Only someone who has experienced the tragic loss of a child can understand the depth of this loss. Christine Howser lost both of her twin boys, Steven and Timothy, shortly after birth. I also lost my son a few days after his birth and I saw myself and my situation in every chapter of this book. Ms. Howser experienced the same emotions and doubts and anger that I had, only I couldn't find the words to express my feelings. Ms. Howser has captured the essence of this loss and detailed her story here. I found it greatly comforting to know that I am not alone and that healing is possible!

I highly recommend this book to anyone who has experienced a tragic loss or to anyone who has a friend who has lost a child. Ms. Howser is an inspiration and I commend her for sharing her story with the world.

This is a wonderful source for any parent that has suffered the loss of one or more babies. It's a great story about love, loss, grieving, and healing. This book is a wonderful dedication & devotion of love to Chrstine's children. Even though her children aren't physically with her, her book positively shows the love she has for them. She is a very loving and caring mother, and her sons must be very proud of her! Besides being a great mom, Christine is a great friend and supporter of many parents suffering similar losses. Congrats, Christine, on a job well done!

I have just finished reading this wonderful and thought-provoking book. Author and mother Christine Howser is an excellent example of a person who has been faced with one of the most difficult situations imaginable, the death of her twin boys. It is inspiring to read about people like her whose lives have been changed by tragedy, but instead of giving up asked themselves, "Now that this has happened, what can I do about it?" She details her struggle with the loss of her sons and the very understandable depression and anger she felt as a bereaved parent. She then describes how she moved from seeking the help and support she needed for herself to providing support for other newly bereaved parents . It is a tribute to her sons, Timothy and Steven, and to her strength, that she has transformed this tragedy into a way to help others through a similar experience. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who has experienced the loss of a child, and to those who wish to help bereaved parents: family members, clergy, medical professionals, and friends.

This book will be at tremendous help to any parent wondering if their child has any sort of speech problem. The book is organized well, broken down by the various sorts of speech problems, so it's quite easy for a lay person to focus on their concerns without having to wade through lots of irrelevant information. I came to the book with the same question: Does my child have a speech problem and this book helped me find the answer and led me to the help we needed. I strongly recommend this book for any parent with that same question. It will help you find your answer and help you see that you are not alone.

Does My Child Have a Speech Problem is a terrific recource book for parents, as well as teachers. As both, I find myself referring to it often as my children and their language grow and develop. I am using it in the classroom to further assist my abilities in helping to identify and refer students to the Speech and Language Department. I highly recommend this book to all parents and teachers.

Wonderful book! This book is a great resource for all parents, not just those concerned about a potential problem in their childs'speech development. Knowing the guidelines for normal speech and language development have reassured me about my childrens' speech patterns. Question and answer format is easy to read and understand. I would recommend this book to everyone!

The story grabbed me right away...I could not believe what this girl went through! I started to feel some of the same anger and humiliation that she felt. I went back and forth with my emotions...first I felt sorry for her, then mad at her, then sorry for her again. It really gave me an insight as to what happens to people that are dealt a "bad hand" in life. It's a great biography!! I've already passed it along to someone else to read.

After reading this book it really puts things into perspective. The life story of Blaze and how she survived the troublesome world she lived in was truely amazing. The author kept me captivated with every page and chapter.

This is one of the few books that portayes a real persons life that would make a great horror movie. Blazes trials and tribulations are incredible. How a person can go through all of this and end up helping others is a true testament to the human spirit. Author Andy Ercole brings you into Blazes world and helps us understand the viewpont of a person that was born under a black cloud,and rose above it. Truely inspirational!

I have gotten my hands on a pre-release edition of this book and i am very intreaged. I can't wait to see the released edition as i alreay know its more pages then the pre-released copy i have already. I am a psych major still trying to figureout where i want my focus to be. As a certified victim's advocate, I have worked with numerous ritual abuse survivors. There is little information available and even less training on this subject. Drawn swords has given me an understanding of the dynamics of this abuse and insight into the psychological trauma of these victims. This author also has a resource manual for agencies, but Drawn Swords adds a personal touch and a bit of inspiration to a horrific and almost unbelieveable crime.

I couldn't put this book down! This story of the author's childhood horror gives insight to real abuse and control some children face; a truth that many choose not to believe. It is educational and inspirational. Not only does it take the reader through a journey of real life terror and trauma, it also brings the reader hope, encouragement, spiritual enlightenment, and healing, despite the world of darkness.

This book brought tears to my eyes. I was saddened regarding the unhappy early life that Mr. Sagmiller went through, yet I was very happy for his success in his later life.

I have an adult son who is dylexic, and the ongoing pain he has gone thru, and continues to go throuh, has constantly torn at my heart. I have kept in touch with Mr Sagmiller and he has been very helpful and supportive. He seems to be a gem of a human being and I have been very fortunate to have communicated with him. I hope my son, and I, can meet with Mr. Sagmiller some day.

If you know of someone who is dear to your heart who has been thru the pain and the anguish of dyslexia, you might want to consider either giving them this book or getting the tapes of this book for them. The tapes can be purchased on Mr. Sagmiller's website. I highly recommend this book.

As many as 15% of Americans may be dyslexic, yet this learning disability continues isolate and frustrate those who struggle with it. Consequently, Girard Sagmiller shares his personal experiences in DYSLEXIA MY LIFE in an effort to overcome the ignorance and prejudice of friends, family and society. Sagmiller shares not only his history, but also his creative coping skills that allowed him to go on to succeed in life, including earning an MBA in business.

Sagmiller was diagnosed as mentally retarded in elementary school. He describes in heart rendering terms the night a parent-teacher conference changed the lives of his family forever. Although his teaches recommended institutionalization, Sagmiller's mother refused to comply. His mother's tears and his father's rejections still haunt his memory. Later a more accurate diagnoses was made of dyslexia, which affects speech, reading, time perception, and can slow learning ins some subjects.

As a dyslexic myself, I found Sagmiller's account fascinating and I confess to learning a lot about myself while reading his narrative. I had never understood the two types of dyslexia, and how to discern between them. In addition, I couldn't help but chuckle in sympathy while reading his difficulty with standardized tests. I could easily empathize with the blows to the self-esteem as well as the feelings of stupidity and ineptitude. Moreover, with a Master's degree in English, I am also encouraged to find someone else who did reach his dreams despite the challenges meted out by this learning disability. A must read for those with dyslexia as well as parents, educators and others touched by this learning disability. DYSLEXIA MY LIFE comes very highly recommended.

This is the story of a guy with an invisable reading handicap and the struggle he experienced in learning to read and get educated. Along the way he tells about the teachers who helped him and inspired him to find himself as well as thoughs who failed to understand the problems of dyslexics.He tells of the success he experienced in drama and staging shows and plays. It was a very inspired story about a person who made it despite the odds being stacked against him. A book to inspire.

We all have issues, but just because we have issues it doesn't mean that we are hopeless and worthless. This book gave me the courage to acknowledge my issues and to seek God's help in receiving deliverance. Dr. Turner helped me to realize that even with my issues God still loved me and would use me in spite of my issues according to His purpose. Sometimes people use the excuse that they have issues and can't accomplish or achieve certain things, but Dr. Turner says "not so." This book is truly a blessing if you open yourself up and receive the word that God delivers through Dr. Turner.

Dr. Turner has done it again. She, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, has given us insight into the issues that prohibit us from being fruitful productive Christians. I would recommend this book to women (and men) who are seriously interested in revealing and dealing with their issues.

The reading is simple,yet written so profoundly. Diana Saenger works for herself, meets interesting and creative people, sees lots of movies, eats great food, travels, and gets to express herself. What a great job. What a great book! Oh yes, and she also works long hours, is away from home and family a lot, and has to put up with arrogant egomaniacs along the way. The book is peppered with vignettes about some favorite stars. Can't wait to read her next book.

Chatty and informative, "Everyone Wants My Job" offers helpful tips for breaking into the world of entertainment writing. Professional critic Diana Saenger shares her recipe for success in this competitive field by including such important ingredients as how to analyze films and other venues, the do's and don'ts of interviewing celebrities, techniques for marketing written work, and how to handle rejection. The book's resource bibliography and list of professional organizations are added attractions which should prove useful not only for novices, but also for writers already in the business. Quotes from various stars, directors, and writers illustrate important points and make the book a delight to read. For example, Djimon Honsou ("Amistad")tells the author, "Destiny isn't waiting until something happens to you. To have destiny, you have to get up from the seat of your pants and make it happen." Advising wannabe entertainment writers to adopt this statement as a kind of mantra, Saenger emphasizes the time and effort required to reach this goal. But the rewards involved are also covered thoroughly --- including access to free movies, plays, videos,etc. and the excitement of interviewing celebrities. The job of reviewing movies sounds glamorous and exciting. Everyone would like to have such a "job". Diana Saenger has managed to create a guideline to have such a job, but maintains a truthful and informative offering. Her book gives the reader the necessary tools to develope ones own reviewing career, while letting one know that it is not all fun and games and free movies. She reminds the reader that it is necessary to be consistant and open minded.

I personally had never really thought of becoming a movie reviewer, but with the information simply outlined in EVERYONE WANTS MY JOB! The ABC's of Entertainment Writing I feel that I could do such a job. I like Diana Saenger's style and forthright approach to writing. I think this work is well designed and she has much to offer her reading public. I hope to see more by this author.

I began reading this book in preparation for a presentation on childhood sexual abuse for my graduate program. What I found was more than just "information". Ms. Bridger's courage is remarkable! I could not put this book down! As a survivor, I could relate to so many of the issues she presents in the book. It was incredibly helpful.

It took great courage to write about these personal experiences, much less to publish them to help others. Being a survivor, and having worked with many survivors, I don't know that I know anyone else who would have done so. This openness truly does forge a path in the wilderness for others to follow. What a tremendous relief to know I am not the only one. No survivor is. We need to know that. If you cannot relate to the title or the information within the book, I can only say I am glad for you. Because that means you didn't go through that horrific abuse. The title and the words within are not a slap to survivors, they are the truth you believe before recovery. The title actually pays homage to the survival instincts that keep abused children functioning until adulthood where they can get help and healing. They are acutally quite genious. Zandra Bridger has done a wonderful job telling "our" story and giving us credit for surviving against all odds. Thank you!

Please don't change the title - EVER! I am an abuse survivor and I don't know if I would have had the courage to read it had it not been for the title. It is exactly how I have felt for so many years because I thought I should be able to just let the past go. I was amazed at how much of what happened to the author emotionally is so close to my own suffering. I finally feel that I am not weak and crazy to feel this way. The passage from the introduction (about acting) on the back cover made my cry out loud because I have lived it every day for years. There is a song that came out the year I graduated High School - Robert Flack's 'Killing me softly' - that reflects the way I felt in reading this book. It was very painful yet quite wonderful at the same time. To the author - Thank you for your incredible courage! a.

The Edible Tao reads like a funny, sophisticated novel. It traces the author's upwards and outwards mobility as she travels from Middle America to Asia and to Europe. As an open-minded over achiever, she manages to adapt to many different lifestyles with brio, using food as a vector for cross-cultural understanding. Even if all you ever make for dinner is reservations, you will love this book!

"The Edible Tao" by Ruth Paget is a fun, fascinating look at diverse cultures and cuisines. Each chapter feels like a memorable conversation with an old friend. The author shares her experiences and insights with humor and passionate energy, disclosing nuggets of wisdom along the way.

This book is well written, engaging, witty and informative. It was a joy to read, an easy read. It definitely peaked my taste buds and desire to cook something fabulous, wish the author had provided some of her recipes!
