This book was written by an English professor who has limited knowledge about disability and who obviously did not do her homework to gain a better understanding. It is difficult to believe that the copyright is 1995. Many of her sources are old and she must have gained her understanding of disability from the early 20th century books she read. She cited sources to the point where her own opinions were obscured by those of others. Even as an analysis of literature, this book is poor. Her writing is not much better than her understanding of the subject she chose. Her writing is very formulaic and reminds me of high school writing samples. This book is definitely a waste of time. You would do better to pick-up a piece of literature with disbled characters and do your own analysis, however uninformed that may be.
