This book provided straightforward, invaluable information to our family when faced with our child's seizure disorder. It explains all the medical terms that our neurologist seemed to throw around without explanation (thereby scaring us!). It is optimistic and practical. It spans everything from how to deal with seizures, the pros and cons of different treatment, and how your child can live a full life. Most of all it put us at ease and educated us as to how to proceed with our child's medical treatment. It also helped guide us with what to tell others - the school, babysitters, grandparents. Definitely a must read for parents dealing with a child with seizures!

Hope this book gets reprinted sometime soon. It's a very good general introduction to Object Relations Theory, which covers the narcissist, the borderline personality, and the psychopathic personality. It's a real eye-opener. After you read it you think, "Oh, that's why people act the way they do!"

The first book I read by Dr. Harry Kraus was "Could I Have This Dance?". It was just outstanding, so I had high expectations for this book as well. And I was not disappointed! As a fan of Robin Cook's books from way back, I was thrilled to find this genre under the umbrella of Christian fiction.

This book is difficult to put down - the plot twists and turns and Dr. Kraus' characterization is excellent - you really feel like you know the characters. I especially liked his depiction of Travis, the son of the main female character, Beth. I felt that the book was realistic and wasn't one of these in which everything is perfectly resolved by the end of the book.

There are several of Harry Kraus' earlier books that I am looking forward to reading! If you like Harry Kraus' books, check out Hannah Alexander, a husband/wife writing team (the husband is also a doctor). Those books are wonderful as well!

I found Dr. Person's book at my local bookstop and was immediatly intrigued by not only the breadth of subjects covered but also the empirical data provided in explaining and dissecting sexual disorders and actions. I have used this book as a resource countless times in papers and studies, and even in explaining to others how sexual dysfunctions occur.

This is a very hard book to sit down and read, as it takes a wealth of previous knowledge on the subject and some history behind it. It feels more like a textbook than a compilation of studies.

If I were to recommend one book that encompasses sexual attitudes and behaviors this would be it.

Excellent body of work. This book is so very much needed. It provides a comprehensive view of conversion therapy, in addition to new seminal research on the ethics of conversion therapy (see the Schroeder and Shidlo article).

This book provides excellent insight into the reasons why we do the things that we do. The thing that scared me was that I saw a little bit of myself in each category. But who knows, maybe that means I'm normal. The stories are good and very insightful. Dr. Berecz relates his case histories well, and he provides analysis that can be easily understood. You can find out not only about yourself, but you can start to understand how other people (boss, friend, co-worker) work. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a deeper understanding of themself.

Filled with medical details and insights, yet easy to read with at-a-glance charts and sidebars of facts.

Paul Caldwell's Sleep covers the science of sleep as well as the common disorders which prevent it. Case studies, diagrams and sidebars of information accompany a review of facts.

This excellent book provides very practical guideline to insulin pumping and covers all the aspects of pumping: from the best pump wearing to the complex tinny tuning of insulin regime. Usually such kind of books contains two main parts: the first one explains whom and why need the pump, while the second part retell user guide for a pump. The reviewing book is favorably different by substance. It bases on the modern scientific research published. I am longstanding diabetic and diabetic reader, but I discovered some new facts about the diabetes, its complications, and insulin therapy. My recommendation is: don't delay, - buy and study this book!

The above title is more than a cliche...it is the whole thesis of this book by Dr. Joubert.
The current health crisis in our country was most aptly described in his book:
"We, the patients are in gridlock, caused by the healthcare industry, the hospital industry,the drug companies. We cannot move at all. All of them do not want to change direction because they are all driving on "The Boulevard of Big Bucks."I might add, some of the "drivers" on the "Boulevard" are lawyers amd insurance executives.
Dr. Joubert further states,"...medicine has evolved into a business where wealth and power sometimes supercedes ethics."<> I highly recommend this book by Dr. Joubert, a pharmacologist consultant with drug companies. He tells it like it is and advises patients to take charge of their health by being better informed.He lists many medical resources for patients to use before they consult their doctor.
