Great Collection for infants/toddlers
It's a shame that this collection is out of stock. It was one of the absolute best baby gifts we received in 2000 when our son was born. These were (and still are) his favorite books! By the age of 2 1/2, he could recite most of them word for word. I recommend them to ANYONE!!!!!

Healing the Broken Eagle
Recently I had the good fortune to meet Mr. Springer. We spoke briefly and he sold me one his books. The story the book tells is an amazing one of conviction, both moral conviction and criminal conviction. Springer details his anti-nuclear activities in the early nineties and the event which made him a hot topic in the media, the Reagan/broken eagle incident. He then goes into his unjust trial and the "degredation ceremony" of his incarceration. I found this book to be very inspiring and lucid, a call to the people to reclaim our earth from those that wish to destroy it. His expressions of compassion and forgiveness of the judges, correctional officers, Marshalls, Reagan, Nuclear proponents, and felonous, racist inmates that he encountered really shows how challenging, transforming, and wonderful it can be to walk the talk of peace on the planet. To quote the end of the book:
"There is absolutely no problem addressing humankind that we can't solve if we focus on the real issues. We can't do that from a place of denial. The words are broken. Look at the actions. The problem is not the solution, we have the solutions. This is the message of the Broken Eagle: that which is broken and heals is forever stronger in the broken places. In order to heal, we have to recognize that which is broken and take healing actions. Worship the real eagle, not a crystal one. It is time to unite the international nonviolent spiritual evolution."

Humorous and Entertaining!
The F Files is an entertaining read about shoplifters in action and the floorwalker who catches them. It is great to read about this kind of 'behind the scenes' occupation. Somewhat similar to a dumb criminal TV show but wrapped up in book form. I found it to be well written. Mr Steele's writing style is easy going and fun. The smiles and chuckles you will get from The F Files will make it worth your while.

Great insurance against school violence
If you're looking for a good book to read on a lazy Saturday afternoon, this isn't it. If you're looking for a working document that will make your school safer by empowering teachers and administrators to respond quickly and correctly in the event of a crisis in school, this book is worth its weight in gold.

Ask three teachers or administrators in the same school what they would do in the event of a bomb threat, and you'll likely get three different answers. The First 30 Minutes provides a clear, concise, systematized response to 24 different crisis scenarios from assaults to gas leaks to weapons issues. This ensures that administrators respond quickly, correctly and consistently. These recommendations have been approved by teachers, principals, administrators and law enforcement agencies across the country because they make sense. The flip-chart format makes it fast and easy to use. Also, there's not a scrap of filler. Not a wasted word. It's an action plan that tells you exactly what to do, and in what order.

If you're a teacher, get one for your classroom. If you're a principal, get one for EACH classroom. If you are a superintendent, get one for each classroom in each school building in your district. For the price, it's cheap insurance.

Laugh, I nearly died.
Quite simply one of the funniest books I have ever read. My sides were splitting by the end of the first page and it got funnier from there on in. Fast paced story with lot's of interesting and believable characters. If only all books were this good.

Scathing Assault on Corporate U.S. Health Care
I was only 3 years old when my parents set me down in front of the TV set to see the man I knew as Mister Rogers. It wasn't until I found this literary work that I understood their desire to expose me to Fred Rogers. Between the ages of 3 and 6, I was able to comprehend Mr. Rogers on an asthetic infantile level, but too young to grasp his biting satirical spitfire that raided contemporary America. Like cartoonists Charles Schulz (Peanuts) and Jay Ward (Rocky & Bullwinkle), Mr. Rogers brilliantly utilized societal settings to tell stories that children can enjoy on their level, and grown-ups could enjoy on a satrical level.

"Going to the Doctor" takes us from the one-dimensional neighborhood (the neighborhood we saw on TV, I now understand, was the socio-symbolic setting that expoused Spinozist thought that, in 1960s Guajardian circles, was in its infancy)into the doctor's office. What I find fascinating is that Rogers prophetically portrays a "new century" health care system in the guise of a child visiting the doctor for the first time. The child is us; a society that fears the inevitable breakdown of security as we know it. The chilling detail is shown in the end of the book, when the child goes home believing he is cured, all is well, and the doctor is a nice man who wants to help. The security is the shame we all refuse to see: that the Doctor (the patriarchial supraneural mark of the government) is not Dad, but Big Brother, relieving our spasms, yet relievinng the contents of our wallet at the same time.

I highly recommend this book for children of all ages. Though a child may not see through the apparition behind the story, perhaps he or she will subliminally "get" the message.

An outstanding book. Loved it. A must for baseball fans!
Meyer is a master of the art of telling baseball stories. His use of language is outstanding and his sense of detail, wit, humour have made this one of the most memorable baseball books ever written. This is certainly a classic "sleeper." Rediscover this book if you can.

Great story telling and local history!
If you are a Civil war buff or have ancestors who lived in the Portage County, Ohio area, this series of books are wonderful resources! The neat thing about the author's books is that he includes letters and tid bits from local papers that give you a prespective of the civil war that many books lack. he also includes a great index and you might just find something about your ancestor!
