MR

This is one of my favorite Trollopes (and I've read 35 so far)! It is witty, clever and has plot twists worthy of the best suspense writers. This one deals with one of Trollope's favorite topics -- the law -- with the usual romantic crises thrown in, of course. Excellent book and I highly recommend it.

If I were to make a list of some of my favorite books from my childhood, Mr. Silly would no doubt be on it! I'm lucky enough to own a hard cover copy of this (that colored in the back of when I was 3). I have also enjoyed reading this to kids now that I'm older--opportunity for interaction and critical thinking skills--What is "normal"? Not a work wearing a monacle and a bright necktie! What sound does a duck really make? One Sentence Summary: Mr. Silly's backward town is holding its annual competition for the silliest idea of the year. (But how can you really sum up a book in one sentence?) I'm really pleased to see Mr. Men and Little Miss books available on Amazon. They may not be fancy or award winners, but that's not really what makes a book great! Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with ALL of the stories of this series, but I CAN recommend Mr. Bump, Mr. Messy, Mr. Tickle and Little Miss Plump.

Mr. Skinny is a skinny fellow. The problem is that he lives in Fatland. Everything there is fat but himself. How will he fit in, being the thin peg in a fat hole world? Thankfully, with the help of a portly doctor, and a suprise cameo by another of the Mr. Men tribe, there is a solution to Mr. Skinny's problem!

This is a great book for a child at Christmas time. I purchased it for my son in the spring, and after reading it once, I think that this would be a good book to put away until Christmas.

Mr. Snow is a snowman that Santa brings to life with magic. Mr. Snow helps Santa in delivering all of the presents to all of the boys and girls.

This is probably the best Mr. Men book to get at Christmas time, but I wouldn't recommend it in the summer.

For those who like good, clean spy-type fun, this is a SUPERLATIVE work. Part three in the adventures of Richard Hannay (which started with Buchan's well-known "Thirty-nine Steps"), this is a first-rate thriller set on the eve of World War I, with plenty of atmosphere and hair-breadth escapes, plus an excellent dogfight climax in the skies over France. Along with everything else, it has some sound theological reflections (the title being a character from "Pilgrim's Progress") about courage and fortitude. Highly recommended.

Mr. Tall is sad because his legs are too long. He meets his friends Mr. Small, Mr. Tickle, Mr. Nosey, Mr. Greedy who all have problems that they have turned into benefits. All of his friends show Mr. Tall that he doesn't have to be sad because he has long legs.

This book contains 30 pages of brightly colored pictures that will catch the eye of any youngster. It also teaches them a good lesson that you should be happy with how you look.

My son really liked this book. He said that Mr. Tall was funny because his legs were so long.

Precious Blossom's parents still lived in the age of tie-dye shirts, demonstrations, and living out of their wildly colored van. Neither understood business or money for bills. At twenty-one, Precious legally changed her name to Leigh Van Dolph. She had grown up like a gypsy and loved her parents and brother beyond anything else. But the responsibility fell on her shoulders to keep her brother out of trouble, her parents' bills paid (without their knowledge), as well as, her own. Needless to say, Leigh was a work-aholic.

Leigh's boss sent her to the small town of Amoteh, in Washington State. She was to somehow get Mikhail Stepanov to agree to have a Bella Sportswear shop in his resort. If she succeeded, she would receive a huge bonus. After paying her parents' medical bills, that would be a blessing! Armed with her determination and grit, she prepared for battle. However, she never saw Jarek Stepanov (Mikhail's younger brother) coming! He plowed through all her defenses and intended to claim her as his own!

***** For all the fans of Jayne Ann Krentz and Christina Skye, look this way! The only bad thing about this book is having to wait for the author to write another story! Mr. Temptation is an outstanding read! Don't miss it! I can't stress that to everyone enough. READ THIS! Highly recommended! *****

Nice to see the work is appreciating in value...!

This is a light and whimsical look at finding love through self-acceptance. Not your typical textbook type self-help book. Four Steps was silly and fun and right on. Don't have a success story for you yet, but give me time!

You have the money, you have the time to read (although you probably don't take advantage of that time) so why not buy this book.

Mark Strand's Mr and Mrs Baby is one of the best collections of contemporary fiction of our time. Stories like "A Dog's Life" and "True Loves" will challenge the standard conventions which we cling to in our daily life.

Cutting wit, piercing irony and beautiful writing characterize this masterpiece.
