As a psychiatrist and psychotherapist myself I found Roger A. Lewin's book "Creative Collaboration in Psychotherapy" one of the most useful I have read about this topic. It is particularly illuminating of the depth and nature of serious psychopathology such as severe personality and "borderline psychotic" disorders. Dr. Lewin's chapter on Feeling Mocked was one of the most unique and apt depictions of the origins of early interpersonal disturbance that I have read--it clearly and accurately describes a phenomenon that I have seen many times in the office with highly disturbed patients but which I have never been able to understand this completely before. And having had extensive training in many different psychodynamic psychotherapeutic approaches, that speakes to the significance of Dr. Lewin's contribution. This book is well worth reading by anyone who works psychotherapeutically with the emotionally disturbed.

The Neuenschwanders have produced an insightful writing of increasing interest since 9-11. This practical guide not only provides helpful information on how to survive the fallout from various terrorist/disaster-related scenarios, but most importantly on how to be a "light in the world" as a Christian in the 21st Century. Every believer's library should have a copy of this wonderful handbook, especially those involved with ministering to victims of tragedies like 9-11, Oklahoma City and Columbine.

An excellent discussion of ICU/Critical Care Medicine pathophysiology and management approaches for principally the housestaff/junior fellow level. Chapters are pertinent and understandable. Does a good job of avoiding the tendency toward "cookbook" medicine found in several other CCM texts written at this level. End of chapter summaries are excellent. Focus is on developing understanding of key physiologic/pathophysiologic concepts and how they relate to monitoring, management, etc. rather than focusing on procedures and techniques. Should be the text of choice for medicine critical care rotations early in training as it really develops the appropriate foundation.

After attending one of Ms. Mimms courses, I bought this book. It is explicitly detailed and offers the critical care nurse a sound base of knowledge. I have implemented several of the chapters into our competency program and refer to it regularly. Thanks to Barbara, we have a reference guide soley for the purpose of teaching new critical care nurses.

It confirmed my doctor's diagnosis and helped me not be so fearful of the myriad of symtoms I had at the time. I was diagnosed with Chronic Epstein-Barr Syndrome. Since then I have found other books, such as Dr. Isadore Rosenfeld's book "Doctor what Should I Eat" that have helped me take an active role in doing what I call, "Creating an environment that facilitates wellness." since there is no known cure. I went from severly disabled to someone who can now hold down a 40-hours-a-week job. Recovery takes time. Mine took many years. I just received another request from someone to share what has worked for me. This is one of the books that helped me along the way.

This book is a must in the health care practice

I cannot emphasize how wonderful this book is. It is an essential book for pediatric rotations. It contains admitting orders and things that you need to think about for all of the common pediatric complaints and better than that, it's thin and fits easily in a lab coat pocket. I couldn't live without mine (I'm a pediatric resident).

As a medical student, intern and now a resident I have found this test to be the best reference for my daily work. The listings are so comprehensive enough to provide a great general practical day to reference. They are up to date and thus provide a adjunct to bedside treatment especially on those lonely call nights when its just the house staff in the hospital. I often will refer medical students to it as a refereance. I find that the reviews are oriented from a practial point of view as well as being concise enough to give a good, quick but through, overview.
