This is a workbook that helps the medical professional to learn the basics of the child sexual abuse evaluation. Unlike other books, this one is not a didactic reference but offers a stepwise system of learning. Each section builds on the previous section, with the first addressing the protocol, the second dealing with taking a history from the abused child and the third providing an approach to the examination and interpretation of physical findings. The program includes a videotape which helps to demonstrate findings and interpretations. The final section discusses legal issues. All discussions are case based and each section is preceded by specific learner objectives. This program is perfect as a pre-requisite for child abuse fellowships, residency programs, private practitioners and those who are interested in improving their skills in child sexual abuse medical evaluations.

I purchased this review text after already having taken a seminar. I liked it very much. It was simplistic and to the point. I felt the CD/ROM was the most helpful. The mock exams explained why you were getting answers correct or incorrect. There were helpful test taking tips throughout the text as well as in the first few pages. I passed the test with ease and I feel that I owe a lot to this book and CD for helping me prepare for the test taking atmosphere. THIS IS A MUST HAVE!!!!

Should be in every physician's library.

This book should be entitled "Facing Life" because it is not about death but about struggles of everyday people against illness,fear and despair. The inspiration is that the struggle is won with courage, love and faith. Dr Chapman has distilled some real life stories into an inspiring collection. Each short story is engaging and I found I was unable to put it down until completed. The book represents the best in the art of Medicine. I have sent several copies to friends and family and they share these sentiments

The author, with 40 years in the medical professions, reviews his experience in several aspects of the world of medicine. Speaking as a practitioner, a University Professor with an intense interest in the practice of medicine in all parts of the world he compares medical care in America with that available in several major nations in North America, Europe ands Asia. As a member of the Royal Society of Medicine of England and with family members practicing medicine in other parts of the world the author has a unique experience to draw upon for his writings. The "Golden Era" of the America's private practice of medicine is drawing to a close. American's need to know what their future medical care delivery system will look like and what they can expect. This book is a must read for all Americans who will be effected by the changes in progress. It cautions us not to expect our Congressional Representatives to do the job right. WE MUST GET INVOLVED.

I use this book consistantly as a reference. I find the straightforward uncomplicated prose makes this book one of the more readable of the genre. As a graduate student in psychology I find this a ready reference when writing papers. When I am in a professional position I am certain this book will be in my office within easy reach.

This is such a beautifully written book that I feel like a real dunce trying to review it, but here goes.

This book describes a womans life the way women really think, with sex described as snapshots of images, whiffs of smell and remembered small sounds. This way of describing sexual encounter really works well, it also works for describing other things from memory, especially for a character such as this: who drinks too much and may have ADHD. Well, OK, Martha is more complicated than a mere assigning of syndromes and learning disabilities can explain.

She is complicated and interesting; or, she is a shallow, promiscuous woman who comes to terms with her jealousy towards her sister (beautiful without make-up, who could stand this!).

The secondary characters are finely written and believable.

This book is entertaining and sexy, so if you have been reading Bridget Jones and the like, please know you will enjoy this as well. With any luck you will never go back to chick fiction after this read. The book is artfully written, so for God's sake buy this book and expose yourself to some proper literature with poetic descriptions of time, place and human interaction.

Ultimately I want to say "Far" is very smart, so readers don't have to be. LOL

There is no other book at all like FDA-INSIDE AND OUT. If it's essential to your own work to unravel the "mysteries" of FDA , Dr. Parisian's monumental tome is THE place to start.

"Fear No Evil" is pure gold! The 23rd Psalm has been a source of solace to millions over the years...invaluable in its ability to comfort. But I didn't really understand its true meaning, and had no idea of the power behind the words. "Fear No Evil" unlocks enormous power for mental and spiritual healing. It gives us the key to the restoration of serenity, stability and inner strength in the handling the challenges of life.

In addition to revealing the meaning and significance of the 23rd Psalm, Dr. Leichtman details a very powerful meditative exercise in the book. Its ability to renew and heal the mind and emotions is without equal--a veritable lifeline to sanity.
