The author, who is also a physician, has now become a historian as well. His lucid and methodical recounting of the history of drugs use in general and cocaine in particular, truly opened my eyes. As a physician, he explains why the drug does what it does and why people use it. As a historian, he documents all his statements of fact with an extensive bibliography. He does not sound like he is on a crusade either for or against drugs, but one can't help come to a conclusion about the current state of affairs in the world's "war on drugs." A must-read book for anyone who claims to have an opinion on the issue of drugs in our society.

I coordinate a state-wide Inclusion Grant and we have purchased this book for each of our grant teams for the past 3 years. Every teacher I have talked to has loved this book. The tools can be used for all situations. I would highly recommend this book to anyone working with young children!

Burnside's Bridge was a great book. It showed the importance of burnsides bridge in the war. John Canaan wrote this book using a lot of imagery and detail. Not only did he describe everything well, he had supporting maps and pictures depicting the scene and what was going on during the battles. Another excellent thing about this book is the language, it was written where even young children can read the book for school and understand it.

This book is well written for self-help purpose, and it includes a clear, systematic discussion on various attitudes and essential exercises in mindfulness training. It serves a good introductory work for mindfulness-based intervention.

I am a pharmacist working in an oncology setting. I prepare, dispense and review many chemotherapy orders and have found Dorr's handbook an invaluable tool. This reference brings together not just the usual dosing, side effects and other standard information found in the other references, but, also provides information on 'off-shelf' uses as well. This book is a MUST HAVE for any practitioner in the hematology/oncology field.

Scary book but it didn't scare me into stopping. I only managed to quit when I got hold of a copy of Richard Craze's The Voice of Tobacco - now I don't smoke any more after thirty years of puffing that old devil tobacco. Cool book.

This is one the very few books that starts with the basic general concepts of electophysiology before going into discussion of various arrhythmias.Mechanism of both atrial and ventricular arrhythmias are described very well together with the clinical and electrophysiological findings.This makes the understanding of arrhythmias easier.In the fourth part of the book various form of therapy for each type of arrhythmia is explained.As a whole this is the most comprehensive electrophysiology referrance book for the study of arrhythmias.
