Almost good
This story would have been sooo good if it weren't for the two last issues. The brain washing is what killed it for me. I have seen to many stories where some group of people are trying to create a race of super soldiers. It took away the reality feel to it that the book has half the time. And the Punisher was too caring. He was skocked when he saw a little girl get shot or couldn't believe that angel betrayed him.

I am so glad that Ennis gives a better and more meaner and more colder Punisher.

Worth every penny
It appears that this was the first complete series of The Punisher to be published. It begins with Frank Castle in jail. As you might expect word spreads out quickly about him within the prison walls. As the story develops, Frank is involved in a plot with an army of Punishers, formed basically by brain-washed criminals. In short, the story is worth every penny.

one of the best comic miniseries
In the 1980's marvel refused to make a miniseries on the punisher (who first appeared in amazing spiderman) because he was too violent and often killed the bad guys. When artist mike zeck threatened to leave marvel however marvel decided to allow the miniseries to be made. In the first 3 hours the first comic was in newstands, it completely sold out. It was an instant hit. Marvel suddenly decided to embrase the punisher as a character. soon the punisher gets his own long term series called "the punisher" the "punisher war journal" and countless others as well as a movie called the punisher. This miniseries was in my opinion the most influential comic that came from the 80's. This graphic novel is very well written and clever. If you give it a chance you'd like it

Get this for your child or for yourself
My daughter just got this book for Christmas. Everyone, including the adults in the family, love it. It puts Spanish words in their context. There is even a glossary in the back that tells you how to pronounce the words. This is a fun way to learn a new language and be able to practice it on a daily basis. Living in L.A., we are always on the lookout for Spanish language books. This one stands out because it has great photos and is reader friendly.

The BEST Spanish Book Ever!
This book is awesome! First of all, it is *beautiful*! The art work is amazing - all the illustrations are done in clay, but in a wonderful way I've never seen before. The illustrations are bright, eye catching, and very engaging.

Second, the way the book is done makes it extremely versatile. On your first look through, you can read the names of all the objects pictured. In your subsequent use, you can ask your child to find the objects pictured in the margins in the picture itself. ie: "Donde esta la mariposa?". We use this book not only for learning Spanish, but also for sharpening observation skills [like a "search" book or "I spy" book]. And my child has to know the meaning of the word I'm using [ie: Mariposa] to know what to find in the photo - it makes the whole process extremely interesting to her and she really, really enjoys our Spanish lessons!

I can't recommend this book highly enough!

Great for toddlers learning Spanish
My friend gave us this book and it's our favorite! My son has loved it since he was about 18 months old. The pictures are colorful and there are so many objects to name and count in Spanish. We can spend an hour browsing the pages. It's great for any parent who wants to teach some Spanish to his children. The labels are all in Spanish, just as they should be!

Stuck In Neutral
I thought this book was okay. It was very interesting trying to figure out if Shawn's dad was really going to kill him or not. But I didn't think that it was a book that most teenagers would like to read. I would reccomend this book to anyone who likes adventure and a little mystery

stuck in neutral
I thought this book was a great way to show kids our age how hard it was to live in the situation that he was. I recomend that all students should read this book if look down on other people.

I thought this book is awesome a very entertaining! I kept interested in the events and the plot. A sumary of the book is about a boy, Shawn, with crebral pralsie and he thinks his father is trying to kill him. He trys to figure out if his father really wants to "end his pain". Shawn knows that if his father doea try to kill him his brother and sister will do their best to try and protect him. I would rate this book a 4 out of 5 stars because it catches your attention and keeps you interested.

Too much theory
The book is supposed to be used for basic, intermediate and advanced users, but is not able to reach its objective. Probably this is the reason it iss so big (1289 pages).
Although it comes with a CD, it doesn't use any of the examples that are in it and doesn't propose any exercise, making difficult to understand how MS Project 2000 works.
The result is a lot of theory and no hands on.

Great for my needs
I teach Project and I needed to get more in depth with the software. This book was great for that. I cannot recomend it for absolute beginers who dont "get" software programs quickly. If you are an advanced user, yet never worked with this particular program, you will like it also.

thorough, accurate, clear, comprehensive
That about sums it up. I've used Project some, and have looked at several other books before this one. This book provides the detail and clarity to get the ideas across. One particular example ... effort driven scheduling and fixed units versus fixed duration, etc ... a tricky topic, and this book does it better than any other. Best book I've seen on the subject!

A very good book for Frontpage users!
This is a wonderful Frontpage book that describes in simple language exactly how you design and create interesting web pages. It doesn't pretend to cover everything. So you may need a couple of other books like "Running Microsoft Frontpage 98" and "Stupid Web Tricks" by Jim Buyens, to help fill in the gaps. I'd give it 5 stars.

Add Essential Advertising And Marketing Tools To Any Site!
Today there's a lot of competition for business revenue online. There will be plenty more in the years to come. A number of marketing companies, book publishers, and online business gurus offer loads of helpful advice to people seeking to improve their bottomlines. Often overlooked though is the need to design Websites that will effectively promote the products and services they were intended to.      Mary Jo Fahey, the author of one of my favorite Website design books, Web Publisher's Design Guide for Windows, has written Web Advertising and Marketing by Design to offer her readers information necessary to add essential Website advertising and marketing tools to any site. Advertising and marketing theory along with creative Website design principles are masterfully brought together in this one book!      The author gracefully moves from one topic to the next, fully illustrating how to add the latest features and programming that will attract new business and bring people back again. Online news reporting, press kits, press releases, catalogs, registration forms, advertising, and the use of search engines can add a powerful punch to any business operation. The use of Microsoft's Internet Explorer, FrontPage, Image Composer, Word, and Outlook are covered.      Website design is a crucial part of the overall marketing plan that cannot be ignored. A good Website will attract people, generate a favorable response from them, and bring them back! How does your Website measure up? The author's own mastery of HTML programming, her eye for creative layout design, and the desire to teach others makes this book a gold mine of great marketing design ideas! Highly recommended!

Nothing else out there like it!
An absolutely terrific combination of Microsoft FrontPage and its Image Composer software module. When evaluating textbooks for my Creating Web Pages class, I could not find one book that combines these two software products in an easy step-by-step, hands-on format under one cover.

Very outdated
This book is good if you still need to know HTML to create websites. However, if you are using a program such as GoLive or similar, where you don't need to know HTML, this book is ancient. It is interesting to read though, about how sites used to be created. It's from 1997, so it isn't that old, but most of the info inside is irrelevant to those who already know what they are doing.

please if this book can guide for how to create web pages
I really interested in the web pages. I have seen very beautiful web pages for garment, books, places, jewelery, etc. I like to create web page for my business if you can guide me about this topic which I can find in the book.

The most useful HTML (and more) guide ever!

This jam-packed HTML and more guide is the most useful HTML guide ever. It comes with a companion CD-ROM that not only has stuff used in the book but also other software thaty can be used for other purposes.

I do not feel that a lot of thought went into this book.
I am currently studying for the certification and feel that this book does one thing well, that is forcing you to buy another review book. The Emergency review section is 10 questions on bug bites. What about emergency fluid and electrolyte, Burn or, 12 lead EKG reviews? The test taking skills section was rudamentary. I really feel cheated for my money.

Thorough, easy to read,
Overall, a very thorough, excellent resource for cert. prep. The answers and rationales section provided me with an opportunity to assimilate and recall needed review information without bogging me down. This review book, along with a review course assisted me to pass my FNP exam.

Excellent review book with up to date information
I have the 1999 edition of this review book. Every topic is fully covered, and the rationales are all a paragraph long with great explanations. The information in the book is up to date and current. There are tons and tons of difficult and challenging questions. Topics covered are growth and development, health promotion, all the body systems, emergencies, research and theory, and lots more. I would suggest this book for any FNP candidate.

midnight accounting help
Sometimes you may be serving on the board of a nonprofit group and discover that your funder requires GAAP. Well what is that. This book will help you understand the nonprofit world of accounting. This work has been a resource that I have turned to at midnight myself aand have recommended many times. At times it is a little technical. But it helps to use some "accounting" language in the next board or committee meeting that you will be discussing budgets or finalcial presentatons.

Also, I have used this as a guideline when I consulted a small group that needed help with internal controls.

This book is very valuable for Not-For-Profit Organizations
I felt this book was basically well written. It at times is a little too technical, but basically is easy to follow. I do find it an invaluable tool for reference information in the not-for-profit industry.

It is helpful to me.
It was lucky to find this book. I'm a college student. I am preparing to take a AICPA exam. The library of my college doesn't have enough books about Not-for-Profit Organization accounting. This book gives me friendly and detailed explanations. well, a shortness of this book is a tedious text, such as one color text, no graphic figures. I just worried about objective judgements, because I didn't study other Not-fot-Profit books. Anyway, this book makes me come to Not-for-Profit accounting more closely. I'd like to recommend this book.

Fun, Fast Read
Newswoman Georgia Barnett is at the top of her game. She's known and well-liked by all in Chicago, loves her job and has a fine Police Officer boyfriend to boot. Sometimes her job can lead her into situations that are scandolous to say the least.

In this episode, Barnett and company cast about for the necessary evidence to determine who killed Fab Weaver, the infamous head honchous of Hit Time Records. Her search leads her down Chicago's Record Row where the R&B hitmakers used to abound. Georgia's Sista-twin Peaches even gets involved in this dangerous mission to find Weaver's killer.

This story is fast paced. Every chapter ended in such a tease that you had to keep reading. I appreciate the "lessons of the newsroom" throughout the book. However, some of the overused metophors were dispensible. It almost made the story seem like a teen read than an adult mystery.

I've enjoyed some of Yolanda Joe's (Ardella Garland is her nom de plume) past works of fiction. This is the first mystery I've read and thought it was fun. I'm interested to see what other situations Georgia Barnett gets herself involved with in the future.

The right place at the right time
Being in the right place at the right time, is what happened to TV reported Georgia Barnett. Covering a human interest story, she is the first reporter on the scene when an anonymous body is found floating in the cold lake.

Always out to be first with the scoop of the day, Georgia begins her own unofficial investigation of this case. When one of the prime suspects is a childhood family friend, Georgia goes into high gear to solve this case with help from her cameraman, her twin sister and friends around and about the neighborhood.

In the like of some of my other favorite female detectives, Georgia methodically elimates suspect after suspect. Having a cop for a boyfriend helps as she tends to stay a step ahead of them, but leans heavily on them for backup when she gets herself in dire situations.

This was an enjoyable read with lots of characters with motives to make this a good mystery.

Complex amateur sleuth
Georgia Barnett is a feisty, brash and well-known television reporter for WJIV news in Chicago. Her latest assignment covering a charity event at Lake Michigan turns into the scoop of a lifetime when one of the witnesses finds a dead body floating in the water. It turns out that the man in the water, a murder victim, was Fab Weaver, a former record producer who was famous in the seventies on Chicago's Record Row.

Georgia becomes personally involved in the case when a family friend, guitarist Jimmy Flamingo, becomes the number one suspect in the murder. Jimmy, like so many other people, had a grudge against the record producer because Fab cheated him out of money. Georgia decides to do some investigating, not realizing that she is putting herself in the line of fire.

HIT TIME is a fascinating amateur sleuth tale starring an in your face heroine who endears herself to the reader with her wit, cleverness and bravado. The first person narrative allows the audience to feel close to Georgia and hope she can solve the case without getting herself killed in the process. Ardella Garland has constructed a complex mystery that takes so many twists and turns that the reader will never see who the real villain is.

Not as good
The book isn't as well written or the pictures as good as the other similar northern Michigan book, "Look About You - a Magical Childhood in Michigan's Wild Places".

good pictures
I agree with everything the person already wrote except they didn't say anything about the beautiful drawings. They make the book shine.

A Lovely Story!
