Thank You for the greatest advise!!!
I loved this book! I was very concerned about buying a car. Now I am well informed and prepared to stand my ground. Many of the key points have been mentioned by other auto experts. I do not feel so vulnerable now when I walk into the showroom. This book is must for anyone thinking about a car purchase. I am so glad it has become part of my auto purchasing research library. I now see all the things I did incorrectly last summer when I first glaced at some models. I also laugh about the crap that the saleperson said to me and the stupid questions he asked. I won't be visiting that dealership again. I'll drive by in my pre-owned Grand Am (baby #2 :)) and wave and I will laugh and thank Pique again.

Excellent Book for GUYS and gals!
I was in the market for a new vehicle, and even being a guy, I was not 100% sure of what I was going up against with the car dealers. Ms. Lyle's book is informative, entertaining and a MUST read for anyone who is considering buying or leasing a vehicle. I purchased the book, read it completely a few times, and went to the dealership and saved almost $3000! Buy this book!

A complete eye opener !
When someone reccomended the book to me , I thought it would probably not be of any help considering I've purchsed several cars and thought I pretty much thought I had the idea of the whole thing....But Pique's book opens new ideas that I had never even thought of as being a rip off ...the book is definitley worth buying , considering you will learn soo many new things in a clear , light hearted manner ! A car buyer must!

Offering Leasing rather than selling it.
Having had the pleasure of visiting with Mr. Doering personally while working in a north Chicago dealership, he provided a very down to earth, easy to understand way of looking at the pros and cons of leasing an automobile. The book has been a tool for me ever since. Good Job and I'll look forward to more.

The Buzz on Leasing
Buzz Doering's, "The Buzz on Leasing" is terrific! While many articles on car leasing seem to lean toward the negative, Mr. Doering clearly describes how leasing can be much better than purchasing.

I like the idea of pocketing the difference in payments and investing or utilizing that amount over the term of the lease. I also like having a new car that is in warranty. If you purchase, your warranty would expire in the third year with perhaps 2 more years to go on the financing.

Thanks Mr. Doering for your easy to understand ideas!

BUZZ makes it "easy" to understand modern auto leasing!!
I have had the pleasure of attending a seminar given by BUZZ. I am a car salesman. I learned more about LEASING in 1 hour than all the leasing classes I have taken in the last 4 years. Easy to understand. His book is for the buyer as well the salesperson. My sales have increased as a DIRECT result. My customers have complete understanding AND they are very happy. Many say they will NEVER pay cash or buy a car again!! Leasing is the way to go!! Thank You BUZZ

The Concepts and Methods of Sales, Leases, and Licenses
Published in Paperback by Carolina Academic Press (February, 1999)
Author: Michael L. Rustad

The Concepts and Methods of Sales, Leases, and Licenses
Suffolk University Law School's Thomas F. Lambert Jr. Professor of Law and Director of High Technology Law Program, Michael L. Rustad's The Concepts and Methods of Sales, Leases and Licenses is a clear, concise text that provides useful and easily understandable examples for learning and applying the Uniform Commercial Code's Articles 2, and 2A. The text is laid out in chapter format each dealing with a different aspect of the UCC and is published in softbound text by Carolina Academic Press. The text also contains a section on proposed Article 2B which has evolved into NCCUSL's Uniform Computer Information Transaction Act (UCITA).

The Concepts and Methods of Sales, Leases and Licenses is a tremendous resource for the law student who requires a mastery of sales and leases law, and how the Uniform Commercial Code's Articles 2 and 2A apply to real-world situations. Professor Rustad's treatise tames the "terrible 2s beast" for the most timid through the use of examples, and useful quick-reference charts.

The Concepts and Methods of Sales, Leases and Licenses contains practical problems that apply and analyze the methodology of Articles 2 and 2A with unpretentious, straightforward, succinct model answers. The text contain useful hints segments and indispensable tables for use as quick reference to determine which specific UCC section applies to a given set of facts. The treatise contains an informative discussion on the Federal Counterpart to Article 2, the Magnuson-Moss Warranty-Federal Trade Commission Improvement Act and provides information on other relevant bodies of sales law. There is a clear summary of the Vienna Convention or the Convention for the International Sale of Goods which applies to many international sales of goods between merchants.

Professor Rustad's draws upon his boyhood on a Minnesota farm to illustrate concepts of sales law. Those raised in a large metropolitan city learn all about agricultural commodities and the travails of farm life. His examples include such oddities as Alvin, the "Beefalow" and examples of sales nightmares to educate the law student to protect his against clients against, such as the defective watermelon seeds that required the farmer to destroy his harvest equipment and entire crop where his only remedy was the cost or replacement of the seeds. The text provides insightful examples on offer, tender, acceptance and rejection of goods and latent damages such as when a wool manufacturer shipped defective wool that did not manifest its defect until woven into sweaters, sold to consumers, and subsequently washed by the consumer. The text walks the student through the methodology of the UCC clearly demonstrating which specific sections of the code to apply and how to apply them in a real-world setting as a lawyer.

The text discusses how to apply common law causes of action through Article 1 of the UCC and provides useful tests to determine if a transaction is actually a sale or a lease. The text also describes the predominant purpose and gravamen tests for hybrid transactions such as computers loaded with software to determine which body of law applies.

Overall, the book is an exceptional resource of information containing practical and useful material for preparing for an exam or the multistate bar. The Concepts and Methods of Sales, Leases and Licenses is highly recommended for the law student and law library. The book is also a useful reference for associates or business persons interested in a good overview of sales, leases and licenses.

Clear, practical analysis of Articles 2, 2A, and proposed 2B
Michael Rustad's book on the Concepts and Methods of Sales, Leases and Licenses clearly presents how U.C.C. Articles 2 and 2A work in the real world. It also covers proposed Article 2B. This book is a superior resource for legal professionals and law students because it is organized and concise without being dry. The Helpful Hints are excellent summaries of the issues discussed in the main text. Another strong feature is the Practice Problems, which unlike many other texts, include answers and don't merely pose questions. These Practice Problems are generally based on real legal controversies. The Article 2B section contains an informative overview of the ALI's development of a legal structure intended to cover computer information transactions. Since proposed Article 2B is still being drafted, the book also notes the web site where the most recent draft of Article 2B may be found. Finally, the Appendix contains a review section designed to assist law students in exam preparation. I heartily recommend this book for those interested in this area of the law.

Detailed explanation of Articles 2, 2A and 2B of the UCC
For the interested business person, lawyer, or law student, this book unpacks difficult sales, leases and software licensing law in an easy to read and humorous manner. This is the first book to offer a detailed analysis of proposed Article 2B of the UCC which will apply to cyberspace and online transactions.

Very interesting  book; very easy to read.
As a small real estate investor I found it very helpful in understanding many of the ins and outs of real estate and financing, especially on the scale i would like to grow to.

A first class book on Real Estate Development
The third edition of Construction Funding by Nathan S. Collier et al is a remarkable demonstration of insight and expertise. Collier and colleagues provide an exceptionally lucid description and analysis of the process of real estate development that is accessible to non-experts while being authoritative at the same time. In addition to being an excellent text for students and others interested in careers in real estate development, this book serves as essential background for all those whose responsibilities include any part of the development process.

The landlord's bible
I was very satisfied with this book. It was so comprehensive and easy to read -- even for a non-business-oriented, non-real estate-trained person like me. There are examples, thorough explanations, form examples, and perforated, blank forms.

I think this book is must-have for every landlord or recommended for those thinking of becoming a property mgr. or landlord.

A quick do-it-yourself handbook for renting
Leases & Rental Agreements provides owners of real estate with a quick do-it-yourself handbook for renting out a property, including tear-out legal forms and tips on preparing different types of rental or lease agreements. From making disclosures on hazards to complying with laws covering security deposits and privacy, this provides all the details necessary.

One stop information full
When I started to work for The Alta Group I needed to get more knowledge about leasing in Latin America, so I tried via google and others to compile as much as possible, but there was not so much on the internet as expected. Therefore I asked my boss for what would make a good source, and he recommended this book. Due the price, I decided to give it more time to my investigations. However after a couple of weeks I decided to buy it. This was the BEST investment I have done! Not only I could learn a lot from this book, but I also have use it already 3 times since then for work for our clients. I really recommend it, it was my one stop all in one information!

LEGAL ASPECTS OF EQUIPMENT LEASING IN LATIN AMERICA
This book provides the best information ever gathered to facilitate equipment sales financing to Latin America.

A well crafted, superbly presented instructional guide
Negotiating Commercial Real Estate Leases is a well crafted, superbly presented instructional guide for the business owner and a "must read" before signing a lease. Readers will learn the obvious and not-so-obvious differences between so-called "standard" landlord and tenant leases; the critical economic and legal issues implicated in lease clauses; which points are most easily negotiated under what situations and which points aren't worth the time spent negotiating; what alternative clauses and solutions can be offered to create a leasing deal that works for both the business tenant and the building landlord. Negotiating Commercial Real Estate Leases will save the prospect business tenant a great deal of time, money, aggravation, and future real estate leasing-related disappointments.

Negotiating Commercial Real Estate Leases
Absolutely the best real estate book I have read. This is not a get rich quick scam. It disects commercial real estate transactions using a sequence similar to that of an actual sales contract. He points, step by step, to each part of the negotiation process from both the buyers and sellers point of view. Then he explores negotiating options that lead to mutually beneficial result. I have read and studied this book. It is absolutley invaluable to me, and I am not even in the commercial end of the business. I would think that any broker, realtor or principal who negotiates complex real estate transactions would benefit from this book. Why doesn't he write more? It's a shame.

The Auto Lease Savings Guide: Don't Sign That Lease...How to avoid expensive mistakes when leasing a vehicle!

Get a good understanding of auto leasing in an hour
They say knowledge is power and this audio tape gives you alot of power to save money in monthly lease paymnents for an automobile. Most of us need transportation, and it's expensive. So figuring out how to get that transportation in the most economical way is knowledge worth having.

I knew almost nothing about how auto leases worked. But after listening to Jim Garland's audio tape, I got a good working knowledge, which gave me more confidence when I negotiated my first lease. And it saved me money.

You need whatever weapon you can get when you make your next car deal. The car dealers do this kind of negotiating everyday and have all the inside information. I think the information on this audio tape is both easy to understand and valuable.

Every Landlord's Legal Guide (Book & CD-ROM)
Published in Paperback by Nolo Press (September, 2000)
Authors: Marcia Stewart, Janet Portman, and Ralph E. Warner
Amazon base price: $44.95
Used price: $5.25
Collectible price: $20.00
Anyone who has ever been a landlord knows that the rental business is tightly regulated. As the authors of Every Landlord's Legal Guide point out, "a landlord either knows and follows the law or doesn't stay in business long." This book clearly outlines what the law requires of a landlord and, just as importantly, offers advice on how to be conscientious yet profitable. This useful book is filled with helpful information on finding good tenants, agreements and leases, liability issues, and even terminations and evictions. The advice is extremely thorough. For example, the chapter on the landlord's maintenance duties contains information on who is responsible for minor repairs, ways to avoid problems by instituting a preventive-maintenance program, and even possible tenant responses to landlord negligence. The book is rounded out with a chapter on finding a lawyer and an appendix of state laws that may affect your business. Dozens of sample forms are included both as blank hard copies in the book and as templates on the enclosed disk. This book is extremely user-friendly: Stilted legalese is translated into simple English, handy icons highlight particular points in the text, and sidebars provide in-depth analysis on a variety of issues. The authors maintain that success is based on "choosing tenants carefully, keeping good tenants happy, teaching mediocre tenants how to improve and getting rid of bad tenants by applying policies that are strict, fair and legal." This book will help you do just that. --C.B. Delaney

Indispensable
If you can only purchase one book about rental properties, get this one! It is well-written, well-organized, and worth the price. I purchased this book at a point of peak frustration after making some costly and discouraging rental mistakes. This book has been immensely helpful in turning things around for me; it has saved me time, money, and headaches.

As a beginning landlord, I cannot recommend this book highly enough!!

I couldn't recommend this book ENOUGH!
This book has helped through every step of buying my first investment property. It's like having your own professional standing over your shoulder, reminding you about every detail of every step. The section on insurance alone is completely priceless, pointing out that a landlord needs not just property loss coverage but also personal liability. And not just physical liability, but coverage of potential slander, libel, discrimination, unlawful eviction, invasion of privacy suits... And don't forget loss of rents! It's that kind of detail that maybe someone who's done this before would call 'basic.' But I admit: I am no pro, yet when I called an insurance agent and explained what I wanted coverage for, he said to me, "Um, you've done this before, haven't you?" Thank you, nolo!

A MUST!
This is the best landlord book! You have to get it. The CD ROM contains everything I use to manage my properties and be a good landlord. It makes property management and landlording so rewarding and easy than any person could succeed at it if they follow this book's guidelines.

I own 3 properties so far and this book has made my success possible!

A thinking person's summer book
The book is set in Tuscauny, where an English family is renting a home. Odd things happen, water disappears, and then someone dies. The mother, Molly Partiger, becomes obsesses with getting to the heart of these mysteries, and with meeting her mysterious landlord. It is a particular pleasure to see Mortimer's love of Shakespeare come through in Molly's Falstaff of a father, and the Hamlet-like play-within-a-play which gives Molly the final clue to the murder. Interwoven with the plot is an homage to Piero della Francesca (although it has been written that Mortimer gets everything wrong about Piero's Flagellation). The book ends with typical Mortimer poigniancy. Summer's Lease is light in the way that a Tom Stoppard play is light -- an intelligent guilty pleasure.

Fantastic book!
this book is fantastic. the masterpiece theatre production was awesome too. i would like to buy a copy of the video if anyone has one. this is definitely worth reading - and watching too!

ALMOST LIKE A TRIP TO CHIANTISHIRE!
I read this book because I saw the Masterpiece Theatre production on TV in the early nineties and fell in love with the characters and the story. This is the type of detective mystery novel where one can truly relate to the detective as she is an average person with a highly developed sense of curiosity. While I shared Molly's intense curiosity about her absent landlord and her outrage at the so called "water racket", I would not have gone as far as she did to satisfy that curiosity. Molly is rather reckless (if not stupid) towards the end and doesn't realize the consequences of her actions until too late - and even then chalks it up to coincidence. All in all the book is a quick and delightful read that will have you longing to travel to those Tuscan hills. I wish Masterpiece Theatre would rerun the film or make it available on video. You've got to see the film. The cast was so well chosen and the locations are beautiful, especially the terrace on La Felicita.
