Although it is intended for medical students, this comprehensive book would be useful to a wide variety of readers. I am a psychologist and teach medical residents, and I think this book is a marvelous review of (as its title says) Behavior and Medicine. It's excellent for students because it includes sample Board exam questions, but it's excellent for more advanced professionals because it reviews the basics and provides good ideas for further reading. Phenomenal illustrations also. Often edited books are uneven in their coverage, but this one has overcome that problem. A gem!

This book is a wonderful overview of both common and difficult issues in the clinic setting, and very relevant to outpatient practice. It is easy reading, but full of practical tips and up-to-date references. I would recommend it to every primary care resident as an aid in their training.

I am an attorney doing research in abnormal psychiatry and neurologic bases for the outcomes. This book was essential to my greater understanding. I also met the good Dr.Pincus and he was charming and pleased to discuss the material I found difficult. I highly recomend this as a need to read if the area is of your concern,

The book has a unique two column format. On the left is the main text. On the right are details about the studies supporting the recommendations of the authors. They don't tell you what to do - they give you the available evidence so you and your patient can make the best possible decision for yourselves.
I keep this book in my office at all times - about 90% of the time it has the answers to the questions I need. It is my most use text.

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia by Perinchery Narayan (Editor) is a very thorough, detailed work containing a multitude of articles from a variety of well respected physicians worldwide. Highly recommended.

I have found this booklet to be encouraging and informative. Simple explanations and clear presentation of medical information supported by Biblical insights. Worth the read amongst the many books out there seeking to bring hope to those battling cancer. God does heal - find out some of the natural foods and lifestyle changes that the Bible recommends as part of His plan for us to have healthy lives. Enjoy the encouraging scriptures also presented that speak of the Lord's healing power and compassion for those who love Him.

The Biddle Street Bridge was an outstanding read. I couldn't put it down. It was definatley a feel good book, that brought a smile to my face & a warm feeling to my heart. THIS IS A MUST READ!!

Cohn and Roth really attempted and accomplished something interesting in this excellent overview of the role of basic biochemical forces causing many classes of metabolic and other systemic diseases. The effort is well received because they endeavor to help the biological and medical scientist (or student or professional) stand back from the specific complex mechanisms of one illness or organ and look at more fundamental priciples on display. This sort of effort is rare to find at all, in my experience, in the United States. Our science information tends to come in several distinct published formats, but is most completely described in textbooks. Our texbooks are written in response to the real or perceived "marketplace" and generally teach science "vertically" (top-tp-bottom within defined topic) rather than, .... "horizontally" (across subject areas and folllowing connected scientific principles and broad phenomena). So it is very refreshing to find and possess a book that attempts to integrate basic biochemical events with illnesses, conditions, diseases. I think this sort of book should be brought into science classes much more often (if only as a secondary source). Anyone interested in medical science broadly should consider this book as a reference for a personal medical or science library.
