Australia so I decided to take a chance on it - I wasn't disappointed.

This hardback book has a modern column based page-layout and is printed in a clear typeface with excellent clarity and image reproduction. The chapters are well sequenced and cover a comprehensive list of topics.

Of particular interest to me were the detailed sections covering engine management and electronics both OEM, after market and DIY.

Other chapters cover engine, forced induction and intercooling, chassis, aerodynamics, wheels & tyres, suspension, rolling roads etc. all in comprehensive detail with well written and easy to follow copy, clear photo's, diagrams and charts.

This book is also ideal for owners wishing to perform some simple DIY electronic modifications or build turbo boost controllers as there are some practical low cost projects to try. I have had excellent success with some of these and found that this added an almost interactive context to the book.

The author, Julian Edgar, is obviously passionate about automotive tuning and has extensive knowledge and experience in this field, this comes across in the book in a very positive and enthusiastic way.

All in all a book well worth adding to your collection.

Harley riders develope a passion for the bikes. Maybe it has something to do with a safe vent for midlife crisis. If you are looking for a Harley novel read "The Second Coming Of Age" by: C. Vedrine

While the title suggests a listing of parts you can buy for your Harley, the book actually covers "What you can do to your Harley". The sub-title says it better: "A Guide to Personalizing Your Bike". The book is loaded with fabulous photos (and diagrams, where needed, like where they tell you about the real meaning of dyno numbers). I read every single page with great care and attention, and I know I will do so again.

The table of contents clues you in right away about what awaits you inside: Paint, Seats, Handlebars and Foot Controls, Powertrain, Suspension, Wheels and brakes. The subtitles in each section go much further. Installing inspection covers, re-jetting the carb, how to lower your bike (and why you may not want to), practical advice on changing handlebars, choosing an exhaust system, and setting up your suspension are just a taste of what you'll be getting into in here.
