It is a wonderful book full of witty rhymes and imaganitive illustrations. My three year old asks me to read it every night.

I know there are many arquements against carbs & protien diets and I guess all our bodies are different in their reaction to both of these. This book demonstrates that ultimate control of eating the right balance and control of carbs at the core of a healthy maintainable diet. It leans towards ultimate vegetarianism although for some the author realises this may not be possible and offers more balanced diets with meat. I guess in a nut shell what the author got across to me is fat contains fat and to much of anything for example protien is bad for you. Carbs in control are healthy in fibre, filling and release just the chemicals you need to improve your metabolic rate for a long substained satisfying way of eating rather then a quick fix diet. But remember a baegal is not a donaught another explained thing in this excellent book.

Well, I loved this book. Of course, my brother wrote it, so I am a tad biased. I really do think it is a great book, though.

I don't really know what to say about it, except that I honestly had trouble putting it down. It was fun for me to read, because I no longer live where it was set and miss home. So it was like a trip home for me.

I love his descriptions. They are not over done but really make you feel like you are there, seeing what the character describing it is seeing. I even found myself relating a lot to how the main character felt.

I most definitely think anyone who bought this book would enjoy it. People who are not from the Prairies of Canada may not relate to some of it, but they might relate to other parts of it.

I believe this is the best weight loss book for several reasons. First it is bible based and I know that God cares how I take care of my body and how healthy I am. Where diet doctors and weight loss programs are there to make money first and if you fail they know you'll come back or try something else. This is a no fail program if you rely on God. It is a book that you can take with you no matter where you are. Short chapters to read and concentrate on. It is a gradual process. I lost 15 pounds on it. I was only 25 pounds overweight but I am only 5 foot tall. Every pound shows on a short person. This book can be done by a group of people or just one, it is very versatile. Oh, my! When Amanda bit into her peanut butter sandwich she knew she might just get a visit from the Tooth Fairy because it was wiggle, wiggle, wiggly. She told William, Lollipop, Sam and anyone who would listen including her music teacher (who told her to sing). She wiggled her tooth when she jumped rope. She wiggled it on the monkey bars. It wasn't coming out.

Mrs. Mary Ann Pig, her teacher told her the Tooth Fairy would soon come to her house, but in the meantime Amanda had to do her reading and math. This Level 2, easy-to-read Amanda and Oliver Pig book is a fun book to read to or with the child who might be anticipating the crisis of losing his or her first tooth. Ann Schweninger's illustrations are charming and delightful. And anyone who's had a chance to meet Amanda will want to visit with her again!

This is a fantastic book. Very few critics have the courage or the eyeball power to do what Kathryn Hume has done--offer a genuinely thorough discussion of the landscape of American fiction since 1960--over 100 books discussed. Anyone who wants to educate her/himself on postwar fiction ought to get a copy of this wonderfully written book. No creepy academic jargon, lots of intelligent comparison. Also, Hume offers a politically progressive review but is never (pinch my nose) politically correct.
