Authors such as Thelma Wells, Barbara Johnson, Sheila Walsh, and Luci Swindoll share personal thoughts on how to maintain one's joy despite their circumstances. I particularly enjoyed the photographs that coincide with the text. They are beautifully done with tranquil scenes and lend a wonderful feeling to the entire reading experience. Also, there are scriptures from the Bible throughout the book that support the message being given. Joy for a Woman's Soul is a great gift or supplement to a Bible study.

Authors such as Patsy Clairmont, Thelma Wells, Barbara Johnson, Luci Swindoll and Sheila Walsh who are known for their powerful lectures on how to keep joy in your life regardless of your circumstances. On several pages there are scriptures from the Bible that support the particular theme the authors are addressing such as joy, love and peace. The photographs that accompany the script are tranquil and serene and lend a wonderful feeling to the overall reading experience. I used to be a store manager for a Christian bookstore and this book was used as a gift or supplement to one's Bible study. Personally, I love it and that's why I rated it with five stars. Overall, if you or someone in your life need a boost of joy...this is the book you are looking for.

I return to this book again and again for comfort. It does discuss issues of homosexuality and spirituality, but the focus is very much on spirituality, so it is appropriate for people of any or no sexual orientation who want to learn to love more deeply and purely. I also appreciate the friendly, conversational style of the book. It makes me feel as if Dr. Morrison were a good friend.

This book is the perfect response to those "Christians" who tell those of us that are gay that we must either change or go to hell. Ms. Morrison tackles the questions of inclusiveness of all in the modern church, and does it with love. This book is not just for homosexuals, it is for anyone who has ever felt unwelcome or unincluded in church. Read this book!

An excellent work on the doctrine of repentance. I have seen very little in print regarding the doctrine of repentance which I find to be rather odd with the plethora of books available in theology--perhaps because it is such a convicting topic. I find that the evangelical church is weak in this area as well as in the doctrine of sin. Though relatively brief Dr. Ferguson hits the nail right on the head and gets straight to the point in a very readable book. He weaves this important doctrine into the overall doctrine of God's grace.

In a mere 48 pages, Ferguson takes a topic that is scarcely written about and reveals what is at the heart of repentance. Drawing upon Luther's 1st of 95 Theses, he maintains that Christianity does not just begin with an act of repentance, but is marked by an entire life of repentance. In addition to helpful bibilical analysis, he offers a warning to the contemporary church against lapsing into Medieval religious practices. All in all, a clear and warm balance of truth and grace!

I really enjoyed this book. First, I have to mention the design because it contributes to the reading experience. The cover, the sepia drawings and photos and the ruffle edge pages all are remind the reader of an old voyage log. The story is great. The adventure, the discomoforts(the Alaska back country in July is not nice)the sights and sounds are amazing. It is a very exciting book. Despite the hardships the men are very upbeat and bathe the whole trip in prayer. I decided to read Call of the Wild afterwards.

This book is a quite an adventure story! Best of all it's true! As they make thier jorney through Alaska they did make it despite a lot of troble on the trip there! My favorite part is when they find a dinosaur bone and well you'll just have to read it and find out!

Finally, a book that refuses to skirt around the difficult issues relative to inner healing and spiritual abuse within the Church today. While others are adding to the long list of books that seem to excuse or promote the status quo, Dr. Mulitze brings a message of compassion, hope and encouragment founded on Biblical truth. His research is thorough and well presented, and the examples that he provides leave the reader with no doubt that the healing presence of Jesus is available today and is being experienced by many. Jeremiah 2:13 states "My people have committed two evils; they have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, and they have hewn for themselves cisterns, broken cisterns, which cannot hold water". There is hope and healing for the weary and the brokenhearted and Dr. Mulitze, in The Great Omission, leads sincere seekers to the fountain of living waters - Jesus, our Healer. This book is a must for anyone who is himself wounded or who is involved in healing ministry within the Church.

There seems to be a long standing debate as to how (and if) the Holy Spirit moves in the church today. Is healing possible? What is our obligation as a church in this area?

One side seems to argue that the gifts of the Holy Spirit ended with the Apostles, and that any claimed manifestations of the Holy Spirit are either phoney, or worse yet, demonic. Others seems to argue in favour of any and all manifestations, throwing all caution (and sometimes theology) to the wind.

Well finally there is a book that brings clarity to the debate. If you are looking for fluff or hype, you won't find it here. Dr. Mulitze takes you on a journey through scripture to discover the truth about the healing presence of Jesus. His book is an extremely well researched and well documented book that is both thought provoking and challenging. It is interspersed with real examples of real people getting real healing. This book is not about hype or fluff; it is about encountering the healing presence of Jesus.

This small volume is an excellent resource for scripture study. It gives a good background to some of the cultural values and practices of the ancient world and how understanding these cultural values can help us as we interpret scripture today. The values discussed in the book are those that were held by the ancient Jewish people, as well as the values of their neighbors, particularly the Greeks and the Romans. There are many topics in the book which are arranged alphabetically and related subjects are crossed referenced. Many of the topics include bibliographies so that a reader can do further research if he/she wishes. The book contains a scriptural index which for quick reference, always a help for those involved in preaching.

The book is edited by noted scripture scholars John J. Pilch and Bruce J. Malina. Many of the contributors are among the best known names in biblical scholarship. The articles themselves are well written and most are easy to read. The book can be helpful for people involved in preaching, but will probably be most helpful for those who conduct scripture classes who wish to explore topics in a deeper manner.

Both Malina and Pilch provide a useful tool for students and scholars alike. Bridging the gap of culture and time for modern biblical readers is a daunting task and this text helps the modern reader to gain clearer understandings of the Biblical world. A reference work that is a must have for any serious reader of the Bible.

This is one of the best books I have ever read! It is very easy to understand and the author has done an excelent job!! Bill Ferguson also wrote a book called,"How To Heal A Painful Relationship", which is equally as good as,"Have You Suffered Enough?". I highly recommend both books to read before ending a marriage as I did. The two books have helped me see my mistakes in the past and healed me also. Now I am best friends with my ex. Thanks to Mr. Ferguson and his books! Please read his books before making any major decisions. Love and Prayers.

Easy to read but powerful. A concise method of dealing with the core issues that produce painful emotional states, and unhealthy relationships.
Mr Ferguson is an accomplished author of several best selling self help books, as well as a seasoned therapist. He draws from a vast pool of professional experience to produce effective, yet simple methods for dealing with conflict and emotional pain.
I recommend this book highly to laymen and professionals alike.

A candid writing style complements a steady flow of advice in a fantastic new book by Anthony Kovner, Ph.D. His Health Care Management in Mind: Eight Careers is an elegant story on many levels. First, one can read this book simply as an autobiography of one of health care's most successful and brightest leaders. The book is designed as a story of Dr. Kovner's resume. Each chapter is devoted to the eight respective careers that Dr. Kovner has held, each filled with a detailed description of what it means to be an administrator, a consultant, an academic, respectively, in various organizations. Second, each career proves to be simultaneously easier and harder than the previous or next one. This is made clear by Dr. Kovner's ability to lend insight with a welcome but heavy dosage of wit (e.g. a manager in a difficult situation can best be labeled as "having as much chance as a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest"); advice ("network, network, network"); and a "lessons learned" segment within each chapter ("I would encourage any manager to pay attention to timing and questions of tone.") Tying these thoughts together, and reading in-between the lines, one can read past Dr. Kovner's clever wit and openess to understand: 1.) That a successful career is one that is a mixture of skills and experiences where one can be a "gentleman" who completes his work with passion and merit; 2.)That one needs to fail in some jobs to be ultimately successful in other, more challenging ones; 3.)That friends and mentors help enhance one's ego, mind, and temperament; 4.) That every manager needs to keep his eyes focused, his ears open, and his sense of humor ever present; and 5.) That it is fun to look back on one's career and be able to tell anecdotes and managerial tidbits. Each chapter ends with a checklist of questions that current and future managers can answer honestly about themselves, all based on the themes of the chapter. Ever the professor, Dr. Kovner concludes each chapter with a "Practical Exercise" segment that allows the reader to ask and look into questions that helps her own career. With humor, classic academic rigor, and fine storytelling, Dr. Kovner paints of picture of eight careers that are fun, practical, insightful, and most importantly extend a lesson. I highly recommend this book to young managers who need a mentor and to experienced managers and academics who can share in the experiences of a fellow leader. As a young administrator myself, the next time I want to serve as a consultant, become a CEO, work with a billion-dollar foundation, or teach graduate school, I think I'll check back with each respective chapter and see what may come my way in way of expectations, rewards, lessons, and, of course, work. For this I remain thankful, as will any reader.

This book is a fascinating look at the evolution of a career in management. It is notable for the author's honesty throught his 8 careers -- moving at first haphazardly, and then with more direction, a reader can follow his decisions. As a MBA student, I found his description of careers heartening and engaging. The guides at the end of each chapter serve as a more formal learning guide for readers pursuing health management careers. Overall a great read, and educational to boot!

The book was required for our training staff. It provided our newer trainers with lots of ideas and our more senior staff with great new information as well. We were so excited to see a handbook designed specifically for healthcare. We are using the assessments and worksheets already.

It's about time someone gave us a step-by-step approach to delivery training in the unique world of healthcare. This book is well organized with lots of tips, tools and assessments that can be used right away. It examines the major trends we face daily in the healthcare world. It explores everything from how to do a needs assessment, to how to design training to overcoming obstacles. This is a must read for every training department in healthcare!

I've bought this set about 6 months ago and have been listening to it regularly, with the Meditations for Anxiety-Release a permanent staple in my main CD player and the Meditations for General Wellbeing in my Discman as the main staple CD. The results have been considerable, with an increase of peace, focus, mental-clarity, and a sense of stability and self-confidence. Listening and following along with the Anxiety-Release meditation helps to build courage to face each new day's challenges, as such it also improved my health and relationships with people. However as with all types of meditative aids, you will need patience to see the results but the results will become addictive.

Belleruth's voice is soothing. The imageries are fresh. The pace is excellent to induce calmness. The music is a wonderful backdrop that strimulates your imagination and soothes you at the same time.

I bought this set a month or so ago and have found it to be so soothing and relaxing - I can feel myself becoming better. I even got my husband to try out the one that's for sleep - it really does make a difference. Belleruth's voice and the music on these CDs are so soothing that they almost instantly take you to another place to let go of the stress and distractions of the day so that you can sink into a wonderful state of peace. I just love them. The set includes 4 CDs total - two are on stress, one is general wellness and one is for sleep. I'm buying copies for other family members too its so great.
