Microcomputer Accounting for Peachtree Accounting
As a computerized accounting instructor I have found the current edition of this book to be a helpful teaching tool. It allows students to work at their own pace and does not require previous computer or accounting experience. Starting with the basics of installing the provided software each chapter is a step by step lesson for company setup, customer and sales management, purchasing, etc. Numerous examples allow the student to determine if steps have been inputted correctly. Along with the CD that contains an educational version of Peachtree 7.0 five floppy disk containing business simulations are included.

Incorrect information for the ISBN number
The ISBN number (0881071781) is for a book called The History of Lawrence County Kentucky, as told by those who lived it, and others who heard their stories ; [compiled] by Regina Tackett, Patricia Jackson, and Janice Thompson, project coordinators in cooperation with the Lawrence County Public Library.
Printed by Curtis Media Corp ©1991 - not Missoula Valley history

Good book about the history of Lawrence County Kentucky, includes brief family trees of people who submitted information, lots of photographs, and military info as well as local lore and history. Only useful to those interested in Eastern Kentucky history/genealogy.

SHE SPINS A NEAT STORY!
This story brngs Wyatt Colton to Haven, Indiana in 1876 shortly after Emma and Noah are married.

Here he meets Rachel Browning from River's Haven, just down the road from Haven somewhere near the Ohio River. This community is considered strange in Haven and people are suspecious of the residents and their considered immoral practices.

Rachel was allowed to take into her care, little Katherine, also known as Kitty Cat by her friends from the Orphan Train.

Rachel has a fear of child bearing because of her relatives dying in childbirth, so she figures that Kitty Cat will be her only chance to have a child to love.

Kitty Cat forms a friendship with Wyatt and his partner, Horace and takes off most every chance she gets to visit them and her friend, Sean O'Dell. Kitty Cat is approximately six years old.

Rachel must help heal and take care of Colton and Horace when their boat, The Ohio Star, is set on fire - Noah Sawyer and Sean helps to rescue Rachel and Kitty Cat from the river.

Ah, you must follow the action after the Centennial celebration and the resolution of the conflict between Rachel and Wyatt and his no commitment idea [neither one wishes to marry].

My only problem is the liscense the authors take with the morality of the times. Although most women may have been aware of sex, they were very circumspect in their deportment. They may have thought about hoping in bed, but their fear of ostracism would have prevented most actions not to mention their folks probably would have killed them.

Very entertaining story and excellently written but just like all the others with premarital sex. Of course it helped me skip through a lot of parts for a faster read.

Definitely recommended but a little bit of the same O, same O!
I wish the authors would get a bit more original in the romance department or give us more action.

A quantum leap in this design team's talent!
A year or so ago, I borrowed a copy of _Paintbox Knits_, the first book collaberation of this design team. I have to say that I was a little underwhelmed: there were three or four patterns that piqued my interest, but not one for which I would bump another project's priority on my "to knit" list. The patterns were simple enough for me, as a busy mom and newbie knitter, but they seemed "gimmicky", relying on busy color schemes that reminded me of boxy machine-knit store brands, more than anything.

With this book, it seems the author/designers have truly come into their own! They still have a penchant for color, but so many of the new patterns make beautiful use of texture, simple cable patterns, etc. to create a garment that could easily be adapted to the knitter's personal color sense and style. Even a relatively "busy" pattern like their American Flag pullover is an understated classic. (Although I'm not likely to be knitting those dizzying button-and-intarsia strewn holiday sweaters...)

With the current "knitting is cool again" fad, and a plethora of teaching books riding the wave, the authors have found a good balance between over-complexity and the temptation to make every knitting book a "teach the newbies" book. No, there are no Debbie Bliss style works of exquisite and intricate precision here, but the authors do provide some wonderful and not-too-intimidating introductions to new techniques such as Entrelac, a basketweave-look pattern.

My rule of thumb is that a pattern book should have at least at least one "must have" pattern in it for every dollar it costs. By that standard, I think that lots of folks who have children to knit for will find Paintbox Knits II well worth the investment!

A Must for Career Success
Move to the Front is a must read for not only women who wish to be successful in business (or military) today, but for men who want to learn how to interact effectively with the other half of the working force. Jo Rusin gives clear, concise, and valuable information on how to be a team player, how to develop the proper attitude for success, and how to handle situations which arise when playing by long established male rules of the game. A well written book filled with excellent examples, it is highly recommended.

A great read aloud book!
I got this book from our library 3 months ago and have renewed it four times in a row! My 2 1/2 year old daughter loves it and I have to say I enjoy reading it to her. It has wonderful rhymes, rhythm and review (like the house that jack built) so it is lots of fun! I have my daughter guess the next word because the rhyming is generally predictable, it also teaches a little about colors and is just plain silly which makes it fun for all. At last I am buying my own copy so someone else can get it from the library!

Marjorie Jaffe, a fitness instructor to an upscale clientele in New York City, has narrowed the entire fitness thing down to 10 exercises, which can be performed in just 15 minutes a day. Her goal is postural: to help hard-working women keep their chests high, waists narrow, backs properly aligned and necks long, thus avoiding the sags and droops of impending middle age. The exercises are interesting and somewhat complex, with an emphasis on concentration and muscle control, rather than pumping up or feeling the burn.

A Refreshing Antidote to "No Pain, No Gain"
Marjorie Jaffe has been the best-kept secret among Manhattan's trim set for years and this book reveals why. Her method, which started as a way to help people with bad backs, really works! Who knew that basically rolling around on the floor for an hour could make you feel and look so great? The book is easy to follow and once you master her simple technique you can do this for life.

legal advocate
This book is really the best I've seen. It's so well written and easy to use for any age and several different applications. It is great for school prevention education. It can be used in the home for early childhood awareness and parent bonding. In a theraputic setting it helps to explain to young victims the dynamics of abuse and healing. I can also be used for parents and PTA type groups to educate the general public in sexual abuse, and to use in the court setting to educate jurors and attorneys as to how this type of crime happens. The special appeal also to parents who may have boy children who have been abused is valuable.
