Fantastic Poetry
For any audience, Mi'ja Never Lend Your Mop and Other Poems presents captivating images and simple beauty which can be widely appreciated. Perfect for a moment of peace amidst a hectic day, any of these poems will leave one with a deeper understanding of the subject matter and how it pertains to the author's message.

TAKE THE PLUNGE
You won't be sorry you picked up this book with the inviting cover of a little girl and an apple. Brigid skillfully, and I say skillfully with the highest of meaning (Milligan was only 18 when she wrote this) blends the innocence of youth with the sensuality of womanhood. The poetry is highly crafted, highly honed, highly striking, and highly intoxicating. What truths emerge from the mouths of babes.

Mop Top
This is a wonderful book about a little boy who tries to avoid getting a haircut and ends up finding difficulties that are much worse. Our English babysitter read MOP TOP to my brothers when we were children over 30 years ago. It is still my brothers' all time favorite childrens book. My children have great memories of MOPTOP. Now I am sending it to my brand new nephew. MOP TOP is a boy children will want to hear about over and over again, and the story will become a treasured childhood memory.

Paul Kirk has been participating in barbecue competitions for 15 years. He has been named World Barbecue Champion seven times. If you are really serious about barbecuing, Paul Kirk's Championship Barbecue Sauces will help you learn about slow-cooking meat over smoke and teach what you need to know to start approaching barbecuing like a pro. Along with teaching about all the ingredients useful in making rubs, marinades, sauces, and salsas to accompany barbecued meat, Kirk's approach gives a sense of what barbecue competitions are all about. (One of Kirk's goals for this book is to help those who are interested join in and compete.) Recipes are bold and bursting with flavor.

Good basic BBQ book.
While I haven't made all the recipes the ones I have turned out great. The writing is clear, the recipes easy to follow and there is lots of encouragement to get out and experiment. A good solid BBQ cook book.

The basis of the book is, start with this recipe and mess around. Don't worry too much about the exact details. Taste it and modify it to your liking. On that note its been a good book for the kids as they like to "try this!" I use the seven second burn method to limit the amount of pepper. (If after seven seconds you are still ok, you can add a bit more.)

Ok, we have been just whipping though the recipes in this book and have yet to have a miss. This is one great BBQ cookbook. The lemon baste and lemon merinade for chicken is outstanding! That's the last time I ever buy a commerical BBQ sauce.

BBQ Master Class
This glorious paperback is a once-in-a-decade event in the world of cookbooks: somone who genuinely understands his subject clearly and succinctly explains it in a way that is easy for anyone to understand, even complete novices.

Several times, the author uses the term "master class". This term is usually reserved when an acknowledged master of the subject decides to transfer his skills and abilities to others via a special class. At first, I thought that the use of this term was a little overblown. How wrong I was.

He goes through these subjects: ingredients, rubs, marinades, mops, sauces, and other (salsa, relish, ketchup). Each subject is expertly covered, and tells you everything you need to know. He explains the principle and structure of each one, and then gives instructions on how to create it for yourself. Recipes are then presented for those who do not wish to do the experiments on their own. My only complaint is the table of contents: more detail would be a great help.

This book is the only one you really need when it comes to barcecue sauces. If you don't already have it, I suggest you get it and throw away the other barbecue books you have.

A great learning tool to enhance your Barbecue
When I purcharsed this book I didn't have great expectations for its contents. However, with the credentials that Paul Kirk has I thought it might be interesting reading. I also expected it to contain 175 recipes with little or no explanation of how or why they work, oh and of course the first three chapters would be on how to start my smoker.

I admit, I was wrong! It starts with the basics and teaches you how to build from there. If you are a mustard lover this is definately a must buy. Every ingredient listed serves a purpose and he tells you why. Paul Kirk may not give you his secret recipe, but he sets you up to make your own. Oh, only the introduction covers the cooking methods so the whole book is dedicated to Barbecue Sauces. My only problem with the book is the pages should be laminated It's already getting stained. I love BBQ and this book.

A Good BBQ Sauce Cookbook
This collection of 128 mops, sops, sauces, and rubs is very good, but not great.

It divides itself into sections of sweet, savory (what I would call tangy), "flamethrower" (although they all can be tamed by simply reducing the chile pepper amounts), championship, and rub/paste recipes. The listing of individual recipes in the table of contents is a particularly nice feature.

The most important part of this book is the 17 championship recipes he teased out of the pros. This must have been a difficult task, since most barbecue aficionados are notoriously secretive. I am most appreciative of this, since these recipes are worth their weight in gold.

Although I question some of the recipes, many are worth trying. The chance is very good that you will find something that you will like and keep with you each summer.

Mr Bar B Que is cookin'
This book is a great resource. Bruce's collection of reciepies will keep you quein' for a long time. All of the receipies will turn out better if you use a Traeger grill.

A terrific book for anyone interested in barbecue
My copy of this book is looking pretty worn, with stains and notes next to more than a dozen recipes. It is the first book I grab when I'm in the mood to fire up the smoker on a sunny weekend morning. The recipes in the book are outstanding, and cover a wide range of tastes and styles. I especially like the organization of the book, with recipes separated into categories including "Sweet Sauces", "Savory Sauces", and "Flamethrower Sauces". The only warning I have is that after you've tried a few of Bjorkman's sauce recipes, you'll never be able to go back to bottled barbecue sauce again.

Ho Ho Ho!!
In this, the 3rd Bailey School Kids series, a new janitor has come in to replace the regular custodian who has just quit after finding the school banister covered in peanut butter. A mysterious, bearded, pipe-smoking gent by the name of Mr. Jolly steps in to take over.

Mr. Jolly bears a striking resemblance to Santa Claus, and he's forever watching the 3rd grade gang and taking notes in a small red notebook. He also keeps turning down the thermostat to meat locker temperatures and shows an amazing ability to clean up the most horrible messes within moments... Magic, perhaps??

This book is much less frightening than the first two books which involved more supernatural creatures and creepy goings-on. For young readers who may get spooked all too easily, but who like a good mystery (IS Mr. Jolly REALLY Santa??), this would be a good choice. Children who are LOOKING for that spooky, creepy sort of plot line (a few steps lower on the scariness scale than the Goosebumps series) may be disappointed with this installment. Still, it is a fast-paced, short book, so it is a good choice for emergent readers.

3 Stars from Mom, 5 Stars from the Reader
It must be the generation gap setting in - I don't much like this series, but my 8 year old has just about eaten up the series. I like books with more of a plot, and a little bit deeper - but everyone needs a good 'escape' read every so often.

On the bright side, these are a short read for kids. There is no violence, although it seems pretty clear that their teacher is a vampire since she comes from Transylvania and talks with an accent.

The other up side is that if we read these together (which we like to do), we can each try out the Transylvanian accent.

If you need books to read by yourself (for those under 10), I'd say go for these. Parents can rest assured that these books are a nice adventure for the kids.

I thought it was cool!
The funny part of the story is when Eddie stuffed toilet paperin his t-shirt because he said look i'm a jiggly santa.

Courntey Harder's Review
I would rate Me, Mop, And The Moondance Kid with 3 out of 5 stars. I liked this book because it had a good theme. It was also interesting, creative, exciting, and always kept me on the edge of my seat. I never wanted to put the book down. There are many other books similar to this book. You need to get this book and read it as soon as you can. If you enjoy reading books that have some mystery in them and are exciting this would be perfect for you. This book is about three kids named Mop, T.J., and The Moondance Kid. They all grew up together as orphans, but just recently T.J. and Moondance were adopted by the Jacksons. The academy that Mop is still at is closing down so if she doesn't get adopted before the Dominican Academy closes down she will have to move. In order to spend more time with Marla, who she wants to be adopted by, she joins the Elks. The Elks is a little league baseball team that T.J., Moondance, and some other kids play on, and guess who the coach is. Marla! Besides that problem they have to worry about beating the Eagles in the play-offs. Will Mop get adopted? Will the Elks beat the Eagles in the play-offs? To find out go and check out Me, Mop, and The Moondance Kid.

Me, Mop and the Moondance Kid
Part Two

The Homerun Adoption

The Beginning was about how Mop, Moondance and TJ got their names. It was also about how they helped Mop get adopted. They tried so many ways, and then they came up with putting Mop on the Elks baseball team so she can impress the coach so she can be adopted. In the middle of the Novel TJ gets in a fight with Rocky the cat, Rocky punches TJ in the face and nose.
Then Miss Sally finally decides to grab a box and trap Rocky in the box so that she doesn't fight with rocky again. After that was taken care of TJ and his team get ready for the game against the Pumas'.
In the end Saturday came and it was time for the game against the Pumas'. It was the last ending when TJ fires a curve ball. Strike 1, 2, 3, you're out said the referee. In the end the victory went to the Elks, and Mop got adopted by the coach.
I think this novel was magnificent book to read and l liked it. The reason I like it was Because It was adventures and it had lot of excitement and I am a person who likes to be active and very athletic.

Should you let blue rabbit nibble on you?
This is a very simple children's book: a few inches square, cardboard pages, and a few lines on each page about a blue rabbit who likes to nibble on things. It is roughly as controversial as vanilla ice cream, and less memorable. However, the book's cover is a yarn replica of the rabbit whose story it is. The toy is safe and fun to play with. This book is not a meaningful classic likely to be enjoyed by the adults telling the story, but is a safe bet for young children.
