A Book to be shared!
When I wanted to share this wonderful little book with the women from my church I put together a program. I found about 20 pictures of the sea that I have taken and the same number of shells ( some broken ) I presented it like the books of our chilhood. As I read the book out loud I would, on occassion, say "pass" and they would pass the picture and the shell to the person next to them. That way they were able to visit the sea and feel the book as well as hear it.
I have given many copies away. It is a great source of inspiration. My suggestion would be; share it!

Inner Peace
After losing my 12 year old son, my soul felt lost. I happened upon this beautiful book in a card store and felt drawn to it. Not only did I feel a connection of being "broken" but my son was a "special needs child" and I saw such an appreciation of seeing the beauty in everything - especially the broken. The original book has long since been given away, as was the second one I purchased. I still long to be able to just pick it up and rekindle my appreciation of where I am.

great book to share with a hurting friend for comfort
I think this book is a great tool for hurting hearts. I am an R.N. and have a calling to comfort people. Sometimes it is hard to find the words but Carol so beautifully enables the reader to feel the pain and hopefully start breaking down barriers to start the healing process.I have a neighbor now disabled from M.S. have promised her I would visit and have tea. I have to admit I was apprehensive about going. I am now looking forward to our visit and sharing My beautiful Broken Shell.Thank you Carol for sharing with us so we can also share.God bless your work.

Funny, Touching, and Real!
This beautifully illustrated book will bring a tear to a (grand)mother's eye although with smiles and warmth. The author speaks through the eyes of a baby admiring a brother 5/6 years older. Perfect for young readers. This book should be nominated for an award... simply wonderful!!

Meet a Modern Day Hero.....
"This is my big brother. Everyone makes a fuss over how big I am, but my brother is REALLY big..." So begins the unseen narrator, as she discusses the merits of her wonderful big brother. As far as she's concerned he's amazing, talented, and can do just about any and every thing. She knows all this because she watches him all day long. He's her superhero... "I love my big brother, and he loves me." Valorie Fisher's debut children's book is filled with sibling love, wonder, and whimsy as it looks at life through the eyes of a baby. Her simple, spare text sets the stage, but it's the stunning and evocative, bold and playful photographs that really steal the show, and bring this special relationship to life. Perfect for preschoolers, My Big Brother is a joyous, fun-filled celebration of siblings that shows that life just gets better for everyone in the family with each new addition.

An enjoyable easy-reader picture book
Valorie Fisher's My Big Brother is an enjoyable easy-reader picture book, illustrated with vivid photographs and celebrating the relationship between toddler and bigger brother. A charming book for beginning readers that is colorful, fun, and touched with love, My Big Brother is an enthusiastically recommended addition to family, school, and community library picturebook collections for beginning readers.

Excellent Work
I have not the wit nor the folly to attempt to summarise the work contained in the My Big Toe Trilogy; Tom Campbell has already done an outstanding job of encapsulating and organising thirty years of interest, application, annotation and first hand experience of altered states of consciousness (awareness), and yet, there absolutely no doubt, this man is very down-to-earth.

The Trilogy format is a good idea. Each book is a comfortable, progressive read, and the space between books gives time for reflection and digestion. MBT is totally free of religious, political or philosophical bias; it needs no specialist knowledge or training, just interest, an open sceptical mind and the courage to consider a much larger Picture of Reality than we presently enjoy.

I have read the Trilogy 3 times now, and each time, perhaps through familiarity, I am aware of significant new information. MBT WILL affect you at some level or other, be assured. If you are in search of new ground where truth does not wither under the weight of belief, dogma or cultural presumptions, give this work a chance.

I head an open group workshop based on transpersonal discovery (Conscious awareness).
Tom Campbell's Big TOE is not just a constant reference, but it has helped many of us to conceptualise what previously had been areas of indigestible intellectual understanding. I cannot possibly recommend this work highly enough.
The opportunity of a lifetime should be grasped within the lifetime of the opportunity.
I sense this is it.

Another Point of View on My Big TOE
Who should read these books?

Anyone who desires to advance to adult level in this children's world in which we presently live should go to the trouble of working their way through this trilogy of books, whatever the cost in effort determined by the level at which you choose to learn.
Anyone who already functions as an adult should read this trilogy in order to complete your understanding of the Reality in which you must function and of which you are an integral part.

What can you expect to learn or achieve?

Almost everything that you need to know that is not, of necessity, "do it yourself" only! The author has specifically written the My Big TOE trilogy for reading on several levels with corresponding levels of effort required. Please understand that my comments are intended to encourage you to read, not to discourage you from reading, these books. My intent is to show you why you should read these books at no matter what cost in effort you choose to expend. First, you will find out how much you need to unlearn. Then you will find out how much you do not understand of what is being said and what is going on around you. If however you already possess a high level of such knowledge, you can expect to have a great deal clarified. This trilogy of books constitutes what in the field of physics is called a "theory of everything", thus the acronym TOE. You will see that this is literally true of these books.

To come close to fully understanding My Big TOE requires a high entry threshold, a wide range of knowledge. The author has tried to offset this by reiterating his message from different viewpoints in order to aid your understanding. As he also points out, much of the detail can be skipped as useful to advanced specialists and the main points still be comprehended. He has also tried to relieve the intensity with humorous comments. Not everyone will be able to appreciate the humor however, which the author recognizes, and it is also optional. If you have been to graduate school in the sciences, you will recognize the author as a kindred spirit. He worked as a physicist in industry and collaborated with Robert Monroe of Out of Body fame in his early research.

The main points will provide you with an understanding of the Reality of which you are a part. How it originated, the few characteristics and principles from which it began and by which it developed, including that small part of the greater reality that we experience in our day to day lives. You will be surprised that these principles are things which you probably already know about, just not their full significance in the greater reality. You will also be given a general description of that part of the greater reality which we do not normally experience but which you can if you so desire. This will be developed logically and a reference is given in which a detailed description of our every day "physical" reality, including its physics as understood by present day science and beyond, is developed from the same set of beginning principles as given in My Big TOE. These principles are applicable to the present reality in which you live. Knowing what they are will tell you a lot about what to expect from life, how to deal with it and what is the best way to interact with others for your maximum spiritual advancement during your passage through it.

You will be told the veritable meaning of life and your place in it. It is more explicitly stated than you will find in most other places. It will probably be a great surprise to you and you may not find it to be comforting. Note that I mentioned that we live in a children's world and much that you and everyone else have been taught is intended for comfort, not reality and literal truth. Keep in mind at all times while you read and study My Big TOE that you in your true being are a native and at home in this reality and that you have been dealing with it reasonably successfully through many previous periods of "physical" life when you did not have this information. Now you will have the true story. This information is almost never available while incarnated, other than in very diluted and culturally distorted form. It will be a lot like when you first found out where babies came from. Learning about the pleasure possible, the responsibilities and difficulties involved in the greater process are a matter for you to experience and thus learn for yourself. From these 3 books you will have the information necessary to literally take your first step as a conscious adult while still involved in a "physical" life into the greater reality of which you are a resident part and that is your true home.

Will these books change your life?

Only to the degree to which you are willing and prepared to change. Over time, the degree of change could be very profound if you choose to expend the effort to make it so.

Will you be sorry that you read them?

Only to the extent and in the sense that it is an end of innocence. You will be made aware of laws of being of which ignorance is no excuse. Since you will be judged based on things that you are presently ignorant of with that ignorance not accepted as an excuse, best to lose such innocence. And no problems with apples, snakes and "original sin" this time!

A logical approach to religious understanding
If you feel an impulse towards religious contemplation, but tend to find most popular approaches lacking in logical rigor or discipline, this series of books will help you towards the insight that you've been seeking.

Because the book's ideas and information are presented in a scientifically valid manner (all assumptions follow from clearly stated propositions), you'll have the freedom to assess the books basic assertions without being told what to think or feel about them. At the same time, Mr. Campbell's sense of humor makes for a purely enjoyable read - something you'll want to kick back with on a lazy Sunday afternoon and really soak in.

And once you begin to give these books your complete and undivided intellectual attention, you'll be presented with a way of conceiving human experience that you've never even dreamed of. This work goes beyond insights offered in the Celestine Prophecy or even the Seth material. What the "My Big Toe" series offers you is nothing less than a logically concise and justified explanation of the actual working nature of the universe.

All the big questions are approached and answered: the nature of the soul, sense experience, artificial intelligence, free will - you name it. By using his first-hand experience to formulate propositions needed explain the true nature of experience, Tom Campbell has almost created a new genre: one that is simultaneously scientific, religious, philosophical, and personally inspiring.

If you are personally suited to its method of approach, it may change the way that you see EVERYTHING. What more could you ask of a book?

Brittany's Book Review
This book is a fiction book about a seven year old girl telling about how her's and Jesus' birthday are celebrated each year. The author, Holly Davis explains how the little girl's birthday and Jesus' birthday are very similiar. She tells how the little girl and her family celebrates her birth and how the families picked out or found names for each baby. Nancy Munger did a really good job with the colorful and childlike illustrations in this book. I would recommend this book to every child in America because it is very interesting, even to me,and it helps to teach children about Jesus.

I LOVE THIS BOOK!
It totally cuts through the commercialism of Christmas to explain the true meaning in a way a child can understand. In the age of Santa, toys, Frosty, Rudolf, etc., it's refreshing to see Jesus' birth explained in this innovative and child friendly way. Read it to your child throughout the Christmas season.

Favorite times, Birthdays and Christmas
The cover says for 2 to 6 but I feel this will appeal to a broader group than that. Read this lovely little gem to your children, grandchildren, child care group,Sunday School class,or as part of a little primary program about Christmas or BIRTHDAYS. If it is a one-on-one situation, take advantage of the opportunity to answer questions that might arise.

One Man's Journey; Inspiration for a Nation
Standing in line at the Lincoln Memorial, a book beckoned to me that I previously hadn't seen before. The face of Frederick Douglas grabbed my attention; a man that I've respected for many years, encountering him mainly through my study of Abraham Lincoln. On the spur of the moment, I snatched up a copy of "My Bondage and My Freedom", and within a few days, my admiration in Frederick Douglass was transformed from interest to awe.

Frederick Douglass orginially penned his book as a response to people's accusations that someone as articulate and composed as he couldn't possibly be a former slave. With that goal in mind, Douglass wrote his memoirs, in a straight forward, powerful way. In the book, he painfully and honestly documents the path his early life took; the memories of being owned, how slaves coped during these times, and how he managed to pull himself out of it all.

While Douglass' life in itself is amazing, (as he describes the amazing process he undertook to learn how to read), what amazed me even more are Douglass' discourses that he sprinkles through the book, discussing relevant issues during the time. In one instance, he addresses the concern about why slaves simply didn't run away from their oppressive situations. It's almost as if you can actually hear the people talking to Douglass and he responding to them.

This book does not only tell the tale of a truly amazing American, but gives us a unique insight to the times. This book should be required reading in every high school in this country.

Amazing! Will Inspire All Who Read.
This is an absolutely amazing book. Douglass is truly one of the most amazing figures from America's dark era of slavery. His story, from his roots in Talbot County, Maryland, to his freedom above the Mason-Dixon, will amaze anyone who reads it.
After reading this book, I couldn't believe how one human being could overcome such trials and tribulations as Douglass did. He is a self-learned individual, a truly gifted orator, and a real icon of our country's history. Don't sleep on this man's story!

My Bondage of Freedom by Frederick Douglass
What are your impressions of Frederick Douglass? What would you say about Douglass observation that "conscience cannot stand much violence? Do you think it was possible to be a good slave owner? Why or why not? Why does Douglass view slaveholders as well as slaves as victims of slavery? Why is education incompatible with slavery? Why do you think the white children's attitude toward slavery is different from that of their parents? How would you describe Douglass attitude towards Mrs. Auld?

Fine Collection Of Children's Literature
This set of books was a part of my childhood, and instilled in me a love of reading that persists to this day. Our particular set was from 1960 and contained only eight of the twelve volumes, but I managed to obtain an entire collection and they are now part of my children's life, too. Each volume begins at a grade level---One being the easiest to Twelve being suitable for high-school level reading. There are selections from some of the finest writers, such as Jonathan Swift, Robert Louis Stevenson, and Rudyard Kipling, as well as fairy tales and folk legends from all around the world, both East and West. The illustrations are gorgeous and some of the monsters quite scary, but there is nothing extremely gruesome or inappropriate for young readers. From the simple and charming nursery rhymes of the first volume to the more mentally and emotionally challenging material contained in the last volume, these books take their reader on a marvelous journey through worlds both real and imaginary. This is a delightful way to open up a child's mind to reading. (For those who find the "Little Black Sambo" story offensive---though he was an Eastern Indian, not African---the versions of "My Book House" published after 1971 do not contain this folk tale from India.)

My Book House - Olive Beaupre Miller
I think I'm a fairly unimaginative and unemotional person -- being a middle-aged engineer -- but when I surfed through a book site and saw a photograph of the books that make up Miller's "My Book House", uncontrollable tears rolled down my face.
It's not just that they were the most important books of my childhood -- although they were. From ages five to about twelve there wasn't a day I can remember when I wasn't curled up with one or more of them. With each book geared for a particular age, I started with my parents reading Volume 1, and then, puzzling through the longer words, I was off on my first great reading adventure.
But there's more to "My Book House" than individual nostalgia. Written in the thirties, the books exemplify the shortcomings of America of that time: White Christian male role models, Western culture supreme, and even (sigh) "Little Black Sambo". It's a one-sided view of life: nothing from the Harlem Renaissance, no Judy Blume, no TS Eliot.
Yet "My Book House" exemplifies the America of that time whose children's books took values seriously, instructed in virtue without being preachy, and always kept a sense of optimism. And if you want to re-capture that sense of optimism and simple virtue (for yourself, kids, or grandkids), get a set of the twelve "My Book House" volumes, and start reading them to your babies. You won't ever regret it, and neither will they.

Opens the whole wide world of reading
As an adult, I can look back and see how artfully Olive Miller designed this set of books, leading from nursery rhymes in the first volume to tantalizing summaries of the most bewitching grown up classics in the last. I can appreciate her eclectic choice of illustrations, too (with Dore doing service for Dante near the end.) As a child, from kindergarten through middle school, I only knew that I could spend hours with these volumes every weekend, and always find something fresh and exciting there. And that I would be left thirsty for more - pointed beyond the Book House itself to Pyle and Stevenson, to Dickens and Thackeray and Shakespeare.

It's a pity and a wonder that after serving American kids over half a century of publication, this cornucopia of pleasure and enlightenment ever went out of print.

Importante

One of the greatest writters of Spain "LTV"
Well, the literature have changed, an ray Loriga is part of that changes, LIterature TeleVision (LTV). Specially on this book a "road" story the humor make us feel angry and at the same time, happy; sometimes like we have dead feelings and with some of the Loriga's words you put them alive.

excellent concept
This spanish writer will give us a lot more to talk about in the next few years. I recommend "Worst of All" as well.

Good for more advanced work. but a little "out there"
This book was excellent when one wants to do further study beyond the basic numbers and wings. I had a few breakthroughs while reading it. Toward the end it smacks a bit of "new-age" which will probably not bother some, but, upset my own "Christian sensibilities" a bit. However, I (and other people that I know and study the enneagram with) have found it very helpful in furthuring our understanding of the enneagram. This is not a book for beginners. Riso's Personality Types is much better for that. But if one wants to delve more into the heart/head/gut centers this could be the book for you.

Best advanced book on the enneagram.
This book is best read after you read a basic enneagram book first, when you feel comfortable with the different numbers and meanings. It is excellent for taking you to the next step, how to see yourself and others on a more spiritual level, and how to heal yourself. An excellent read!

A book to put your body mind and soul in unity. a must read
If you don't understand yourself your spouse or kids and life seems out of control. Follow the insights revealed in this book you can get it all together and help those around you whom you love.

An esoteric adventure
I haven't found too many books like this one. You can find many books on the subject if you want to learn "how to" techniques of getting out of your body, but what if you just want a good story? What if you just want a novel adventure about an esoteric topic that is usually ignored? Well if that's what you want, this is the book you're looking for. It's not particularly realistic as far as OBEs go; the protagonist can get out of his body far to easily. But who cares. This book lets you entertain the idea of a life that is not limited to the physical realm. For me, it helps me visualize myself that much closer to doing it. But besides that, it's just plain fun. I wish someone would make a series of movies like this OBE thriller. This is the kind of book that you can't put down. And it's not that big, so you'll get through it quickly, leaving you thirsting for more.

A GOOD BOOK
This is a most interesting story about a boy who has to face his talent (astral projection) and its consequences.
I found the story so thrilling, that I almost read the book at one time only throughout the night. The following morning I had swollen eyes ! The only other book about this subject which fascinated me equally was "Frabato,The Magician" by Franz Bardon.
Due to this book I was less shocked. One tends to think that some things simply happen much too fast...
But in itself a truly and thoroughly fascinating book, and most recomendable.
Anyone interested in this subject, but yet "a beginner", will find itvery helpful.

Best book I've ever read!
I am a major bookworm and I have to say that this is by far the best book I've ever read! Lots of excitement and adventure. It's a good book for ANYONE to read.
