Doctor Cherry's approach to preventive medicine, through balanced nutrition and exercise makes alot of sense. His Christo-centric approach to caring for one's total health, physical, spiritual, and emotional is certainly refreshing. His research on the nutritional portions of this book is profound, easy to understand, and even easier to follow. This book is well worth the money! And your doctor will love you for it!

After reading other books authored or co-authored by Dr. Baars, (Healing the Unaffirmed - Baars & Terruwe; Born Only Once - Baars; Feeling & Healing Your Emotions - Baars) I enjoyed reading the extraordinary story of his life. The book relates details of how Conrad "Koert" Baars was involved in WWII and then imprisoned at the hands of the Nazis in Buchenwald Concentration Camp for almost two years. It shows how that experience had a powerful effect on the rest of his life and gives the background for his delving into the psychology of healing and affirmation. After discovering the works of Dr. Anna Terruwe and collaborating with her - together they brought to the world the understanding that every person needs affirmation and love. They introduced and promoted the concept of the healing of the *whole* person - mind, body, and spirit. I highly recommend this book and the others written by these authors. They promote the wholeness and well-being of all men and women.

This book is different from most herbal medicine books in that it plainly states what value the herb has in treating illnesses, and if the herb has no value, it is so stated. It is NOT a herbal remedy book, but if a herb will help, the book tells how and what dose to use.

After reading this book, I finally understand what it is that makes us look and feel old. And what I find so exiting about this book, is that it talks about aging as a disease that can be cured! I found it a very interesting book and will recommend it to anyone who has an interest in living longer and healthier.

This is a delightful little book of pearls of wisdom.

Great book. Picks right up where the Lord's Oyster left off. It really is nice to read a book of historical nature that has a sort of recognizability to it. I am from the Eastern Shore of Md and perhaps I am some-what biased in opinion. Read it for yourself though, you'll be suprised to see how much like Huckleberry Finn this is. (but on the bay not the Mississippi.)

I had high expectations for this book - as I would for any book that would damage my wallet by more than 40 dollars - and I must say that all of them were met.
This is the best book on the DC-9/MD-80/B717 series, period! From the background of DC and its legacy of successful (and not so sucessful) airliners to the decision and the development of the DC-9, from the discussion of the differences between the different series of the -9 to the development of the MD-80 series and the failure of the md-90 to the great comeback of MD-95 in the form of Boeing 717, the author presents the information in a well-written format that will be an enjoyable read to both industry professionals and aviation enthusiasts.
If you get excited at seeing the last of those old DC-9s still come to your local airport, you must have this book!

A thoroughly enjoyable book, especially for those familiar with Ocean City, MD and the Delaware beaches. Every summer these beaches swell to the sizes of large cities with visitors looking for sun and relaxation by the Atlantic. "Down the Ocean" takes you back, in picture postcards, to a time when these beaches were just gaining their popularity. Early hotels are shown in their heyday. There are views of the Boardwalks and of people in the sun bathing outfits of the early 1900's. I had so much fun with this book I finished it in one sitting and would highly recommend it to others!

Dr. Ulene's Complete Guide is an extremely useful reference book to have on the shelf. Its information is up-to-date and in-depth - and readable! Its format lends itself both to quick, specific reference and to slow, random browsing. I've found it indispensible in answering particular questions, and I've also enjoyed skimming through the pages whenever I have a spare moment. My knowledge of vitamins, minerals, and herbs has definitely increased since I've had this book, and I recommend it as a great reference source.

This small book can slip easily into purse or pocket. Prayer and advice on what to eat are mixed together in easy-to-read and remember sections. Dr. Cherry names natural remedies and herbs that heal or prevent. He gives the directions for a healthy weight loss and weight maintenance. Many suggestions are familiar ones we have ignored for years and others are surprising. Dr. Cherry reminds us that it is important to keep ourselves healthy in order that we can be good stewards of the message which God is sending to others through us. This is a great book to share with friends or to give as a bit of encouragement, especially to those who are concerned about their health.
