to really experience the truths that He gives to you.

Come Away My Beloved
Wow! Just in time GOD! This arrived at a criticial time when I needed to HEAR FROM GOD and indeed HE SPOKE DIRECTLY TO ME AND EVERY SINGLE SITUATION I WAS FACING! As a MINISTER, I recognized the WORD of God flowing forth in each message - which is the one true CONFIRMING WITNESS that Bobbie Coates was INDEED DWELLING IN THE THRONE ROOM AND LISTENING TO THE ALMIGHTY! I can't say enough about the truth of each message and impact that it has had on my attitude - in spite of every obstacle! Praise God for Leon Coates obedience to publish this work! It's A MUST HAVE!

Come Away My Beloved by Leon Coates
Our Father God is so awesome and so very good to us. This book
is so very unusual. It is quite different from most spiritual
books in that this whole book is the Lord talking to you as an
individual daily (or at any time you desire to read it). You can
find the answer to all problems by listening to the contents and
voice of Father God through the printed pages of this book. All I can say is Glory---Hallelujah!!!!!!

Cut my hair
OMG! This book was amazing. I read about this book a few years ago in some music magazine. Somehow, I remembered the title and decided to look it up on amazon. I found it and ordered it and I am greatful I did. Jamie S. Rich did an excelent in developing the character of Mason. The way he uses the first person and really captures what it is like to be a teenager who feels like he doesn't fit in. He finds a way to really show the ups and downs in a teen's life. I could not put this book down. I would recomend it to anyone. I could not have agreed more with the musical taste in this book. And I was able to see myself through Mason. If you are a teenager or not, this book is definetly one to read!!!

A Voice for my Generation
Cut My Hair by Jaime S. Rich is an incredible book.
I read half of it the day that I got it. I couldn't put it down.
I loved how Mason created his own little niche but still felt that some thing was missing. He left his safety zone to get away from the messy, painful life he led. The day he lost his best friend is the day his world got turned up side down, he became lonely, depressed, refusing to speak to those who cared about him. Nothing could take away his pain except for his love for punk rock music.
Jaime S. Rich knows how to get into the mind of the reader and I really enjoyed reading about someone I could relate to.

Buy it and keep it close.
I sometimes wonder just what led me to this book; whatever it was I am thankful. While I can't speak for everyone, I can say that this book reswonated with me in a way I've never found before. Mason is the voice of the overlooked, the unnoticed. I often feel that way myself.

I've bought several copies of this book; the first lost when it was loaned to a friend, one to replace it, and two to give away -- one as a gift, one to be loaned. I won't lose another copy again.

Every Woman Should Read This Book!
Recently, while I was in the Washington, D.C. area, I stopped by a Christian bookstore. While I was there, it just so happened the author of the book, "Dear Rhonda," was there also and we talked about his book. The other customers in the store spoke so highly of it I figured I would take a chance and sure enough, it was an excellent investment!

Demitri Kornegay himself told me his primary reason for writing the book was out of concern for his daughter should he not be around to tell her things about men from a man's point of view. He's a police officer and that's a dangerous profession to be in so he was just looking out for his child. He said he had met a lot of girls who could use the information so he gave it to them.

I'm so glad I read this book. It tells about love and marriage and death and God and even racism. Although I'm single, I would highly recommend it to my girlfriends with teenaged daughters. Mr. Kornegay told me he has a new book coming out soon and with the amount of excitement this one caused in the Washington, D.C. area, I know it will be great also!

It may be primarily for teens, but I keep it for myself!
I first heard about this book by surfing the net and after coming upon a web-site entitled agoodblackman.com. This man serves up the truth in an open, honest, fashion that is easy to understand. In allowing us, his daughter's "sisters" to look over her shoulder at what her father has written her, he gives us the 4-1-1 too.

Three cheers for Demitri Kornegay!

This book is proof of what a Godly man can do!
I have just finished reading "Dear Rhonda- Twelve Letters to My Daughter and Her Sisters" and I must say it is simply wonderful. How many of us would like to have a book of letters from our very own parents that would provide is with the good old fashioned common sense we used to hear as teens, but not pay that much attention to?

Demitri Kornegay is to be commended. Does he have any single brothers?

read it!
this book was a really well written book. i am just starting to read her books and they are really interesting. i read the isis series and i recomend that to anyone who likes science fiction. i can't wait to read the seqiul to this book!

I haven't read this book before but......
I haven't read this book before but i'm looking forward to reading it. The summary on the back is very incisive and informative. I'm in my first year of high school and i had to choose a book to write an essay on. I chose this book for it's good title and summary! I really hope i enjoy reading this book!

Outstanding
I think this book is the most amazing thing I have ever read. I loved Tomi and felt his struggle with him all through the book. I cried so much when he had to leave Rowan and the others and even more at the end with the changed lines of The Freedom Song. I immediately read the whole thing again. It must have been two years before I found "The Dream Catcher" and I was so happy when Tomi finally got out of the Arc.

This is an amazing book; especially when compared to todays society, it is not that unbelievable ...

Thank-you Monica Hughes.

I'm over 40 and love it!
I loved reading this book. Martha Bolton takes an inside look at the joys and reality of being over 40. I personally love being over 40. I'm thankful I found a friend to laugh with over the mishaps and adventures of this second season of my life. Want to cheer your over-40 friend up? This is the book to place in their hands!

One of the funniest books
I'm just about finished reading DIDN'T MY SKIN USED TO FIT. This is one of the funniest books I've read on the subject of life after 40 to date.

It is easy to see why Martha Bolton is a writer for comedians. Her humor is wonderful and really makes being over 40 sound hilarious. Her writing is right on the mark and makes those of us who fit into this category feel like we're not alone. My favorite chapter is about HMO's and the waffle iron being used for a mammogram!

There are many books written about the subject but I encourage anyone who is looking for a fun read aabout life after 40 to read this book. For me, I couldn't put it down.

Life After 40 has New Meaning Now!! hahaha
What a great outlook on Life. I Love this book and can not quit laughing about it. Giving a copy to my Mother.[dont know why, I already read and told her 1/2 of it already!] I did laugh out loud while waiting on my van tires to be put on. I am sure the YOUNG GUY doing the work on it thought...that OLD lady must be reading a dirty magizine. I am not what you call a "BOOK WORM", this is the 1st book I could NOT put down. May turn into a book worm if all the aurthors books are filled with this much humor!! P.S. Not giving up my copy because as my memory fades, I may need to re-read!! Just kidding!!{I hope}...

Disguised As a Poem: My Years Teaching Poetry at San Quentin
Published in Paperback by Northeastern University Press (September, 2000)
Author: Judith Tannenbaum
Amazon base price: $16.95
Average review score:

If I could give 6 stars, I would...
This book was introduced to me by Judith herself ( I was looking for material for a research paper ) ...Since I am a "starving" student, my mom bought me the book for x-mas, it sat for a few months since I was burnt out on prisons after my major report was done. But two days ago I picked up the book again, and I could no put it down. I have fallen in love with Spoon, Elmo and Judith's words many times over. I am in awe of her writing and her experience. I would hope that someday I could inspire others as she has inspired me. I have written a poem, I will share it with you all in hopes that you will buy this book...

"I feel as though I am reading a novel...

Everyonce in a while I stop and

remind myself the words I have read

are real."

Molly R>

Love is where you find it
Judith takes the reader into a world where few go willingly and fewer still would expect to find love. Her journey in story form reveals a great deal about herself and how the men she taught retained their dignity and self respect by sharing their thoughts of home, life, and love through poetry. I am not a poet and quite frankly find it difficult to understand many peots, but such is not the case with the works Judith brings forth from a handful of men most of us have written off as losers. Judith proves that love is present in everyone's heart, even those in prison.

Sharing poetry and so much more
This book takes readers inside a world most of us have never entered: a maximum security prison. But instead of showing the aspects of this world that we're familiar with from movies and TV, we see something different. By telling her own story -- the story of a poet sharing poetry with a particular group of prisoners -- Tannenbaum allows readers to look at our own assumptions about prison, prisoners and what it is to be human.

This is a very important, and very moving, book.

Examination of My Sole

Eclectic Mix
"Examination of My Sole" is an eclectic mix--everything from meditations on fatherhood to meditations on a banana split, poems that are rollickingly funny to poems that are pointed and poignant, and essentially whatever you can imagine in between. There is something for about everyone and anyone here, unless poetry gives you hives. In fact, even if poetry gives you hives, I'd still get it; it's worth taking the benadryl to be able to read it...
Besides being a fun read, it's also an opportunity to get a degree of insight into a complex, multifaceted, and interesting mind.

Examination of Ridley
I ordered this book expecting some "okay", but not "really excellent", poetry. I must say that "really excellent" is exactly how I would describe Ridley's work. I have read every poem at least one time, and several of them a dozen times over. The work is very beautiful, and I can tell that this man has used every ounce of life in the creation of this book. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking for something that is not just "okay". I give this one a full five stars. Keep up the good work Ridley!

All a Poet Should Be
On a technical level, Ridley is the consummate word-smith, weaving complex and unique rhyme schemes and rhythm patterns, and overlaying them with a visual dimension that punctuates and illustrates the concept or theme at hand. He makes rich use of all the tools at his disposal to orchestrate a truly beautiful reading experience. Ridley's ample vocabulary is expressive, bringing to life a wide range of images, from such gleeful moments as those found in "'Nanner Split" (Banana Split), to the shocking boldness of "Blessed Are the Meek". Even the organization of the volume into sections creates an impact.

While he writes in his opening note, that his "true desire is that at least three or four of these offerings strike a chord with each reader", I found that poem after poem resonated with me. The poems resonate because they are distilled from a lifetime of experiences that have either been embraced with joy, or met with courage. Ridley voices a deep appreciation for life and the simple joys of nature and of living, and offers positive insights into the lessons of life that all of us can relate to. He touches us where we live...each in our own "sole".

Ridley makes the volume an even more personal journey by including some notes about the events that inspired his work, and in so doing opens a window to his life that is both appealing and inspiring. The result is a book that is uplifting and thought-provoking.

In short, Ridley is all that a poet should be, and this book is a true gift.

From A Very Satisfied Reader!
This is a story all young men and women should read...it is truly the story of "the American Dream" come to life...it demonstrates what tenacity and chutzpah can accomplish in the very competetive fashion world.
I'm fortunate enough to own several of Mr. Hankins' designs, and knowing the story behind the clothing is wonderful.
I was very pleased with this book.

An amazing story of success
This book is outstanding! I reccomend this book to anyone who can get their hands on it. It is a true story of hard work, determination, strongness, and much more. This book is written in such a way that you feel as if you know Anthony Mark Hankins personally. I loved it!

Speak for Yourself Kirkus!
In response to Kirkus Reviews, why wouldn't consumers want to know about a designer of such determination and talent? It's like your saying because AMH is young and not yet as common a household name as Calvin Klein that his life and accomplishments don't deserve recognition. His story has given many aspiring designers, myself included the confidence to reach for their dreams.

The Feelings and Imagination of a Barefoot Boy Still Inside My Head! Poems and Short Stories for Boys and Girls, Ages 9 to 12
Published in Paperback by Authors Choice Press (24 April, 2001)
Authors: Richard W. Carlson and Kevin Carlson
Amazon base price: $10.95

A delightful, entertaining collection
Richard Carlson's The Feelings And Imagination Of A Barefoot Boy Still Inside My Head! is a delightful, entertaining, and highly recommended collection of poems and short stories for children ages 9 to 12. The topics of these pieces range from family, falling in love, and imagination, to yelling, bicycles, and kissing. I Loved To Walk On My Bare Feet: When I was a young boy,/I loved life and felt great joy./I untied and my little shoes off I took./At my bare feet I wanted to look./It felt really neat,/Walking on the grass and soil in bare feet./I breathed in the spring air through my little nose,/And in the mud puddles, wiggled my little toes./I would play and daydream./Life was wonderful to me it did seem.

A cool Book
This was a book of poems and short stories. Mr. Carlson writes really good poems, I liked them all. Some of them were about Jeremy Grabowski's Crazy Summer In Stormville. I thought that was neat. Some were about life in Tucson Arizona. That was cool because I've never been there and it was fun to read about a different place. The short stories were all great. I liked all of them too. I think you will really like this book. Both boys and girls will.

Nathaniel

P.S. Kevin Carlson is Richard Carlson's brother. His pictures are terrific! People are really hard to draw, I know, I try to all the time! He does a really great job!

Imaginative! Very highly recommended
Author Richard W. Carlson Jr. Brings echoes of maturity to freshly imaginative short stories and poetry in THE FEELINGS AND IMAGINATION OF BAREFOOT BOY STILL INSIDE MY HEAD. The sparkling ingenuous voice of remembered youth sparkles, recapturing the best of childhood and strongest of memories in a startling original record certain to please young readers. The rhythm and rhyme keep the tempo steadily on high, recreating runaway frogs, black eyes, broccoli and walking barefoot with equal vividness. Accompanied by simple, yet skillfully drawn illustrations (by the author's younger brother), this marvelous lark comes highly recommended.

This book was off the chain!
I first read this book as a teenager in 1988. I enjoyed it then and even more so this time around. The twists and turns in the plot keep you interested and encourage you to read on and on and on until the outcome is revealed. From start to finish, Leonie and Morgan's story will have you enthralled. And the chemistry! SIZZZZZLING! Morgan is foine with a capital F (I just know I'm gonna dream about him tonight).

Looks Can Be Deceiving, So Please Do Not Deceive My Heart
I loved it!! Leonie's and Morgan's story was great. The dashing, debonair Morgan Slade is truly a dream. Leonie's one rash decision one night changed her life forever. Not only did Leonie's life change, but so did Morgan Slade's. Both are haunted by that one night. One night of bridled passion that left an impression and a gift to last a lifetime. From that night Leonie is thrown in a web of deception. She unknowingly marries a man she thinks she spent the night with. Is the man who he appears to be or is there something secret about this man? Leonie soon discovers the answer when drastic changes in her life, her way of living, and her family's fortune are threatened.

"Deceive Not My Heart" is an exciting, romantic read.

I Love the Slade Family and Friends
I loved all the books that intergraded with each other. I love reading about the Slades, The Savages, Adam St. Clair, Brett Dangermond, and Royce Manchester. I was able to read a little about each of them in each others books. It was great. Morgan and Leonie Slade are my favorite.
