This is probably the best single text I have ever seen for the practicing physician interested in clinical gastroenterology. The book is practical, clearly written and does not contain a great deal of extraneous material or information of interest only to laboratory scientists. Illustrations and tables are excellent. The text is very up to date. The physiologic descriptions are concise and valuable. All in all a must for any physician who comes in contact with patients who may have digestive diseases.

Dollar for dollar, this book ranks with other paperbacks currently published for health care professionals. Dr. Dufour's writing style is neat and concise, with extra explanation when necessary. As a busy pathology resident, I find the book very helpful in my day to day experience.

The book has been well written, particularly a clear presentation upon essential concepts about CBT. The application to cancer is also well discussed. This book can serve a very good start for any therapist hoping to apply CBT to cancer, and also give some insights about pondering how we can help people in terminal illness. Please don't miss it !

I bought this marvelous book a week ago and find it very informative,too the point,precise and easy to understand.
All the pictures are very clear with proper headings,titles are easy to pick.It is a useful book for exams and one can gain allot from it in little time.
I highly recommend this book to all dermatologists and paeditricians.

One of the most useful books I have encountered to take me beyond entry-level muscular anatomy. The wonderful illustrations are clearly labeled. I use it often in my teaching.

as a Ph.D student in biochemistry, i found this book to be a very usefull and comprehinsive review. also, i found it to be an excelent source for people who prefere reading diagrams and figures over long and boring texts. over all, i recommend it for any one involved in biomedical studies or research. other excelent books from the same puplisher include color atlas of biochemistry and color atlas of physiology.

an excellent book combining the color atlas with a quick reference in tabular format that's including the most of the major and commom systemic diseases as well as others less common with ocular manifistations.... I recommend this book with the other excellent book ( systemic diseases of the eye ) by Jack Kanski

Lewin's thesis is elegantly simple, far-reaching, and possibly inarguable: therapists have enormous potential to heal (and conversely, to destroy) and so must attend to the hard work of compassion, a "passion" which "depends upon being able to keep in mind an image of possible ways of being whole while meeting parts," and "is not about guilt but rather about self-examination and self-animation." Lewin defines it lucidly, variously and fully; his examples are well-chosen, thoughtfully presented, and interesting. He's obviously thought about this for years, and developed an embracing yet flexible stance. A polite rant against "our current infatuation with science and technology" seemed misplaced, though he included it in order to lobby for increased respect for nature. He's also opposed to pharmacological 'fixes' in favor of the obvious - though unaffordable for many - benefits of good long-term psychotherapy. He skewers brief therapies - convinvingly. Essays on evil, and contemporary problems such as homelessness and drugs' misuse are included. A humane and challenging approach; it requires of therapists soul-searching effort and personal transformation.

I've been looking for a new edition, my current one is 1996 and none of the bookstores carry it. As new meds are approved every year, this is definitely a book that is worth getting the new copy. It gives very complete info on drug interactions and side effects!
