STUPID by Daniel BernsteinThis was possibly the worst book I ever read. Itwas confusing and unrealistic... or should I say it was just a really bad book!! Don't buy it! You're crazy if you do. I was stunned at how idiotic this book was!
A little stale but still edibleByte's Dos Programmer's Cookbook is a relatively decent book about dos programming, but of course as the should be clear from the title it is a bit dated. There is a wide range of utilites, applications and such covered within this book that will would be of great use to anyone using a pc but not windows. Most of the programs included on the cd rom can be found on the web but i'd suspect the remaing audience for this book can't get on the web at a very decent speed. I'd recomend this book to anyone running an older PC system with a CD-rom who is interested in doing more with their machine. Not bad book at all but the subject matter is a bit dated.

Textbook not a gardening bookThere is a shortage of books on bulb gardening for Southern gardeners, however this book does little to remedy that shortage. Thad Howard's book reads like a textbook and is not user friendly for the recreational gardener. Basic information such as planting time and depth, soil preference, bloom time, and light needs is missing or scattered in the text. Howard focuses too much on bulb classifications and history and not enough on giving readers advice on how to pick bulbs that will be successful in their garden. Academics and those in the bulb business may enjoy this book, the average gardener will be disatisfied. If Howard wishes to sell more books he should at the least add a legend for each major bulb with basic information the gardener needs.

High ExpectationsThe best feature of the book is the diagrams of each disease process on the cellular level. The care plans are broad and limited. Under each disease there may be a list of four nursing diagnoses followed by a list of seven interventions with no discussion of which intervention relates to which diagnosis. Too broad and general. Not worth the price.

Outdated and JadedThis book is a nice overview of various options available to those having difficulty conceiving. Unfortunately, this field changes quickly, and since it's publication it's very outdated. Techniques she discusses are now rarely used because newer/more effective treatments have been established. Also, her slant against fertility treatments (as she admits in the preface)is obvious throughout the book. Finally, the author's understanding of research appears limited. Specifically, she fails to consider that IVF pregnancies are not at higher risk of miscarriage - maternal age is the risk factor. It just so happens that those who receive IVF treatments are generally older.

An excellent reference book if corrections are made. This book was purchased for a reference library. It covers a broad range of plants that will grow in Florida. There are a number of errors in the book and photos mislabeled, especially in the section on palms. This causes me to doubt the credibility of other information and plant names in the photos. I hope that the publisher will come out with a revised edition because this has the makings of a good referernce book if all the information was accurate.

Consider it a $ donation to RMS...If I tell myself that the $.. that I spent on this book was a donation to the OSS folks to help keep free software alive then I do not feel so bad about buying this book. Otherwise it is most certainly not worth the money. The book is very small and slim, all of the information in it can be had from the internet. The software on the CD can all also be found on the internet and downloaded for free.

OK for beginnersI bought this book with high expectations from the author. I have gone through all his books and found them great and handy. This, however, departs a little from there. Though I would definitely recommend this book for one who is about to explore SQL Server. There are a few errors, as well as some syntax given refers back to the earlier version, I noticed.

little new informationThis is Don Hastings second book about trees.Little new ground is covered in his second book.Hastings offers little to no information on newer cultivars that have been produced since his last book on trees. He also reuses some of the photographs from his first book. His first book is much better and also covers shrubs, roses, and lawns.A more detailed look on specific pests ,plant diseases, and their controls would have benefited the book also.

Don't botherI bought this book because I thought it would contain some information specific to Virginia. In fact, there was only one short chapter devoted to the Commonwealth including USDA zone maps. The rest was a standard discussion of every fruit and vegetable grown in the US. Some of the vegetables discussed aren't even suitable for cultivation in VA!

A so-so attempt.Much of this book is a rehash of what you can get from standard documentation. Some of the author's ideas and suggestions are not very practical. Really just a minor survey of the basic mechanics with little or no insight into the subject at hand
