This is by far an outstanding must have book.Very easy reading and yet very thourough. If you are an Internal Medicine Resident this is defenitely a book you should invest in.It has made my life so much easier.Filled with many useful pearls for everyday life practice.

After reviewing the fine quality of this book, I whole heartedly recommend this to everyone who needs to really learn the fine art of clinical cardiology. The cover sets the tone, it is really a lighthearted approach, full of all the aspects you will need in the world of cardiology. The cartoons are great fun, but more importantly, they are useful! The enclosed CD is an awesome tool, as well. There are pearls everywhere in this book.

This is an incredible book for anybody and everybody in the medical field. It's great, easy reading with loads of very helpful information. It gives incredible instructions on everything from history taking and exam techniques, to interpreting ECG's and x-rays. The interactive CD allows you to put all the information together in case format to try to make diagnoses on patients, and really forces you into 'problem solving' mode. I highly recommend this book to ALL students, and even practitioners who want to brush up on their skills.

Here's a winning fiction--a great story with many nuances.

I found this author did an excellent job at presenting the story in a way that demands your attention while molding the medical aspects of the story in a manner that is palatable to the non-clinical reader. It draws you in with a tempting mix of realism and romance. The characters were rich and interesting; their relationships were beautifully developed.

I was impressed with the author's style in presentation of Huntington's Disease as well as the cultural stigma that surrounds it--a nice blend of the clinical and the emotional. The realistic descriptions of the medical world surrounding the story make this a novel I'll enjoy recommending.

As a retired general surgeon, I felt the author was authentic in the culture of surgical training and it's pitfalls. Very entertaining and suspenseful. Also cleverly done. I liked his recognition of the loss of quiet time and devotions with the stresses and demands of the training program.

This is the first book by Kraus that I have read, and I plan to buy more. I was completely caught up in the story and quite surprised by the ending. A joy to read.

I was lucky enough to get hold of a review copy of this book while going through the investigations and decision-making for my upcoming hysterectomy. This book covers everything I needed to know, without pushing the reader too much in any one direction. It's really good on the details and risks of hysterectomy with the laparoscope,this is information I couldn't find in any other book. As a result I now feel confident about having this procedure. I'll have the book with me as I go through the process, it has a lot of information about what happens in the weeks after hysterectomy and how to get back to better health quicker.Five stars to these sympathetic women ffor producing this sensible guide.

This book covers every aspect of the hysterectomy procedure and thoroughly explains alternatives. I really felt empowered by reading this book and have recommended it to all my female friends, regardless of their age. This is the kind of stuff women really need to know.

This was an extremely helpful book - it contains a lot of information my doctor just simply did not tell me about. The diagrams and language are very easy to understand. All in all, I felt much better equipped to make the decision to have surgery or not.

I recently purchased this book for my dad. The side effects of cancer are so grueling. This book is organized for quick access in the first few pages with all of the recipes categorized by symptom or side effects a person may be having. Also gives great menu ideas. It gives clear advice on what to do to use food as a FUEL for the FIRE to FIGHT the cancer. Very organized, sprial bound, easy to read and the recipes are great. I would recommend this book to ANYONE going through cancer. Also great for the caregiver to know too.

A durable hardcover book with spiral binding completely inside so there is no problem with food getting inside the spirals or the book not lying flat, "Eating Well Through Cancer" is a top level cookbook. When someone goes through chemotherapy many changes take place within their body. For many they become nauseous after treatment, experience lowered white blood cell counts, diarrhea, constipation or other side effects. The recipes in this book are specifically designed to help with these and other problems.

Recipes are organized by symptom (diarrhea, sore mouth, etc.) and by treatment stage (day of treatment, post treatment). Each one that I tried was easy to prepare and absolutely delicious. There is definitely no sacrifice of taste for the sake of nutrition in these recipes.

The author answers questions such as "What should I eat prior to treatment?", or "Is there a certain time of day that is better for eating?" and similar concerns of the cancer patient. The final chapters include changing eating habits to a healthier style post treatment or prior to having problems.

Whether you are undergoing treatment or just want to eat healthier as a preventative measure, this book has it all. With cancer being as prevalent as it is today, even if you don't know someone with cancer sooner or later you will. When they return home after a treatment and you want to help by taking something over for dinner you will be glad you have this book. It belongs on the bookshelf of everyone who loves to cook for others.

This book is a must read for any parent that is worried about the emotional health of our society today. We live in a society of repressed emotions that come out in violent outbursts. This books tells parents how emotions develop in a baby and toddler and what we as parents can do to help our baby develop all of their emotions. It also teaches us how we can help our baby handle and express all emotions so that they don't become bottled up and come out in violent outbursts. Most of the advice in this book goes against conventional parenting advice, but in my view we've been following conventional advice for 50 years and look where it has gotten us. It is time for a new, more sensitive way of parenting that teaches our children that emotions are ok and can be expressed in appropriate ways. I give this book my highest recommendation.

As a single parent of a 2 1/2 year old boy, I have found this book to be the best teacher, guide, and sanity-saver since the day he was born. I was blown away by the enormous amount of information about the area's character, history, and interesting places. The portraits of the people and places are facinating. This is a unique guide which I'm looking forward to soon explore on the ground.

Fabulous color photographs, readable, enjoyable, interactive and fun. Many times I drive through a beautiful backroads town and wonder about it's history, it's people, and it's sights. Now I have a guide that will answer my questions and more.

"God at the Speed of Light" is an expertly referenced and well-researched book (over 50 scientific references cited) that methodically establishes the existence of a designing intelligence in the universe. Dr. Baumann's premise is convincingly detailed and defended by scientific fact.
The intelligence of physical light is featured through the descriptions of experiments in quantum physics. These complex experiments are described in easily understood layman terms. The implications of these experiments reveal why physicists are one of the most spiritual of all groups of scientists.
Likewise, astronomical and cosmological data unveil multiple unmistakable arguments for design in our universe.

The author captures the reader very well, and my excitement compelled me to finish this book within a few days. For a lay person, this book represents a great introduction into the world of spirituality/physics. Indulge yourself for an experience into the realm of photonics and its relation to a higher intelligence in the universe.

I am a therapist and use guided imagery alot. Rossman's book is invaluable to me as a therapist and my clients as well. It is very clear and can be recommended to my clients who are interested. But the healing power of interactive guided imagery surpasses any quided imagery that we can come up with, another words - it is better to help guide someone to their own healing places, images, and symbols. It never ceases to amaze me the self healing mechanisms that we possess - even the most trumatized. This is a suburb book, above all the rest!

As a graduate of the Academy for Guided Imagery in Mill Valley, California, of which Dr. Rossman is a co-founder and director, it really comes as no surprise to me to find this book is written in a way that demonstrates very clearly the results of Dr. Rossman's many years of experience in the field. It displays the sensitivity with clear insight that are the hallmarks of a competent and compassionate imagery practitioner. For anyone seeking to develop their skills as an imagery guide as well as those who face their own life-challenging events and wish to take some charge of their physical and emotional lives, I can heartily recommend this volume.

This revised, updated second edition of a 1987 winner provides the latest research and information on new methods of using guided imagery techniques in healing processes. Guided Imagery for Self-Healing surveys various relaxation methods, and provides solid advice on learning from symptoms, resistance and successes. An excellent guide for any interested in effectively using guided imagery techniques.

I have always loves Blake - in particular the facsimile editions with Blake's watercolor designs bordering the beautiful copper-plate text, but nowhere have I been struck by the power of his writing to the extent that I have by this volume. The layout that Dr. Diamond has chosen adds immeasurably to the force of Blake's words. The imagery in these passages leaps off the page, and the reader is given a compelling sense of the creative visions that must have inspired Blake to write.

This is a wonderful collection of Blake's later poems is specifically edited to enhance their therapeutic power and comprehensibility. This anthology, more than any other I have come across, helps to make these obscure works accessible; and the layout and punctuation has deepened my experience of them.

I love this book. I keep it by my armchair and open it when there's a quiet moment. And when I do, the power of Blake comes to me and helps me throughout my day. Only Blake speaks with such passion and strength, and his poetry is presented here unadulterated by titles, footnotes or page the poetry in landscape format so that Blake's long lines need not be broken.
