This Book has developed with each Edition, and it very well has met its Peak!. It is Must Have for anyone interested in staying sane in this Urban Jungle! I ride fairly regularly and I have not been able to ride a fraction of the trails in this book! Get this Book! And Get out and Ride!

This is an excellent collection of high quality MR images of the brain, each accompanied by a brief clinical history, radiologist's findings, a discussion, and a list of suggested reading. The 100 topics cover a vast area of clinical neurology, from common disorders to the uncommon and the rare. The presentation in the form of a teaching file gives the reader the opportunity to study the cases in an interactive way. As a practicing neurologist, I found going through the pages of this book an enjoyable, and of course, a profitable experience. I have no doubt that all those interested in clinical neurology, from undergraduates and postgraduates to practicing clinicians will find this book an exciting way to learn MR imaging of the brain and sharpen their clinical acumen.

This (and the MRI of the Brain I of the same series) are the best neuro case books I've found. Although more expensive the the Case Review series associated with the Requisites (which is a GREAT neuro-rads book for the resident), I like the format better. Each case in this book is given several photos, so you can see it on multiple sequences (you get more photos than with the other series). This allows you to practice describing what you see (e.g. "a heterogenous signal on T2 in the basal ganglia, with no contrast enhancement on the post-gads"). Then, there is a separate section describing what's on the images, so you can compare with your impression. Then, you can go onto the next section where you discuss the differential, what the most likely dx is, etc. The quality of the paper (and hence the photos) is excellent, and the discussions are thorough. There are a few "tough" cases, and a few "easy" cases, but by and large this very good, high-yield stuff. And, there are articles/references with each case, in case you want to do more reading. I think this is the most painless, high-yield way to review neuro-rads.

When I was diagnosed my doctor threw 4 prescriptions at me for various steriods and other drugs and sent me on my way - wouldn't answer my questions (too busy) So off I went, got the perscriptions filled, had a nurse insert an IV and got busy. Luckily I had ordered this book in anticipation of the diagosis and it arrived as I started treatment. The first chapter is on Treatment for acute eexacerbations and it explained everything! The following chapters are: Treatments that effect long term course of the disease (the interferon drugs used in the US as well as drugs being used in other parts of the world and those under development), Symptomatic treatment of MS (fatigue, bladder issues, cognition, all the basic symptoms), Alternative therapies (some strange things mentioned here but the authors diplomatically describe what they are, id the risks and provide evaluations/conclusions). I really like this book. It helped me when my doctor could not....now I've got a better doctor, one who specializes in MS, but I still use this book to augment my understanding.

I am a Doctor of Chiropractic. I talked to other health care providers and they all agree that Frank Netter is the best reference author. The way he goes about explaining the different condition of the musculoskeltal conditions/ mechanism of injury, and gives you the treatment procall is so easy to read and most important of all so easy to understand. As you know chiropractor deal mostly with musculoskeltal problem. I have had so much sucess after reading Musculosketal System with my patients,and the time of recovery. I think it is an absolute must for every health care provider that is going to be dealing with musculosketal problems. And for student in the health care profession get this book and see how much easier it is to understand then your regular reference book.

Myeloma is a very difficult and deadly sickness with no cure. Many people are misdiagnosed for years. This Handbook expands on what the IMF says in their booklet so extensively that I recommend it highly as an educational even though technical tool. Great job by Oxford Press and my only regret is that there is no simple way to update it more often. So far there were 1995 and 1998 editions, I look forward to the 2001 edition which could mean an overhaul of the themes. A few non focus subjects on the sickness could be eliminated.

This book is devided in basic Concepts and Mechanisms; Vascular Biology and Cellular Physiology; Advances in Functional Imaging and the last chapter is Perfusion, Metabolism, and Cell Membrane Integrity. It gives us a very good review of the basic mechanisms and phisiology, in a very easy way of comprehension. Clinicians will be able to understand. The last two parts, has a up to date review and good examples of images of echos, contrast echos, thallium, technetium, labeled fatty acids and NMR. Anyone who deals with patients or with myocardial viability should read this book.

this book is really as his title. in my country-israel there are many jews that came from diffrent kinds of countries around the world,europe, north- africa, middle east countries, and from arab countries ,and south america as well. many remedies that i know from learning at my nutrition school days, and from the jews from those countries are well explained in this must book for anybody.a lot of countries cultures donated their health wisdom traditions in a wonderful way and explenation.i can guarantee that you will benefit and enjoy this book as well.i wish that all the people in the world will understand the message that is hidding behind this recommandation, in the human relationship sence of the way.
