Great book on the Character of GodThis is a great book. The title is a little deceptive but it calls us to get back to a right perspective on God's will and that begins with understanding what God is really like. Thrasher's approach to the character of God reminds me of books by Tozer and J I Packer. If you like that stuff you'll love this. It is very readable and extremely practical in its suggestions. A must read!

An amazing look at how we robbed America of its queerness. This incredible book is a compilation of essays, stories, poems, and biographical accounts of living as a gay, bisexual, transsexual, or hermaphrodite American-Indian (all which have been lumped under the term 'berdache'). This book not only deals with the history of American Indians, and how they embraced the non-heterosexual members of their society as healers, but shows how, with the creation of the New World, the English made American-Indians turn against their own, converting their religion, and, in turn, converting them into a homophobic subculture. Finally, there are wonderful accounts of living in modern society as a gay American-Indian, and the scorn these people receive. This is an eye-opening and disturbing book that really gives us a better understanding of all the things we took from American-Indians.

Great for Diabetics and those who want to lose weight!!I had spent many hours reading and re-reading Nancy Peckenpaugh's little gem of a book, BEFORE I knew I was a diabetic. After learning that I was diabetic, I found myself referring to her book over and over again. It is written in laymen's terms, and is very easy to use and understand. As a result of using her book, I've lost weight, which has been helping to control my diabetes. The book has very useful, easy to understand illustrations, and it soon became very easy to remember her guidelines. I've learned a lot about how to control my diabetes and weight, and how easy it really can be, as well as how important it is. It's NOT a chore to think about what and how much you need to eat, once you've learned her basic guidelines and get to know your carbohydrates, etc. I'd recommend this book to anyone who's concerned with basic nutritional needs, help with diabetes control, and help with weight loss, etc. She's obviously a very dedicated Dietition and Diabetes Educator, and has written this book in response to her clients' needs. It's a handy size that I find easy to keep within reach!! I find it to be a useful reference tool for my needs.

Lee Phillips and Kristy Phillips, married attorneys who specialize in financial planning, were faced with their very own monetary crisis some 15 years ago when Lee was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Now having beaten back both the disease and the possibility of associated fiscal disaster, the couple has written Protecting Your Financial Future to outline the asset protection and estate planning principles they utilized during their ordeal. Packed with personal anecdotes and other real-life examples, it includes tips that readers can employ immediately as well as practical long-term advice on cutting or eliminating estate taxes, protecting your home from lawsuits, and avoiding probate.

Best book on estate planning and asset protectionAs an attorney, I've read many books on estate planning and asset protection. Protecting Your Financial Future is the best treatment of the subject I've seen. It's got powerful info that even financial and legal professionals will learn from, but it's easily understood by the layperson too.
One of the best aspects of the book is its writing style. It was actually enjoyable to read; intermingling strategies with anecdotes that illustrate principles.
Living trusts and other asset protection tools are often used incorrectly. The authors of Protecting Your Financial Future help readers avoid common pitfalls and build wealth with strategies all my clients should use. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has a trust or thinks they will benefit from a trust. This book will give you the answers you need for the best possible plan.

Excellent combination of real-life stories & solid theology. This book will help you understand how to seek God's will for your life, how to accept when God doesn't answer your prayers, how to live by faith, whether God still reveals Himself in dreams, visions & supernatural signs, how to make tough decisions, how to handle suffering and more. Anyone who needs more faith in God and struggles with finding His guidance for life will greatly benefit from this book. You will finish this book with greater assurance that God is in control than ever before. One of Pastor Ray Pritchard's quotes: "When trouble comes, you have only two choices. Either you become a victim or you become a student."

A good read"A Rose Will Grow Anywhere" was a beautiful reminder of my visit to David Redding's church, a rustic cathedral built by Amish barn raisers.

One Man's Quest To Receive More Of GodThe author uses events in the scripture to define Biblical spiritual understanding, then attempts to stir the reader into seeking this understanding. Understanding is always confirmed with a happening, such as a healing.
The goal of this book is to teach the reader about the power of the following scripture: I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts. Psalms 119:99,100.
Although the author does not yet claim to have met the above goal, he reveals many happenings resulting from seeking spiritual understanding.
This deeper relationship is between the Holy Spirit and the individual seeking. This is where most of us lose our benifits because we think man has to be involved in some way as a third party.
I have not read another book with this approach, however the scriptures comfirms this understanding. Man tends to accept what he can see; God releases what man can understand. If man can not understand, then God can not receive glory for the happening. The happening as the author calls it, is the righteous judgment that HAS TO HAPPEN when man understands it. This is the word of God.
