good holiday romance!
from book cover:

a mysterious copycat Santa is making the rounds in a small town in northern Canada. Hotshot L.A. reporter Mike O'Brian, banished to this wilderness on assignment, figures he can nail the story in a week. Or he could, if Claudia Paquett would cooperate. She seem to know more about this pseudo-Santa than she's letting on. In fact, Mike almost has the impression that she doesn't want Santa unbearded. But that makes no sense! Claudia has as much at stake in this story as Mike does. The future of her newspaper depends on it. Still, the idea of moving in with her and her eccentric oversize mutt for the duration of Mike's exile is rather appealing. He could keep an eye on her. And since she's just aobut the best-looking woman he's ever seen, it's actuallly a very pleasant prospect...

Good book for people who think erotica is also literature
A great look at how this extraordinary porn writer influenced his peers, through their own words. The book includes fiction, essays, and true stories that brought me to tears, laughter, and a warm feeling between my legs. A good book for the person who understands that erotica is a literary form

Inspiring for young creatives
The other evening I descended my stairs to find my husband snuggled on the couch with a picture book and my 3 year old son, reading. This is not unusual. What was unusual was that my thirteen year old daughter sat with them listening intently as well. The book, not surprisingly, was Louisa May and Mr. Thoreaus Flute.
It is a well woven story of inspiration and the search for authentic self. The illustrations have a distinctly natural appeal that defers to the passion of Thoreau very well. They absorbed my youngest. The story and the words are engaging and inspiring enough for my eldest, a big fan of Little Women. It is a lovely book to share with your young creatives.

Yipper went to Zekes room
I was bought this book as a child from a supermarket. Up until this point I had never liked Dr Suess books but this one was wonderful.
The book starts by introducing all the mice and showing the rooms they live in - one for every letter of the alphabet. It then goes on to show you some of the activities that the mice get up to including playing guitar, and drinking milk. The pop ups are really well done and very imaginative. Also on some pages you can move where the mice are hiding so it is less predictable for children - the mice are no longer where they thought they were.
It is a really colourful and delightful book that children will love. A really well made pop up book that will fascinate children.

Fascinating Triumph
I am really amazed that this book seems to have gotten little attention. A coworker left a copy at my job and I picked it up out of curiousity. What a find! Hilts writes well and incorporates a wealth of knowledge into the tale of a man who had his memory removed. Far from a tale of amnesia, this is an exploration of the inner workings of the brain, but even more, it is a testament to the power of memory. Indeed, Hilts makes a strong case that memory is in fact the quality that makes us most human. At times moving and disquieting, this slim work fires the imagination and changes perspectives. I hope, if you've read this review, that you will give this book a shot - it deserves a wider audience.

Reece is asked by one his closest friends to check on the man's daughter. Reece agrees. However, once meeting Amber, Reece has a hard time remembering that she is his friends daughter and that he is fourteen years older than her. Amber, on the other hand, has no problem with the age difference and finds herself attracted to Reece. Reece and Amber develop a very deep friendship that turns into a lot more. But, What happens when Ambers father finds out that the friend he sent to check on is little girl has fallen in love with her? What happens when Amber finds out that Reece lied to her? He never told her that he was there to check up on her at her fathers request. This love story is not just about the difference in age, but about the problems that rise from both of their families. It is interesting to read about all the different angles of problems that are involved. True love, however, always wins out in the end. (At least it does in a romance novel)

Unusual and Unpredictable Stories
This book contains three stories; "The Simon Templar Foundation", "The Higher Finance" and "The Art of Alibi". They are typical Saint stories; the Saint fights a life-and-death fight with ungodly evildoers on one hand, and tweaks the nose of poor Inspector Teal on the other hand.

I liked "The Saint and Mr. Teal" that was written shortly before this book, but I like this book much better. All three stories are so unusual and unpredictable. Fewer dull parts, more twists and turns, and the stakes are much higher. The evildoers are so-called respectable men and they are more vicious than ordinary criminals.

If you want to know what happened to Rayt Marius, the Saint's arch-enemy in "The Last Hero" and "Knight Templar", you should read "The Simon Templar Foundation". It's about the strange and deadly legacy of Rayt Marius. "The Higher Finance" is a rather astonishing story; funny opening, uncanny development, and the climax is so sudden and shocking! "The Art of Alibi"; someone takes the Saint's trade-mark in vain. That's not so surprising, but the imposter's plan and how the Saint frustrates it are totally unpredictable.

a book for young and old
This children's book is a beautifully crafted and illustrated book that teaches lessons about honesty, friendship, and loyalty. The story takes place in "The Gap" where a new kid in town destroys the reputation of an old man's traveling business (he sells magic potions, beeswax, balls of string, and wooden spoons). The man redeems his reputation (but never returns to The Gap) when he creates a Moonbow above the town river by pouring his last bottle of Moonbows at the base of a waterfall on his way out of town. The new kid realizes his mistake, and the end of the book notes that Moonbows are real occurences in Cumberland Falls, KY--people from far and wide still come to see them.

Perfect for bedtime!
This book is so great because the airplane story so boring, but because it's about a car, a sailboat, and an airplane, my 3-year-old wants us to read it at bedtime. Because it's so boring, it always puts him to sleep! Seriously, always! You can't beat that!
