Millie, what were you thinking??
There's nothing wrong with the book itself, the story is what you'd expect for an average series romance. The reason why I'm giving it only one star is because, on three separate occasions, Ms. Criswell has her very-pregnant female lead drink alcohol. Maybe I'm an uptight prude, but I just couldn't get past the fact that the author included these totally irrelevant events in her story.

If you're looking for a wonderful Millie Criswell book, I highly recommend 'The Trouble With Mary.'

The eternal battle
The moment Pete Taggert rescued expectant mother, Madeline Potter, sparks flew and opinions clashed. Conservative and traditional, Pete believes men were meant to provide and women were meant to make a home for husband and children. A successful advertising executive, Maddy has fought long, hard, and determinedly to advance her career. But in the face of imminent single parenthood and under the legend of the Taggert wedding quilt, Maddy and Pete put their growing love for each other to the test against their conflicting views on a woman's place in marriage.

Millie Criswell has written a well-rounded story around what seems to be an age-old battle between men and women. Though the legend attached to the wedding quilt brings Pete and Maddy together in a sense, Criswell does not completely rely on it as a plot device. Instead, she engages the reader by giving us insight into both Pete and Maddy as well as select, and intriguing, secondary characters who either know or come to understand what motivates Pete and Maddy's views on what the role of wife is comprised of as well as what a woman is capable of doing for her family. By exploring the basic conflict that threatens to tear these two apart, Criswell illustrates how strong an influence love can be as both a means to restrict one's partner or to support them as Pete and Maddy learn when they discover the ultimate value of compromise. Though I felt the characters of Pete and Maddy were spread a little thin overall, this is an engaging, if somewhat unremarkable, story. For some of Criswell's standout work, try "The Trouble With Mary", "The Marrying Man", or "The Wedding Planner".

Learning the art of compromise
First of all, I do not believe THE PREGNANT MS.POTTER, deserves the one-star rating given below. Within the rules of series romance, the book is right on track. However, if one disregards these differences and reads it after Ms. Criswell's THE TROUBLE WITH MARY, then I can see where they might be disappointed. These are two very different books, written to two very different sets of rules.

THE PREGNANT MS.POTTER pits two very independent, strong-willed characters against each other in a story filled with love, over-protectiveness and coming to grips with our pasts and getting on with our lives. This is particularly true with, Pete Taggart, who lost his wife and unborn child in a car accident. Unknown to him at the time, his wife had talked of leaving him because she could no longer handle his 'male chauvanistic' way of running things. Into his life plops Maddie Potter: unmarried, pregnant and very much the independent successful business woman. Pete decrees that a woman's place is firmly in the home, which rubs Maddie totally the wrong way as she does not intend to give up the career she worked so hard to get. Should have been a match made in you-know-where, and it very well could have ended in disaster, if the two of them hadn't kept the lines of communication open, worked through their differences and learned the art of compromise.

My only complaint is that I wished the book had been longer, because I'd have liked more with Maddie, her estranged father and her sister. I felt the length of the book prevented the author from telling us more.

I hope Ms. Criswell intends to followup with books on Pete's two eligible brothers, John and Mark. It would be sinful to let these two get away.

French MS RV

Very disappointing.
It is the number of errors in this book that I find so frustrating! It seems obvious that no one took the time to proofread it. I picked up this book to do some french revision and by the time I got up to lesson 8, was ready to throw it in the trash. Accent marks are used only sporadically (sometimes ecrire, sometimes écrire...) They especially seem to have problems with "la rue Whitehall". In the french text, It appears as "la Whitehall street"!

The pluralization errors have been irritating, too. If this is intended to teach a beginning student proper French, I feel it will do nothing but confuse him/her.

I do NOT recommend this book.

Needs an audio tape
There is an abundance of good material in this book, including
many French language passages. If I could be listening to an
audio tape while reading the words, it would be so much better.
There is not enough pronunciation aid in the book. There could
be twice as much.

I found this so very convenient.
It is extremely convenient for the beginners with a working knowledge of english. The situation taken are of the daily life with ample opportunity to grasp the words and setence structures used in day to day communication. Overall a very useful piece of work put together.

However, i wud much appreciate knowing from where i can obtain the sound recordings for this book as soon as possible.

Save your money
This book was required as supporting material for an OT program. This book is full of mistakes and the diagrams are very hard to follow, misleading, and/or mislabeled. Truly a waste of money, save your money and check it out from the school library and photocopy the darn thing if you have to use it. Useless is an understatement.

Clinical Kinesiology -- Save Your Money!
This text book is an abomination. It is riddled with mistakes, often incomprehensible in its explanations, and fairly useless as a reference book. Its schematics and diagrams are consistently mislabeled and confusing. The salient points of each chapter are either obscured or misguided. Avoid this mess; don't waste your time or your money.

Never again will I use this for a textbook
I made the mistake of selecting this book to teach functional anatomy and kinesiology. There are numerous mistakes and emphasis in the text is on information that is not pertinent for PTAs. The author neglects other information that is essential for PTA students. I ended up trashing the book midway through the semester and creating my own "text". I am just sorry my students paid hard-earnded money for this text that they will never use as a reference.
Reviews from students were summarized as a "D".

Worthless
I was hoping to learn more about my daughter's PDD but only learned that the author, a chiropractor, believes chiropractic care is THE way to treat "it". The book is very poorly written and seems to give facts about PDD, sensory integration and ADD that could have easily been taken from any text on those subjects. I felt let down and cheated when the chiropractic angle was introduced near the end of the book. I wanted to learn more about PDD but it was not to be with this book. Don't waste your money. If you want a truly informative book with great lists (broken down into age groups), read "The Out of Sync Child" by Carol Stock Kranowitz. THIS is the book that gave me great insight to my child's PDD and sensory integration issues. I felt as though the author could see into my house and was talking about my child.

An invaluable source for parents
As the parents of a "special needs" child, sorting through the jargon and understanding the issues around her disability are vital to giving her the best chance in life that we can. This book has been an outstanding source for us. It clearly and effectively communicates the types of conditions we - and she - are facing.

Our child was originally mis-diagnosed with ADHD. Through this book and our own experience, we have learned that many children like ours display symptoms that cannot be clearly classified into neat little boxes. As a result, they require the kind of multi-dimensional therapy that Dr. Fallon advocates.

This is an excellent resource for any parent who wants to know how to help their child and be better informed when dealing with doctors.

GREAT FOR THE UNDIAGNOSED!!
If you are looking to see if your child may have a problem.. this is the book for you! An informative check list highlights the book where parents can determine if their child has a problem worth pursuing. This is a checklist whereby parents won't be mis lead.

I do not see this volume as a vehicle for the authors chiroparctic background but rather a vehicle for the novice who knows little about sensory integration and other issues confronting the child.

I have given this book to countless parents in my practice when I have been unable to get them to understand that there may be a problem with their child. For those of you who see a problem, and can not convince your son, dughter patient etc to seek help, this is the book for you!

The other reveiwers were looking at this as some cure all book...hogwash I say........never did the author state anywhere that her chiropratic could help with anything other than sensory integration for these PDD children.

Go get the book now!!!

This book is dangerous
Do Not let your kids read this book. This book may be helpful if your children attend a private school in one of the most affluent towns but then too, this book probably be worthless. If your child goes to a public school and reads this book be prepared they will either get beat-up or have some social emotional scars from using the advice given. The advice for situations for school is to ignore the problem and it will go away or tell somebody in charge. Ignoring a problem only causes the problem to become more pronounced. When a kid is being bullied, her advice is to tell a parent or teacher which will provide temporary protection. "True, lasting protection comes from believing in yourself, respecting others, and choosing your friends well" Bullying is a way of tormenting your child but after your child follows this advice, the bully will be upset and really want to hurt your child badly. The problems that she addresses may be real but they are the simple ones to fix. One situation was the school uniform includes skirts for girls and some guys are trying to look up them. The real problem would be the school uniform includes skirts and some guys keep putting their hands up them. Mary Mitchell has been away from kids for too long so keep your kids away from her book.

This is a marvelous book for adolescents/
DEAR MS. DEMEANOR is an essential book for any adolescent in today's society. It provides guidelines for acceptable social behavior in pretty much any situation. The book is quite easy and pleasant to read, well written and even enjoyable. It should be required reading for any American kids, ages 10 and up.

Not what it is built up to be, and NOT worth the price.
After reading about this book on the author's home page, I was looking forward to detailed information on diet and natural remedies the author has used in overcoming her MS. I was disappointed. Not only does the book not cover these important issues, but calling it a book is generous to begin with. It is in fact a small pocket-size booklet, which would only be about 40 pages if it were a standard size book. It is certainly NOT worth the money. The contents reflect more of the author's philosophy on life, and attempt to inspire the reader. If you are looking for suggestions on dealing with your MS from a nutritional point of view, try The Swank Diet or a similar work. If you want a feel good book, and don't mind shelling out the money, buy this. Frankly, there are better feel-good books that provide a lot more than this. I can't recommend it.

An great little book!
From MS to Wellness is a perfectly wonderful guide - it's one woman's personal history generously sprinkled with the research behind her conclusions. Conclusions which she openly says are hers alone, and might not be the end all for others. Ms. Iams writes in plain, unpretentious English. Her book had great value to me as it reinforced skills and knowledge that I have, but I've needed a good nudge to keep practicing them while on my own journey with MS and a middle aged slump. Her book absolutly reminded me to strive for the best of life: both emotionally and physically. One gift I received from this little gem is a good look at myself and the conclusion that "I am OK". She reinforced that I OWN my thoughts and have two choices. One, to think negative; or two, to brighten my day with positive thoughts. Very basic. Also, her writings encouraged me to stay the course with "clean" foods, daily exercise, getting outside each day, and the importance of a daily quiet time. It's a great little handbook with perfect common sense and many rich, new thoughts. Well worth the read!

Tiny reused comics
This book is less than seven inches tall and has comics that are in other books.

Great book, but too short.
I recieved this book for my birthday last year. I immediately sat and read it. To my dismay, however, I found it depressingly short. I like dogbert's approach to this topic. He is Mr. Attidude in the world of Scott Adams. All in all, you get what you pay for in this book.

Avoid at all costs!!!!
I am having to use this book for an Accounting Grad class and it is perhaps one of the worst txt books I have ever laid my eyes on! Wordy doesn't begin to describe how bad this book is, did this go through an editor or straight to press? It just goes on and on and on throwing in examples that come later in the chapter, the examples are poor never follwing a simple path, and the questions at the end of each section are as bad as the book. This book reminds me of someone who decides to teach you something off of the top of their head, they didn't bother to make any notes or set a goal for how they wanted to approach the subject. Avoid at all costs!!!

Not happy with this book!
I think this book was too wordy for a text book. I believe this Accounting book should have had more examples and explanations of the examples to be able to work the problems at the end of each chapter. When you are trying to understand what the numbers really mean "which is the name of the book", I think you should go into more detail as to what the numbers really do mean and also how to get those numbers.

Not Bad
I had this book for a graduate level introductory accounting course. It wasn't as bad as the previous reviewer commented. However, at places, it does tend to get wordy. Hence, only 4 stars. Overall, it's good.

THIS AUTHOR IS OBVIOUSLY UNABLE TO LEARN FROM HER MISTAKES
I THINK THAT LIFE AND THE EXPERIENCES THAT A PERSON GOES THROUGH IS WORTH MORE CREDIBILITY THAN ANY COLLEGE DEGREE COULD EVER GIVE. WE ALL HAVE A CLOSET FULL OF SKELETONS, IT IS WHAT WE LEARN FROM THOSE SKELETONS THAT CAN MAKE US BETTER PEOPLE. DR. LAURA MAY BE A BIT ROUGH FOR US AT FIRST. IT CAN SOMETIMES BE VERY DIFFICULT TO REALLY LOOK AT OURSELVES IN THE MIRROR. IT'S EASIER FOR ONE TO PUT SOME ONE DOWN WHEN THAT PERSON IS STRONGER THAN THEY ARE.

should be more inclusive
I think the author should have titled it ten stupid things Dr. Laura tells people.... She has written a book for men too and she is just as demeaning to them as everyone else. She may have life experiences instead of educational expertise but that doesn't change the fact that her advice is tainted with hate and prejudice. I don't think this book is meant to give women advice but to serve as a wake up call. If you want advice, talk to someone you know & who knows you, a local minister, a friend, a counselor. There is no one on radio or tv who can give you competent advice for your problems especially in just a few minutes or seconds. Those people (all of them) are out to make money & acquire fame. If they can use your life crisis & misery to do so, they will. Put your faith & trust in something (someone) more substantial. Solving personal problems isn't easy & people should take the time to work on them, not accept a 30 second cliche or sound bite as a cure all.

A Good Start
Like 2 dozen lawyers at the bottom of the ocean, this book is a good start. It doesn't quite do enough to explore Ms. Schlesinger's deeply-rooted irrationality, her narrow-minded putdowns of everyone who has an opposing viewpoint, or the 43,000,007 things she has in common with Rush Limbaugh. An entire book could be written exploring the inconsistencies between Dr. Laura's stated views and her professed religion - her tacit embrace of Christianity is hardly consistent with her claim to practice Orthodox Judaism - and this is not that book. An entire library could be written exploring Dr. Laura's intentional stupidities, and this is not that library. But it's a good start, and an excellent book to leave out on a coffee table, or on your desk at work if you have the nerve and want to get a conversation going. A keeper.

This is not a manual, this is just a guide
This book did not teaches you anything about the language, is just a guite to move you into the different screens of VFP software. These book is too expensive (I buy one) compared with its content. Anybody can make printscreen of VFP an then publish a book saying it is a MANUAL.
At the end, I payed for nothing.

Este libro es una bosta
Escuchen esto, si ustedes presionan F1 en la ayuda del Fox 5.0.
SORPRESSSSAAAAA. Nos encontramos con los mismos ejempos y explicaciones que el libro... asi que. Si escribe otro libro, señor autor, sea mas original.
