One of the best books on a philosophical discussion of various religions of the world. The author is probably the most respected philosopher who bridged the gaps in Eastern and Western philosophy.

At first i did not look forward to reading this book. But i was at work, and that was the only one i had in my pack so i started reading it. I could not put it down, it was interesting and well written. If anyone has an interest in the Gulag system's, i'd recomend reading this one along with the Russian Gulag books to get an idea of how diffent cultures treat their prisoners.

I have to say that this is a truly fantastic book!

When I first bought it I have to admit I thought It was by the 'other' Kate Saunders (the not quite so famous romantic author)-I have to admit I thought it was a funny title for a romance!!- but despite my usual preference for the softer side of life I loved every beautifully crafted word of this.

All I can say is, if this Kate Saunders wrote romantic fiction as well, I would be first in line to buy it.

When I was 13 (I am 19) my mother read this book and said that she wasn't afraid to die after reading it. Since then I have read this book 3 times and have found it wonderful after each time I read it. My mother died whe I was 14 and this book has helped me to understand the reasons why we live and die and has helped me to have a relationship with God and our Saviour in my everyday life. I recommend this book to anyone who has ever wondered the big "Why" of life and struggle. Betty speaks of the truth that we have all forgotten.

This book has shaped the way I live my life even today 5 years later. It took away my fear of dying and gave me hope,and it continues to guide me and make me aware of how I treat other people. and for anyone who has lost a loved one it will surely bring a since of peace.unforgetable!!

Kendra's book reminds all of us how every action and reaction in life is a choice. Through her insightful story telling, she introduces us to ordinary people who have made godly choices in the face of very difficult circumstances. The book caused me to more carefully consider every choice I make. Get a copy!!

Kendra Smiley is a wonderful author and even better in person! She tells true stories of women that she has met and helped through their problems with. In this book, through stories and woman to woman advice, Kendra helps today's woman make the right choices to today's problems! My advice? Check it out!

I loved reading this book. I found the book easy to read, fluid and reconfirming advice I'd already received from friends, doctors and other information I've gathered along the way. This book was extremely comforting in the sense that a doctor who specializes in difficult births, let alone a normal, average births, validated my thoughts and feelings on preganancy, labor and delivery. I truly appreciated the authors emphasis on the "woman being involved and empowered" with decisions, expcially in regards to cesarean sections. I've already passed this book along to all my pregnant friends!

Empowered pregnancy is about lifting the veil of assumptions, beliefs and old practices that keep a woman from making her own choices around her pregnancy and delivery. The book serves as a patient advocate to navigate through a complex medical system. The book reveals the truth that women have more control over their pregnancy than they know. This is a remarkable book. I'm recommending it to family members and friends.

Although, I had only a beginners understanding of Tibetan Buddhism before I read this book, I felt myself easily acquainted with the analytical methods discussed in "Emptiness Yoga." Hopkins is able to elucidate complex philosophical and experiential topics concerning the meditative practices of Tibetan Buddhism so that anyone with a good philosophical background or an acquaintance with meditation will be able to gain a more profound understanding of emptiness. My only criticism is that I often felt myself being tantalized by what appeared, at least on closer inspection, to be over-simplistic analytical tools. Though, this is perhaps more a problem with the subject matter than the writer. I had always envisioned Tibetan Buddhism to be more experiential and subtle in its understanding of cause and effect and emptiness. Yet, perhaps further complexity is not within the scope of this book. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in Buddhism or in attaining a more profound understanding of emptiness.

The essential text for Westerners interested in the Pransangika view of emptiness. Covers profound topics while maintaining clarity of prose.Best for those with some familiarity with Buddhist philosophy, but educational for beginners as well.

Takes a look at not only common drugs, plants, and animals, yes animals, used for psychoactive experiences, but more importantly, it gives a very impressive view of obscure substances that most other 'drug encyclopedias', that cost about the same price or more, don't even mention.

This is the book to get if you want to learn more about the substances that you don't see in the news everyday, but in many cases have been used for hundreds, if not thousands of years.

It looks at the more common drugs used in society today (LSD, Ecstasy, Marijuana, etc.) but its real value is that of a gap filler in most peoples drug knowledge.

This is a good overview of most drugs used in society today as well as plants and methods that have been used in times past. From the common to the obscure, most psychoactive substances and their histories are included. It makes a welcome addition to any library.

Being a book in encyclopedia form, it only devotes a few pages to each substance. If you are looking for a detailed book about a specific drug don't get this, get a book strictly devoted to the drug you are interested in.

This is the wake-up call for Christians who want to
have a REAL walk with a REAL GOD.

American churchianity has often missed God and HIS will.

In a world where 'Christians' are talking about getting rich and making the 'Gospel' a tool to pad their bank accounts, Michael Brown gives a clarion call to stop and wake up! The Word promises what it will cost to follow the savior and this book will paint a little bit of a different picture than you might receive by watching Christian television. God is looking for warriors who would be willing to follow Him at ANY cost. This book is a must read for both those in ministry and those desiring to live for the King

This is an excellent college level text.I particularly like the detailed "real world" drafting problems for the students. Also it has a very good apppendix. It is comprehensive enough that we use it in three different courses here at Vincennes University.

I have had this book in my drafting library for some time now. I am always using it and recommending it. The book is laid out so that you can go from beginning drafting up through advanced. It not only says what the standards are, but walks you through drafting technology so that you understand why they are like they are. I believe that anyone that is going to be doing drafting should have this in their library.

If you're like most Americans, it won't be long until either you or someone you love becomes a patient in an emergency room. And, if you're like most Americans, you will blindly trust the doctors and other ER personnel to provide optimal care. That might be a reasonable expectation in a perfect world, but we don't live in a perfect world. We live in a world in which the quality of emergency care is considerably variable from one hospital to another and from one practitioner to another and even from one minute to another. Are you willing to cross your fingers and hope that everything goes well?

Fortunately, you need not leave your fate to chance. If you follow the advice given by Dr. Cohen, you can become an intelligent participant in your care and proactively take steps to reduce a myriad number of risks, any one of which may put you at increased risk of death or disability. Or you can play the blame game, in which you or your survivors point fingers in a courtroom. That's great for lawyers, but is it good for you? Obviously not, if health means more to you than money. Malpractice attorneys like to justify their existence by believing that they're performing a useful public service: namely, punishing doctors for real or imagined errors and thereby enhancing the quality of medical care. In theory, that sounds great. In reality, that system just isn't effective.

If everyone read and followed the advice in this book, Dr. Cohen would do far more to enhance the delivery of first-rate emergency healthcare than every malpractice attorney in this country. Collectively, Dr. Cohen's advice could save billions of dollars and an untold number of tragedies. I don't know of any other book that offers so many helpful ER tips. If you don't read this book, some day you will probably wish you did. Even though I'm an ER doc, I learned some helpful things from Dr. Cohen. His splendid advice could help so many people in so many ways. Do yourself a favor, and read this book.
