Jascha Heifetz Through My Eyes
Published in Paperback by Kloss Classics (01 September, 2000)
Author: Sherry Kloss

Heifetz Remembered
Sherry Kloss honors her teacher, sharing the reality of the great master. She experienced the "whole man/musician" who mentored her, and shares it joyously with those of us who live vicariously through the pages with her. This is a fine work for aspiring musicians and those of us who have aspired!

Jascha Heifetz Remembered
I highly recommend "Jascha Heifetz Through My Eyes," a book written by Sherry Kloss. Ms. Kloss was so fortunate to have had such a close relationship with Mr. Heifetz, and it is described so touchingly in this book. All lovers of music-and especially of the violin-will find this book a joy to read. Once I started, I couldn't put it down.
In addition, I enjoyed Sherry Kloss' renditions of Heifetz' transcriptions, which she provides on her two compact disks: "Lost and Found Treasures of the Heifetz Legacy" and "Forgotten Gems from the Heifetz Legacy." The book and the two compact disks should be in the library of every violin enthusiast.

A Different Aspect of the Violinist/Teacher
I have read several biographies of Jascha Heifetz, and this is the only one that made me wish that I had met him. Sherry Kloss was able to see beyond the personal idiosyncracies of this consummate violinist to the essential good that was within him. The book is also interesting for the insights it gives the reader into what it was like to be in Heifetz's violin class in the mid 1970's. Unlike some other books and articles I've read about Heifetz, this one did not leave me feeling depressed. It should be on the reading list of anyone interested in the life of Jascha Heifetz or in the study of the violin.

It's so cute and handy!
It's so handy! It's got all this Justin info in it and it's in a small and adorable book with cute pics!

Nice company to travel with
Great pictures of Justin and the rest of the group. Great collectible item for any Justin fans. Whenever I need an uplift, I just pull out this book, read and look at pictures of Justin. He is very inspirational and is so mature for his age. I wasn't mature enough at 19 and that was 21 years ago! LOL

Short but cute!
This little book about Justin was really short but it had, at least, a picture on every page and there was little-known stuff about Justin. All of the pix were very cute and some of them I haven't seen anywhere else. I think it was worth the money, especially since you can put it in your pocket!

Life is My Bitch

Positively Sinful
This is a work of art. I have been reading the web comic for a little over 6 months and when I bought this, I knew that I had gotten myself into something so good that I couldn't let go. This is one of the best books I have gotten my hands on. Five Stars all the way!!!

Shamelessly mocking
An excellent comic by a keenly observant and quite talented artist; my one suggestion: go to his website, where the book is $15 instead of $22.

Finally: Book Two!
I was thrilled to finally see Book Two of the wonderful webcomic Sinfest available after all this time. I read this webcomic each morning, and it's pretty clever. I've had Book One in my bathroom, reading it over and over and over. I probably know all of them by heart. Now I'll have another to keep me occupied. Ishida is a fresh talent, and we should all encourage him to continue his comic, even if the newspapers are too clueless to pick it up.

Wonderful tribute to all mothers
This book of Jean Young's lessons is a tribute to all mothers. They are valuable life lessons for any woman. These may not be the exact lessons your mother taught, but if you add them to your mother's loving lessons of life, you are sure to have a great map to follow.

Love Legacy
March 5, 2000 On reading this book, I reconnected with the tremendous love felt for my mother and the rich experiences she provided me and my siblings. Throughout, I smiled on recognizing the churchgoing experiences and other events also present in my childhood and the southern expressions incorporated in my speech. Thank you for a book that not only celebrates Ms. Young's outstanding African-American mother, but also, my mother and many other unsung mothers who shared special, loving relationships with us, their daughters.

A good read
I always like to read about the lives of other people. Especially one as famous as Jean Young. Her daughter has written a lovely biography as well as life lessons that were taught to her by her mother. A wonderful gem of a book to be read by young and old alike.

Excellent Book of Poerty!
I recommend this book for everybody. The poety is amazing and takes you thru some emotional highs and low. It's also easy to read and understand.

Hilarious
Wally McDoogle gets into one scrape after another, always causing catastrophe after catastrophe. Now, he's been tricked into switching roles with one of his best friends, a girl named Wall Street. Unfortunately, during that period, a major football game takes place and the ballet "The Nutcracker" opens. Wally has to play Wall Street's part as the Sugar Plum Fairy, while Wall Street has to take his place in the football game.

Of course, numerous other major catastrophes occur as well, during those 72 hours.

One thing kept occurring to me. No matter what his sex is, if one is thrown into ballet or any other activity he is unfamiliar with, he will face a much harder time than someone who has practiced it for a long time. So if a boy doing ballet and a girl playing football switched places, they would both find it a lot harder.

There was a story in the story, a story Wally was writing about a superhero. I liked how Wally's superhero sometimes took on a life of its own, talking back to Wally and not doing what Wally wanted. I hear that real writers have that experience all the time.

In reading the well-known, oft-repeated dialog "Is too." "Is not." et al., I was reminded of the March of the Peers in "Iolanthe" by Gilbert and Sullivan. One faction of the peers (the tenors) shouted "Tan-tan-ta-ra!" while the other faction (the basses) countered with "Tsing boom!"

THE FUNNIEST BOOK EVER!!!
THIS BOOK IS ABOUT WALLY AND HIS FRIEND,WALL STREET.WALLY SAYS THAT IT'S HARDER BEING A GUY,BUT WALL STREET THINKS THE OPPISITE.THEN,ANOTHER MCDOOGLE MISHAP BEGINS!THIS BOOK IS VERY HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!

THE FUNNIES THING IN THE WORLD!
I read the book, My Life an a Blundering Balernina. If you didn't, then please do. It's so funny!

We are all Dr. Skov's descendents.
I had the honor of taking a class from Dr. Skov, on "The Experience of War in 20th Century Europe". "Letter to my Descendents" was one of our texts.

I'll admit, there are memoirs of resistance activities that I consider to be more interesting and better written. However, Skov's biting, dark sense of humor, combined with his unassuming sense of arrogance, make for a unique read.

For me, "Letter" drives home the fact that each and every one of us is capable of resistance. The question is, will be accept this in ourselves?

Engaging, insightful look into the Danish Resistance
This work provides a unique look at the individuals involved in the Danish Resistance Movement during World War II. Most other works on the subject describe either the resistance as a whole or a few more public figures, but Skov describes the life and feelings of an individual trying to "put a prick in the German wehrmacht." His perspective is valuable, and he presents his narrative with insightful discussion on both the war and human nature.

Outstanding First Person History
I was fortunate to have Niels Skov as a professor and as an academic advisor some 20 years ago. When I learned he had written a book, I knew it would be well worth reading.

This is as good as it gets in first person history. An honest and direct account with no particular axes to grind. I found the book hard to put down. Niels has included a wealth of fine detail on day-to-day life in the 30's and during the war, which makes his experiences very real, sometimes chillingly so.

Life of My Life : A Novel

Che dolce livro!
Vincent Cardinale is a writer with an eye for detail, an ear for dialog and a heart for his characters. I first read the on-line version of this book over a year ago and declined to review it, thinking the writing was a bit heavy-handed. Yet it has stayed with me and I have thought about the characters almost every day since then! I bought the print edition, reread it and found myself smiling at the characters, savoring the details and reading the poetry out loud-in Italian. So "Life of My Life" is not the next "War and Peace" but is a sweet, easy read that addresses the turning points in love relationships. It gently reminds the reader that growth does not happen without struggle and that with faith, love and family-all things are possible!

Delightful story--such realism
Cardinale weaves such realism into the many delightful plot twists. He also portrays the characters so vividly that you feel you knew them as your next door neighbors. And I don't usually enjoy novels! My husband has even expressed interest in reading this book next--and he only reads military novels.

great book
this noval is the best that i have read all year i do hope that you keep writeing thank you ANN sacramento calf
