Game, Set, Match!
This book can standalone as a good spy story, as can the others in this trilogy, but the storyline attains excellence when read in series - Berlin Game, Mexico Set, and London Match. The tension ebbs and flows throughout the trilogy, but it isn't until the climax of London Match that we see the full scope. I honestly think this is the best book of the three, but maybe that's just because all the threads finally come together. Highly recommended!

Mole hunting
It's one of those hall-of-mirrors British spy stories in which the puzzle is to figure out who is working for whom, and who is double-crossing whom.
I was rereading my Len Deightons, partly to see how much impact they still have post-cold war, and I picked this one up out of order. After the first few pages I remembered that this was third in the Bernard Samson series, set in the 1970's and 80's, but it has close affinities to the Harry Palmer series of the 60's, especially Funeral in Berlin. (This has a 1985 publication date). If you're completely new to Len Deighton I'd start with those, and of course you should read Berlin Game and Mexico Set before this.
Some people think Deighton deteriorated in the later spy books. They contain fewer wisecracks and less descriptive scene- setting. In compensation there's a lot of subtle humor in the portrayal of the Dilbert-like atmosphere of office politics, and the plots are more sharply focussed and draw naturally to a climax. The earlier books tend to jump from episode to episode with a tidying up of plot in the last chapter.

Great End to the Series
I would have to agree with many of the other reviewers in stating that this is one of the better Bernard Samson books. It is a good follow up and great end to this series. He pulled off a book that has a good deal of suspense through out. There is also a lot of human drama outside of the spy vs. spy game. If you are into espionage books this is a great set to send time with.

Wit and Wisdom. Grizzard at his best!
Ahh...who couldn't like Grizzard? Except if you're a Yankee ;P Wish he was still around to write more. It's the only book of his I read (and won't be the last, I assure you) and I already miss him.

Wit, Wisdom and down home Southern humor
Never get tired of this book. Funny, enlightening and very eye opening at times...

Read it its GREAT
I read this book almost a million times and I always find something different to laugh at. It should become a classic someday in the world of comedy books.

mmm-magnificent !
Loved this cookbook! I not only loved the format, but I loved the fact that it is spiral bound, it makes it so easy to lay the book on the kitchen counter when measuring and mixing. I loved the recipes, especially the one for pumpkin muffins. I loved the little stories and tips that accompanied each recipe. The stories are short enough to be entertaining without feeling like it is a novel and the tips are simple and helpful for the everyday cook. I will look for future cookbooks by this author.

I love these muffins!
Cindy does, too, it's obvious from the enthusiasm in her writing. She also seems to think you can put ANYTHING in a muffin!, and I'm beginning to agree with her! (She must have had a lot of fun creating these recipes!) This book is clearly written, with very precise instructions, and the recipes sound wonderful and seem easy to execute; they're FUN to read! (Do you know those COSTCO bakery chocolate muffins? Cindy's Fudge Muffins are BETTER!) The index is terrific, making it very easy to find the recipe for the muffin you want. Food values are included, which is very helpful. She even has extra tips and ideas for each recipe, and substitutions, also very helpful.

Thanks for the tips !
This is a great little book and a perfect gift ! I especially appreciate the nutritional information and all the little extra tips and hints that Ms. Bentson offers.

I haven't understood anything since 1962
The first book I have ever read in my 55 years that actually made me laugh out loud while reading. This is the funniest book since the Clinton administration or the Gore/Bush election. Truely hilarious!

Grizzard points out where society went wrong.
Grizzard points out what is wrong with American culture today, and where it started. A good book for anyone with a sense of humor, and a must read for any Good Ol' Southern Boy. Being one myself, I agreed with almost everything he had to say, and found myself rolling with laughter at most of it.

His fans had fun too...
I sure do miss Lewis Grizzard. The best Southern humorist of his generation, Grizzard never failed to make me laugh and often cry. I think that many people mistakenly pigeonhole his humor and writing style as "redneck" but Grizzard was no Jeff Foxworthy or Jerry Clower. He could make you laugh, make you mad and make you think with just one finely honed sentence. He was a master at his craft and this collection shows him at his best. Grizzard died a few years of heart failure and the world is a poorer place without him.

Shoots from the Heart
This book, makes you truely proud to be a southerner. And it makes you proud to be a man. Lewis says what's on his mind. You may not always agree. Some may find in funny, and some will find it obnoxious. I agreed with every one of his views and all I have to say is, that it's about time someone said some of this!!! A truley touching and humorous book.

Beautifully Woven Tapestry of Words
Dennis Jones took me (a neophyte to this genre of fiction) on a spell-binding journey to a world I never knew existed and on the way made a fantasy believer out of me! Having read his "Stone and the Maiden", I could hardly wait to embark on this new adventure and what a breathtaking one it was! I loved every page of this richly written and amazing tale. Bravo!

Entertaining pic fantasy
Evil beings broke the Ban that safely locked away the Deep Magic, leading to a vicious war. Though the forces of good won, one malevolent individual Theatana, sister to the ruler of Ascendancy escapes. Her nephew Ilarion, knowing his aunt is a dangerous lunatic, pursues her in an attempt to stop her spreading madness before civil war II further decimates the country.

Though insane, Theatana begins to accumulate allies while her foe struggles to simply survive. However, Ilarion finally catches up with his aunt on an island on the edge of the world where the magically powerful Mask of the Adversary can be found and, if harnessed, should lead to easy victory.

THE MASK AND THE SORCERESS is an entertaining epic fantasy that though part of a series can stand alone (what a unique thought for the genre). Dennis Jones provides enough information from the previous book (see THE STONE AND THE MAIDEN) within the subplots so those in the audience who did not read that novel will understand how events reached the points in this fun to read story line. Genre fans will look forward to the final tale of the "House of the Pandragore" where good vs. evil in confrontation with the stakes being world domination.

A 'relationship' saver!!!
Not sure why but for the past 2-3 years I found myself dealing with some very difficult people. I knew all along that my skills in the area of communicating was lacking. I searched and searched for a book that would give me help, purchased this book and that one and came up short. Then one day I came across this book by Mary Heldmann. Read it through and knew that I had found 'the' book. I'm now on my 4th or 5th reading and still love it. This time I'm doing a study on it. If your having difficulties with people, this is the book for you.

Helps people who are easily hurt by others comments.
This book not only prevents your hurting other people with your words, but it also teaches you how to consider the motivation behind words directed at you from other people. When you learn how and why people use words to manipulate your feelings, you can alter your reaction to protect yourself from hurt.

A phenomenal inspiration to overcoming obstacles and winning
This book should be mandatory reading for anyone tired of the hype and "free lunch" philosophy of most MLM ventures. A judge in this province has ordered several young offenders to read this book and write a book report as "punishment" for their crimes. Art's message that you can overcome obstacles and achieve all of your dreams without compromising your integrity and values impressed me so much that I joined the company!

One of the best books I've ever read
The book starts the way hundreds of motivational books do. I almost gave up - how many times can you read the same phrases and ideas. But reading on I discovered that this one is different: it's just wise and very practical... Archie said few thinhgs you can't find in other books but he said it in such a way that I really believe him. He is just an honest and wise man, in my opinion. What a contrast to Brian Tracy or Anthony Robbins which I used to like.

How to win when all is against you.
This story is a true American story. How a small band of "average, middle-Americans" upset an entire industry, with nothing but a "crusade" - as Art calls it.

This is entrepreneurism at its best! Not only is this a great read, but it is chock-full of "unwritten laws" than can help any would-be-entrepreneur.

Peel your eyeballs out about UFOs
I stumbled upon this one after watching the movie "Fire In The Sky", which's based from Travis Walton's book "The TRAVIS Experience" (I'd Bill Barry's account of Travis' story titled "Ultimate Encounter" published by Corgi books), which narrates his alledged abduction by a UFO; and one of those prominent 'UFOlogist' who've studied the case was the late J. Allen Hynek - who is Jacques Vallee's close associate. In my personal little correspondent with the man himself, he mentions about his theory that UFO's are eventually 'light-entities' which aren't much presented in this third and final installment to his trilogy, but Vallee's journalistic and objective approach in REVELATIONS about so-called UFO cover-ups, crashes, sightings, abductions and the whole phenomenon in general gives light to all of these subjects in this book. If there ever was one book about UFO's that you should read- this might just be the one.

An ironic title indeed!
After a long hiatus (about 23 years), this was the first book I read on the UFO phenomenon. And I don't think I could have picked a better one start with. Here was a researcher who shared my reservations over the fascination with conspiracies and hypnotic regression and who openly doubted the extraterrestrial hypothesis.

This book presents an unsparing view of ufology in the '90's, Bill Cooper, John Lear, Linda Moulton Howe, Bob Lazar, William Moore, and Paul Bennewitz all make appearances. The ruling obsessions of the "ufo community", MJ-12, Philadelphia Experiment, Roswell, Implants, are examined and found to be red herrings on their best days.

I can't imagine the amount of rubbish I avoided by reading this book first. Thanks Dr. Vallee!

Another Excellent Work By A Great Scientist
Valle's finale to the UFO trilogy includes many incidents which have become household words. In the process, he shows how the unwary have frequently been made pawns in the ongoing controversy of UFOs and the holy grail of proof that so many are seeking or denying. As many have come to learn, the UFO controversy is a story that is true one day and false the next. The manipulations that go on inside the controversy are at once blatant and subtle; no "smoking gun" emerges, yet the magic show goes on. Why are so many lies used in refuting and denying this topic?

Written with penetrating insight, and at times wry humor. The insitence of this author that the reader think for himself may irritate some people while delighting others. Interesting and thought-provoking light is shed on the disinformation activities of those who continue to claim that UFOs officially do not exist. This book can be read as a stand alone, or as the conclusion to the observations made in the first two books in the trilogy (Confrontations and Dimensions).

You Have Been Here Before: A Psychologist Looks At Past Lives (MM to TR Promotion)

A different view on past lives
I found "You Have Been Here Before" in a used book shop, while on a weekend trip... Upon returning home I couldn't put the book down! Having read almost the entire thing in one sitting, I must say it was an enjoyable piece of literature. I have read many books on past lives, but this one was different. The author's focus is on how events in our past lives influence our behaviors (even mental health!) in THIS lifetime. It was fascinating to learn of real cases of people being overly affected by traumas in an entirely other lifetime... and thouroughly different from the usual focus of books on reincarnation.

There isn't much exploration of the afterlife, but only of the effects of past events on our present lifetimes. That is what makes this book unique... to view the metaphysical world through its influence of the world of psychology.

Dr. Fiore's writing style is very casual, making the reader feel as if she is TELLING the stories, and logically arranged. She even renders the transcripts of her hypnotic regression sessions easy to follow... that's no small feat, as all to often such material can leave a reader confused. In all, it is not a challenging book, but one that is easily understood, yet thought- provoking.

The cases were obviously well researched, seeing as she personally obtained the material from her patients... and verified it through the effects upon their lives and mental states. Therefore, there is no need to bog down the readers with tireless historical data, as some authors do, since the focus is on verification through the psychological effects on her patient.

Many Fascinating Stories Of Past Life Therapy
Dr. Fiore is a psychologist trained in traditional treatment methods and later in hypnosis. She began to use hypnosis to treat clients and one day she asked a client to go back in time to the origin of his crippling sexual problems. To her surprise, the client jumped back into a life as a seventeenth century priest. The patient and Dr. Fiore explored this lifetime, released the sexual issues and the patient made a startling recovery that traditional therapy had not given him. Dr. Fiore does not try to disprove or prove the theory of reincarnation in this book. She merely tells the fascinating stories of her patients and their recovery using past life therapy.

Awsome Book
This was a wonderful book. If you are unsure of reincarnation and are looking to learn more go with this book. There are real life accounts of Ediths patients in dialog form. Easy to read and get into. This book made me a firm believer. Even if you don't believe in reincarnation is a great book to read to gain insight in to these beliefs.
