The books contain new information, but are also a rehash of earlier works. For example, the Excel 97 Handbook is an update of "Developing Excel 95 Solutions". The accompanying CD also contains errors (Chapter 6, Developer's Handbook example). The authors do a good job, but the collection seems more a marketing ploy than a necessity for the titles to be together.

A book with good theory but lacking of just one thing, i m a sapi sr engine developer and dont get much info on that any way a very good book for sapi beginners

Like most R&D books, it's overpriced. It does have a lot of good code, however. And the text is very easy to folow.

Namco is the king of the classic games like Pacman who would want to see Ms. Pacman on Nintendo 64 and buy a guide?? She got her 3-D 64 game before Pacman [Mr.] But the truth is that Ms. Pacman Maze Madness is a brand new puzzle/exploration style game. There are 12 areas spread over 4 worlds and many secrets to unlock. You're still going to munch more than 200 pellets per stage but experience is so different. There's a deep plot and the difficulty is only intermediate making the guide pretty useless. Don't sweat it since you can STILL play the classic **Ms.** Pacman. Not that the bow will makes much of a difference, there's a build to this style of game. The exploration may not be deep or engrossing, but besides who wants to use a guide to completely spoil all the secrets??

This wasn't the book I expected it to be. I was ready for a book that would give me a quick answer to all my lawn question, but this isn't it. There is some work you need to do before you read this book. The major thing is find out the pH of your soil then go from there.

It is a lot of if you have A then do 1 and if you have B then do 2 answers. I was really expecting if you have fescue then do A, B & C and you will have a great lawn, but it isn't that easy.

It does make a good reference book after you do some work to find out a lot about your lawn and soil. I will put it on the shelf and when I see something strange I will consult the book but I don't think it is going to get a lot use.

The student edition of MATLAB is identical to the commerical version, except that array size is limited. The limit is large enough that any practical problem can be solved.

The book is terse, and does not cover all the capability and commands that MATLAB has. Love the software, had to get additional documentation.

This book looked really interesting! There were comments for many, many of the verses in Esther which I would have liked to have been able to read.

Except for the index, the book is in Hebrew, a language I do not read.

This is a weird story... A bit hard to get the hang of, but once you are there, you just keep on reading. This is, in fact, a modern reworking of the "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" story. It is set in the London of the 1980's. You can recognize most of the main characters from the original story, but all are women: doctors, artists and lawyers. Men generally play a very small part in this novel - which, for me, is refreshing. (Stevenson's original novel contains hardly any women, except for a fainting maid.) And all the things that happen in the original story does also happen in this book - but in other ways. An intelligent re-write!

I have read 2nd edition of Undocumented DOS. The material covered in the book is undoubtedly excellent. In this edition you have mentioned at many places to refer to the 1st edition for explaination on DOS debugger interface. But the 1st edition is out of print. Please guide me as to how to make avail of the 1st edition and the debugger utility alogn with source code. I am a citizen of India and don't have credit card. Suggest me an alternative to send payment, in case you can arrange to send me the 1st edition. I will appreciate if you kindly help me.

This is the first Dos book i have read and it was ok. Goes a little too far into Windows and doesnt really give alot of Examples and commands that you can use in Dos . But for the beginners like us it serves its purpose good. Any book by Que is A-OK in my library.
